A Study of PCL and PET ablation by ultrashort laser (극초단 레이저를 이용한 PCL 및 PET 가공에 대한 연구)

  • This paper describes microscale laser structuring of electrospun(ES) PCL and PET nanofiber meshes. Electrospinning produces non-woven meshes of synthetic or natural materials fibers with diameters ranging from micron down to the nanometer scales that are advantageous for the supporting the growth of the small scale structures. Ultrashort laser found to be effective on the fabrication of engineeredtissue scaffold with minimum heat affect and ultra precision ablation patterns. The affect of energy range for ablation quality was analyzed and ablation characteristics of PCL and PET were compared.

  • Recently, mobile information devices, such as cellular phone, PDA(Personal Digital Assistant, PDA) are getting smaller and thinner. Accordingly, ultra precision welding technology is required to manufacture the high performance system for use in the telecommunication industry. In this study, we propose the laser micro welding process. Using ytterbium fiber laser, a wide range of experiments have been carried out for the gold wire-to-gold thin film welding.

  • There have been intensive and continuous efforts in the field of DLC coating process because of their feature, like high hardness, high elasticity, abrasion resistance and chemical stability and have been applied widely the industrial areas. In this research, optimal grinding condition was investigated using Microlens Process Machine for the development of aspheric glass lens which is to be used for mobile phone module with 3 mega pixel and 2.5X optical zoom, and tungsten carbide(WC) mold cote was manufactured using high performance ultra precision machining and the effects of DLC coating on the form accuracy(PV) and surface roughness(Ra) of WC mold core was evaluated.

  • The cylinder horn is designed to increase uniformity of the displacement on the output face through simulation and experiments for the simple cylinder, spool and step horns. The modal analysis is conducted numerically to calculate the vibration mode and stress distribution of the cylinder horn, and the design of experiment (DOE) technique is employed to determine the optimum configuration of the spool horn. Displacement of the cylinder horn was measured using the Laser Doppler Vibrometer (LDV), and experimental results show good agreements with the predicted results. It appears that uniformity higher than 95% can be achieved with the spool horn when the proper dimension of the groove is used.

  • In this paper, we present performance analysis of an IEEE P802.15.3a high rate wireless personal area network transceiver. This physical layer standard uses QOSK as its sub-channel modulation scheme and orthogonal frequency domain modulation (OFDM) for sub-bands. OFDM is used for each sub-band so that multi-path effects are absorbed by equalizer and guard, and fading can be approximately modeled as additive white Gaussian noise. In multi-band ultra-wideband system, DAC quantization error is important noise source since high resolution conversion cannot be used due to high power consumption. Simulation result shows that, to get 640-Mbps throughput, at least 5-bits precision is necessary to maintain bit-error rate under 10$\^$-2/, which can be lowered, with channel coding, to 10$\^$-6/ that is the bit-error rate required by IEEE 802.15 upper protocol layer, in 4-meter LOS fading channel.

  • Abstract Head-mounted displays(HMD) are being developed and marketed in growing numbers for a variety of applications. Though most commonly associated with entertainment applications other applications are also being developed. The field vision on the display screens is expanded by the optical system producing an imaginary screen that appears to be positioned several meters in front of the viewer. In this study, the mold core for the prism lens of HMD was processed by fly-cutting method, and the form accuracy of the mold core was measured.

  • 본 논문에서는 초정밀 위치 결정 시스템에서 보다 정확한 제어를 위한 새로운 제어기를 설계한다. 외란을 고려한 시스템의 경우, 환경이 달라질 때마다 측정 노이즈를 정확하게 알아내기란 쉽지 않다. 따라서 측정 장치의 정확성을 나타낼 수 있도록 칼만 필터추정기와 퍼지 이론을 이용하여 정확한 측정 오차값을 구한다. 이때, 파라미터 불확실성과 의란에 강인한 제어를 위해 슬라이딩 모드 제어기와 LQ 최적 제어기가 적용된다. 최종적으로, 제안된 제어기와 시간 최적 제어기의 성능비교를 통하여 보다 강인하고 안정된 성능개선을 증명한다.

Development of Ultra-precision Ultrasonic Surface Machining Device Using Cyclic Elliptical Cutting Motion of a Couple of Piezoelectric Material (압전소자의 미세회전운동을 이용한 초정밀 초음파 표면가공기 개발)

  • Various types of elliptical motions are generated by PZT mechanism which is composed of two parallel piezoelectric actuators. Elliptical vibration cutting(EVC) is obtained by attaching single crystal diamond cutting tool to the mechanism, and V-grooving for Brass and Aluminum is carried out by applying the EVC. It is experimentally observed that the cutting force in the process of the EVC reduces compared to the ordinary non-vibration cutting, which is due to the decrease of undeformed chip thickness and frictional force between the tool and chip. Ultrasonic elliptical vibration cutting(UEVC) suppresses burr formation and decreases cutting force still more, so UEVC makes it possible to enhance the shape accuracy of machined surface.

  • Surface roughness is widely used as an index for processing degree of accuracy. Recently, regression analysis to predict the machining results are actively used to characterize a cutting operations. In the past, diamond machining had been used for ultra precision cutting operation, but now industrial diamond tools like PCD(Polycrystalline Diamond) have been widely used in ultraprecision machining of nonferrous metals. In this study, the authors focus on the effect of PCD tool property on the surface roughness of Al5083 aluminum alloy after cutting process by CNC operated lathe. Based on the regression analysis approach on a surface roughness data obtained by experiment, predictive analysis of surface roughness is effective to achieve better surface quality.

  • Micromachining technology using a ultra-precision micromachining system is widely applied in the fields of optics, biotechnology and analytical chemistry, etc. specially in microfabrication of fresnel lens, light guide panels of TFT-LED and PDP ribs with micro-patterns, machining errors have an effect on the performance of those products. The deflection of tool and tool holder is known to be one of the very important factors that is due to machining errors in micromachining. The deflections of diamond tool and tool holder used in micro-grooving are analysed by FEM. We analysed by FEM. With an linearity valuation of FEM, deflection of tool and tool holder is calculated by using the data of cutting force which is acquired from micro-V groove machining experiments in micromachining system.
