  • The purpose of this article is to find out consumers' behavior styles in using of medical services and their perceptions of medical services. To that end, methodologies used include SERVQUAL and a part of HBM model. SERVQUAL is consumer's content dimensions about some service and HBM is a Model of health beliefs. In particular, the purpose is to find out how their perceptions about two dimensions of HBM(perceived benefits, perceived barriers) influence their satisfaction and medical service usage. As a result, it reveals that 4 dimensions of SERVQUAL influence significantly to the perceived benefits in medical service. Our finding might have strategic implications needed for hospitals by consumers of medical services.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Korean shoe-last based on the conformability of shoe. For this work, the important dimensions for the conformability of shoe were investigated and the systematic methods for evaluating the comfortable shoe were developed. Different two types of shoe-last for men and women were used in the experiment, respectively. 8000 feet dimensions of Korean adults were analyzed for developing standard shoe-last in this study. A total of 10 subjects (ranged from 21 to 25 years old) participated voluntarily. They evaluated each shoes made by developed shoe-last. A rating scale and description was used to express the degree of conformability. Also, 26 feet dimensions were measured using martin-typed gauge and footprint. The relationship between foot dimension and conformability of shoe was analyzed. As a result, Korean standard shoe-last was suggested based on the based on the conformability of shoe. The evaluating methods will be expected to help designer find more important design parameters. We will also expect that the standard shoe-last guarantee the optimal gait and minimal workload, especially in aspect of conformability.

  • The current research utilized as its target population who are current users of web based information system in Korea. The research validated the dimensions by studying he constructs within the context of the web based information system user population. Correlation was found between Flow dimensions retained as components of a ross-Cultural Model. It was determined that these two dimensions-Intrinsic Interest and Control-are significant predictors of user success. The Cross-Cultural Model was validated, and it is therefore suggested as a basis for further study of user success indicators in he cross-cultural enterprise environment.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the dimensions and patterns of the perception of Korean traditional food and to find the determinants of the patterns between Korean and Yanbian housewives, taking food culture into account. Data were factor and cluster analyzed, and the results revealed two and three different dimensions and patterns for Yanbian and Korean housewives respectively. Descriptive statistics showed that perceptional patterns are likely to vary depending on cultural background of Korean traditional food. Similarities and differences in perceptional patterns between Yanbian and Korean housewives are discussed, and future implications for food as well as nutrition specialists and food marketers are provided.

  • The efficient application of any welding process depends on the understanding of associated process parameters influence on the weld quality. The weld quality includes the weld bead dimensions, temperature distribution, metallurgical phases and the mechanical properties. A detailed review on the experimental and numerical approaches to understand the parametric influence of a single wire submerged arc welding (SAW) and multi-wire SAW processes on the final weld quality is reported in two parts. The first part deals with the experimental approaches which explain the parametric influence on the weld bead dimensions, metallurgical phases and the mechanical properties of the SAW weldment. Furthermore, the studies related to statistical modeling of the present welding process are also discussed. The second part deals with the numerical approaches which focus on the conduction based, and heat transfer and fluid flow analysis based studies in the present welding process. The present paper is the first part.

  • Success in new product development is vital to most industrial firms. In recent decades, a firm's new product strategy is incresinglyrecognized as an essential component of the total corporate plan in developing countries. In this research, 81 Korean manufacturing firms are examined to identify the relationships between a firm's product innovation stratege and the performance results with special emphasis on firm size in a developing country. First, a total of 8 strategy dimensions were identified, which constitute the specific elements of firm's innovation strategies. Two independent dimensions of performance were also identified and were found to be closely linked to the strategy adopted. Then, a categorization scheme is developed to distinguish firms according to their size, and proves useful in performance results might be altered for different company size. The findings generally suggest that a well-balanced new product program emphasizing both marketing and technological effort appropriately is needed to make the program successful. The different size of the company is found to call for somewhat different strategy dimensions to enhance the performance results.

  • The current research utilized as its target population who are current employees of innovative manufacturing enterprise medium to large-sized companies in Korea. The research validated the innovative dimensions by studying the two constructs within the context of the innovative manufacturing enterprise user population. Correlation was found between innovative dimensions retained as components of a Comprehensive Model. It was determined that these four dimensions-Content, Intrinsic Interest, Control, and Timeliness-are significant predictors of user success. The Comprehensive Model was validated, and it is therefore suggested as a basis for further study of user success indicators in the innovative manufacturing enterprise environment.

  • This study examines the characteristics of consumers on the ambivalent clothing consuming behavior and the relationship of relevant variables. The data were obtained from 400 females over 20 years old who lived in the cities of Daejeon or Seoul in October in 2009. The values consist of four dimensions: success-oriented value, social value, family-oriented value, and individual value. Value-conscious consumption consists of two dimensions: emotional value-conscious consumption and functional value-conscious consumption. The aforementioned four dimensions of value have positive effects on ambivalent clothing consuming behavior. In addition, emotional value-conscious consumption has a significant relationship on all 5 types in ambivalent clothing consuming behavior. The findings of this study are expected to be used to find niche markets and establish advanced advertising strategies.

  • Two types of barge, container and tanker vessels, are designed with specific dimensions for canal-coastal shipping in Kyung-In canal and Yellow Sea region. The principal dimensions of barges are determined by considering the environment of Kyung-In canal and Yellow Sea. The selection of structure type and structure type and strength confirmation is conducted by the technical rules of Korean Register of Shipping. For the structural analysis of designed barges, the semi-direct stuctural analysis is carried out with using MSC NASTRAN software. Applying identical dimensions to both vessels, the standardization of structural design and analysis procedure are introduced.
