Subsyndromal bipolar symptoms are common during maintenance treatment and appear to be associated with relapse into an episode of the same polarity. This implies subsyndromal symptoms are an important problem in recurrent bipolar disorder and require more additive and infallible therapeutic intervention. Undetected, untreated subsyndromal states lead patients to have poor prognosis and quality of life. The combination of a long undetected illness and significant psychosocial impairment renders early identification and intervention vital for the treatment of bipolar disorders. Methods for early identification includes finding prodromes, using screening tools such as the HCL-32 (Hypomania Checklist-32) and the BSDS (bipolar spectrum diagnostic scale). Various augmentation treatment methods would be needed to reduce subsyndromal symptoms, especially, psychosocial treatment has the potential to help patients address the multiple psychosocial problems associated with this chronic illness. To overcome difficulties of diagnosing subsyndromal disorder and to treat it appropriately, a staging system was suggested by some researchers. It assumes that earlier stages have better prognosis and require simpler therapeutic regimens. Staging may assist in treatment planning and prognosis of bipolar disorder, and emphasize the importance of early intervention. Further research is required in this exciting and novel area.
Heavy ion particle, represented carbon ion, radiotherapy is currently most advanced radiation therapy technique. Conventional radiation therapy has made remarkable changes over a relatively short period of time and leading various developments such as intensity modulated radiation therapy, 4D radiation therapy, image guided radiation therapy, and high precisional therapy. However, the biological and physical superiority of particle radiation, represented by Bragg peak, can give the maximum dose to tumor and minimal dose to surrounding normal tissues in the treatment of cancers in various areas surrounded by radiation-sensitive normal tissues. However, despite these advantages, there are some limitations and factors to consider. First, there is not enough evidence, such as large-scale randomized, prospective phase III trials, for the clinical application. Secondly, additional studies are needed to establish a very limited number of treatment facilities, uncertainty about the demand for heavy particle treatment, parallel with convetional radiotherapy or indications. In addition, Bragg peak of the heavy particles can greatly reduce the dose to the normal tissues front and behind the tumor compared to the photon or protons. High precision and accuracy are needed for treatment planning and treatment, especially for lungs or livers with large respiratory movements. Currently, the introduction of the heavy particle therapy device is in progress, and therefore, it is expected that more research will be active.
The purpose of this study is to estimate efficiently an odor dispersion from waste treatment facility for a crematory and a neighborhood facility, then propose planning, a location of an opening or the arrangement of the trees. Hence, offer a comfortable environment for a resident. For this, first the research data about estimating odor dispersion from waste treatment facility and odor are analyzed, then research an ingredient, characteristic, a direct effect for human and a method of measurement. Second, with on-site survey, check odorimetry and the source of odor dispersion, then apply this to the boundary condition of CFD simulation. Third, analyse by the hour for the 2008 standard weather data of Cheon-an, then apply summer data that odor dispersion is active, winter data relatively slow and an annual mean velocity and wind to the simulation. Even if a crematory and neighborhood facility located on south and north from waste treatment facility are at the low rate, the south and north wind will be applied to the simulation. Fourth, with CFD simulation result, predict an odor dispersion, then propose a solution which is considered an odor dispersion, a location of an opening and the arrangement of the trees. Consequently, this study will have an effect on an environment of a resident.

Accurate delivery of doses using a high dose rate(HDR) brachytherapy, remote afterloading system(RALS) depends on knowing the strength of the radioactive source at the time of treatment, the precision and consistency of the timer, and the ability of the unit to position the source at the proper dwell location along the applicator. Periodic Quality Assurance(QA) on HDR machines is a part of the standard protocol of any user. The safety of the patient & staff, positional accuracy, temporal accuracy, and dose delivery accuracy are periodically(weekly, quarterly, monthly) estimated using HDR source(Ir-192), treatment planning devices, measurement devices, and overall treatment devices with regard to treatment delivery. The overall measurement results are estimated successfully and assessed its clinical significance. As a result, our HDR brachytherapy units has been very accurate until now. The QA program protocol permits routine clinical use and provides a high confidence level in the accurate operation of HDR units. Therefore, regular QA of HDR brachytherapy is essential for successful treatment.
A conventional treatment machine shapes x-ray fields by a set of dense metal collimators(jaws) built into the machine. These collimators are positioned by the therapist using hand controls in the treatment room, and usually remain stationary during treatment. The collimator jaws of treatment machines produce rectangular beams. Conventional beam shaping is accomplished through the use of a combination of these collimator jaws and secondary custom beam blocks attached to the accelerator beyond the collimator Jaws. The jaw positions for a particular field can be retrieved from a computer. One application of this increased capability is replacement of beam blocks for field-shaping with the MLC. There are three basic applications of the MLC. The first application is to replace conventional blocking. A second function of the MLC is related to conformal therapy, adjusting the field shape to match the beam's eye view projection of a planning target volume during treatment. The third application is the use of the MLC to achieve beam intensity modulation. The aim of this paper is to provide basic principle and to state fundamental concepts needed to implement the use of a multileaf collimator in the conventional clinical setting. The use of MLC field shaping is likely to save time and to incur a lower operating cost when compared to the use of beam blocks.

Glossectomy combined with radiotherapy causes different levels of tongue function disorders and leads to severe malocclusion, with poor periodontal status in cancer survivors. Although affected patients require regular access to orthodontic care, special considerations are crucial for treatment planning. This case report describes the satisfactory orthodontic management for the correction of severe dental crowding in a 43-year-old female 6 years after treatment for tongue cancer with total glossectomy combined with radiotherapy, to envision the possibility of orthodontic care for oral cancer survivors. Extraction was performed to correct dental crowding and establish proper occlusion following alignment, after considering the possibility of osteoradionecrosis. Orthodontic mini-implants were used to provide skeletal anchorage required for closure of the extraction space and intrusion of the anterior teeth. The dental crowding was corrected, and Class I occlusal relationship was established after 36 months of treatment. The treatment outcome was sustained after 15 months of retention, and long-term follow-up was recommended.

As demands for efficient and echo-friendly production of marine products increase, smart aquaculture based on information and communication technology (ICT) has become a promising trend. The smart aquaculture is expected to control fundamental farm environment variables including water temperature and dissolved oxygen (DO) levels with less human intervention. A recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) is required for the smart aquaculture which utilizes a purification tank to reuse water drained from the water tank while blocking the external environment. Elaborate water treatment should be considered to properly operate RAS. However, analyzing the water treatment performance is a challenging issue because fish farm circumstance continuously changes and recursively affects water fluidity. To handle this issue, we introduce computational fluid dynamics (CFD) aided water treatment analysis including water fluidity and the solid particles removal efficiency. We adopt RAS parameters widely used in the real aquaculture field to better reflect the real situation. The simulation results provide several indicators for users to check performance metrics when planning to select appropriate RAS without actually using it which costs a lot to operate.

As private sewage treatment facilities in Korea are constantly concerned about the distribution and poor construction of defective products, minimum standards for each unit process applicable to the planning and design of sewage treatment facilities are deemed necessary. The problems and requirements of the analysis results of the operation status discussed in this study are as follows. 1) Strengthening education of supervisor of private sewage treatment facility. 2) Poor operation and management of Sewage treatment facilities. 3) A mandatory review of sewage treatment facilities for less than 2 ㎥/day of facilities other than sewage treatment zones. 4) Necessity of management of sewage treatment facility in feedstocks. 5) As a result of the technical review, Improvement plans for Ineligible facility are needed. It is also necessary to prepare a guidebook for design construction and maintenance by investigating and analyzing guidelines and data related to domestic and foreign private sewage treatment facilities.

This study was designed to investigate the formation of ethyl carbamate (EC) during the ripening of Maesil with sugar and Soju (19.5~35% alcohol contents) using a homemade method. Maesil, sugar and Soju were purchased at ordinary market in June of 2012. The preparation of sample for analysis was conducted by method of Henry et al. The analysis of GC/MS was used SIM mode (m/z 89, 74, 62). Quantification was performed in terms of the 62 ion and was based on an internal standard procedure. Good linearity was obtained with a regression coefficient ($r^2$ = 0.993). Low detection limits (LOD) was achieved 4.31 ug/kg and recovery for alcohol was 74.8%. During 90 days, fermentation with sugar was not detected EC (under LOQ). 15 days ripened Maesil wine contained EC between non detected~32.7 ug/kg and 90 days ripened Maesil wine was 19.7~87.4 ug/kg. Higher proportion of Maesil and Soju increased EC contents. EC levels were increased 32.7 ug/kg to 87.4 ug/kg in the ratio of Maesil to 35% alcohol-Soju (1:1). In the ratio of Maesil to 35% alcohol-Soju (1:3) was increased non detected to 69.7 ug/kg. After 90 days, Maesil wine was filtered Maesil through a seive and ripened by 180 days to investigate the formation of EC compared with non filtered. Treatment of filtered, EC contents was much higher level compared with non filtered. Therefore, this result showed that alcohol contents contribute to increase EC formation more than Maesil.

The purpose of this study was to develop a computer-assisted patients menu planning program for hospital dietetics in order to improve the quality of menu for patients and to release managers from repetitive and routine tasks. Using this program, dietitians can spend more time on professional tasks. Moreover, few studies have been done on computer assisted patients menu planning for patients who need special diets for treatment in domestic hospital dietetics, therefore this program could be a great contribution. A 16-bit personal computer compatible with IBM-PC/AT was used. The data base files and processing program were created by Clipper package ver 5.0. This system can collect a number of meals, plan patients menu and computerize nutrient analysis. The future study will develop program(s) for purchasing, inventory control and data correction. The contents of computerized system are summarized as follows. 1. The number of daily meals of special and general diets given to the patients are collected and saved in database. These data were for the monthly list of meal census which could be printed out on the screen and/or the printer. 2. The menu planning was largely consisted of 2 sections. One was for the patients who require special diets and the other was general diet. And the special diets was divided into 6 sub-sections: diabetic, low-salt, low-fat, low-salt/low-protein, low-fat/low-cholesterol and low residue diets. 3. The nutrient analysis was composed of 11 diet. Sections and diebetic diet was divided into 9 sub-sections according to the calorie requirement. The calculated results were compared with the standards which were established by the hospital dietetic department.
