  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the prevalence, amount, and rate of supraeruption of the maxillary second molar according to sex, age, and history of periodontitis. Methods: Data were collected retrospectively from the charts and panoramic radiographs of 65 patients who were scheduled to undergo implant placement at the site of the mandibular second molar. The amount of supraeruption of the maxillary second molar and the alveolar bone level of the neighboring teeth were measured on digital panoramic radiographs. The prevalence was evaluated in each group, and univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify factors influencing the prevalence of supraeruption. The amount and the rate of supraeruption were compared between pairs of groups using the Mann-Whitney U test. For all tests, P values <0.05 were considered to indicate statistical significance. Results: Supraeruption occurred in 78% of the patients. The prevalence of supraeruption was affected by sex, age, and history of periodontitis. The mean amount of supraeruption was 0.91 mm and the mean rate of supraeruption was 0.14 mm/month. The amount and the rate of supraeruption showed no significant differences according to sex, age, or the distance from the cementoenamel junction to the alveolar bone crest (P>0.05). Conclusions: These results show that the amount of supraeruption on the maxillary second molar was similar to the thickness of the enamel on the occlusal surface. When a single implant is scheduled to be placed on the mandibular second molar, supraeruption of the antagonist should be considered.

  • We propose the fuzzy BCMP queueing network model for the performance evaluation of distributed processing system with the ambiguous arrival rates of job, service requirements, and service rates of server by the network environments. This model is classified as the open and closed type whether or not the network accepts jobs from the system outside. We derived the measures for system performances such as the job average spending time, average job number in the system and server utilizations using fuzzy mean value analysis which can process the fuzzy factors for both types. Computer simulation was performed for verifying the effectiveness of derived equations of performance evaluation. The fuzzy BCMP queueing network model was evaluated according to the fuzzy arrival rates of job, the number of clients, and the fuzzy service requirements of job for each the open and closed type. The results were agreed with the predicted performance evaluations of the system.

Of subjects who sought oriental medical service, 66.2% had musculoskeletal disorder and connective tissue disease, 18.9% had digestive tract disease, 16.4% had respiratory disease, 8.2% had endocrinemetabolic disease, 7.5% had circulatory disease and the remaining subjects had other diseases(p<0.001). 2. Of subjects who sought oriental medical service for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorder, 84.9% preferred acupuncture. Of those who had digestive tract diseases, 47.0% preferred packaged herbal medicine. Of those who had respiratory disease, 63.0% preferred packaged herbal medicine. 3. Acupuncture was the most often sought by subjects with musculoskeletal disorder. Packaged herbal medicine was sought by subjects with respiratory disease, digestive tract disease, endocrine-metabolic disease or circulatory disease. Tablet-type herbal medicine was sought by subjects with musculoskeletal disorder or digestive tract disease. Combined therapy was sought by subjects with musculoskeletal disorder, digestive tract disease, hematopoietic disease or immune disorder. 4. The level of satisfaction with oriental medical service was higher in subjects with circulatory disease, subjects with digestive tract disease, subjects with neurological disorder and subjects with musculoskeletal disorder in descending order. Of total subjects, 39.4% experienced side effects of oriental medical care, 38.1% experienced side effects of herbal medicine. About 51.9% considered the price of herbal medicine costly while 23.2% considered it reasonable. 5. Subjects' knowledge of herbal medicine was measured as $29.2{\pm}3.83$ out of 42 scores or 69 out of 100 points, indicating a low knowledge level. Subjects' knowledge was influenced by occupation, religion, side effects, sex, age, residence area, the type of insurance. These variables explained 15.2% of the variance. 7. Of total subjects, 56.8% were satisfied with oriental medical service. Patient satisfaction varied with occupation, religion, the type of insurance, health state and treatment outcomes. These variables explained 37.3% of the variance. Conclusion : The majority of subjects were satisfied with oriental medical service. However, oriental medical care are not widely used to treat all kinds of diseases while its use skews to a small categories of diseases. It is therefore necessary for the government and oriental medical service providers to develop new therapy approaches for the treatment of a broader range of diseases.

  • Professional baseball is one of the spectator sports that has been loved for a long time by the citizens as a recreational activity since its establishment in 1982, and has been playing pivotal role as a national sport. However, there has been decline in the number of audiences since 2019. Hence, this research paper aimed to provide strategic direction for planning and improvement of professional baseball stadiums by applying the concept of servicescape. In this research, five key factors of servicescape that affects players performance and the level of immersion of spectators were derived through literature review, and based on these key factors, case study analysis were carried out for 51 domestic and foreign baseball stadiums while focusing on the factors derived. Domestic baseball stadiums highly concentrate on spectatorship without effectively responding to change in spectators demand and its effective use of space rather than baseball games. As in foreign cases, it is critical to modify mangement process and planning direction, and improve policies while perceiving baseball stadium as recreational and cultural space.

  • It is important for the strategy of service to provide the health information in the environment that the healthcare has been changed focusing on the preventive medicine. Recently, the various applications of u-healthcare have been presented by researchers. In this paper, we proposed the health information monitoring system using the context sensors based band. By wearing the proposed hand, the health status is gathered and vital signals are transmitted to the connected UMPC. It can be easily monitored according to the user locations in real time. To provide the health index according to the temperature, the air conditioning, the illumination, the humidity, and the ultraviolet rays, we use the various XML links extracted from RSS of the Korea Meteorological Administration. The health information is analyzed in terms of factors, such as, the asthma index, the stroke index, the skin disease index, the pulmonary disease index, the pollen concentration index, and the city high temperature index. Ultimately, this paper suggests empirical application to verify the adequacy and the validity with the proposed system. Accordingly, the satisfaction and the quality of services will be improved the healthcare.
