  • An immediate complete denture is considered as restoration for lost natural teeth, which is fabricated following the extraction of the remaining teeth. Current esthetics and function can be retained by using immediate denture without edentulous period. However, the major disadvantages of immediate denture relate to the difficulties associated with taking accurate definitive impression and predicting the results of immediate denture. In this case report, the Campagna tray technique was used to take the final impression in a 49-year-old male patient presented with all remaining teeth diagnosed as hopeless teeth. Surgical templates were used for alveoloplasty after extraction. The immediate complete dentures were then delivered. The clinical assessments of immediate dentures showed good esthetic and functional outcomes. The patient showed high level of satisfaction.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the gap between foodservice personnel and inpatients, to urge foodservice providers to reconsider by identifying the problems in service delivery for customer satisfaction, and to deduce the priority for foodservice quality improvement. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : the average perception score of personnel (4.32 out of 5) was higher than that of customers (3.90). In particular, the customers' perceptions of 17 attributes, which included 'removal service of tray by foodservice personnel', 'nutrition and health-related information service', 'handling inpatient's complaint ASAP', 'delicious meals' and 'salty enough meals' and so on, was significantly lower than personnel's. Both service providers and customers perceived that 'personnel attitude' was the highest and 'meal quality' was the lowest among the 4 factors, but there was significant difference on 'meal quality'(p < .001), 'customer reception' (p < .001) and 'personnel attitude' (p < .05) between the two groups. As a results of quadrant analysis, 'removal service of tray by foodservice personnel', 'handling inpatient's complaints ASAP' and 'meal service according to doctor's orders were categorized into Quadrant A with meaning of high personnel's perceptions and low customers'. Therefore service providers have to perceive the gap between the two viewpoints and grant priority to these attributes in improving foodservice qualify. • Gas-liquid contact tests above a perforated-plate were conducted with air and water at flooding gas-flow conditions in order to study two-phase flow characteristics in a limestone-gypsum SO2 absorber. Gas layers were in the form of air pockets and confined to the limited areas around each duct pipe, while the remaining tary area were in the wet condition. The liquid above the tray was always in the flooded and even fluidized conditions at gas flows over the range studied, although vigorous bubbly or churn-turbulent two-phase regime was only observed in the immediate vicinity of the gas hole exit at low gas loads. The froth zone was extremely active to provide intimate contact between gas and liquid so that the necessary mass transfer operation can take place, which is the primary purpose of high-performance SO2 absorbers. Howefer, the absorber $\Delta$P was 250mmH2O for the initial water level at 150mm, which is an important issue to be resolved for economical operation of the SO2 absorber. It was seen in the liquid level-and gas flow-transient tests that changes in the absorber liquid inventory were much more pronounced for intimate gas-liquid contact than changes in the gas flow. Based on the 4- and 8-duct pipe test results, grouping the duct pipes near the center of the test tray seemed to promote better recirulation of liquid from gas-liquid contact zone back to the reaction tank so that the absorbed SO2 can be neutralized.

  • Mouthguards were used to protect boxers from lip lacerations and other soft tissue injuries in the late 19th century. Now they are used various parts of dental treatment, which are sports protective aid, bleaching tray, orthodontic retainer, implant insertion guide tray, splint and so on. Repeated dislodgement of Class V restoration due to habitual clenching stress should be restored with stress control. Mouthguard can be used as stress relief device. This case describes methods that can relieve occlusal force to teeth by using mouthguard. Satisfactory results can be obtained by using mouthguard for retention of repeated dislodgement Class V restorations. If patients suffered from repeated restorations of Class V due to clenching, mouthguard can be used additional device to relieve the occlusal stress in conservative dentistry.

  • The milling plants in Korea have been generally used the paddy-separator that operated in accordance with the principle of sieving action. This type of paddy separator was considered as inefficient, especially in relation to the new high-yielding varieties which have different size characteristics within their varieties and also as compared to traditional varieties. With the installation of modern paddy separator it may be possible to increase the overall milling system efficiency and to reduce the grain loss. This study was intended to identify and define important parameters required for assessing the separation performance of a tray-type paddy separator and to determine the optimum conditions of the inclination of separator-table. The results of the study were summarized as follows : (1) Separation performance can be given by use of many parameters found from the measurement of separator outputs. such as upper-tail recovery $(\varepsilon)$, purity of upper-tail $(\gamma)$ , separation recovery of brown rice $(\alpha)$, separation recovery paddy $(\beta)$, and efficiency of separator $(\epsilon)$, Among these para-meters , $\varepsilon$, $\gamma$, $\alpha$ and $\beta$, were designated , respectively, their independent properties of the paddy separator. In addition, their modes of variation due to a varied inclination of the separation table did not indicated in the same direction . However, the efficiency of separator had an advantage to indicate the overall characteristics of the separator performance with a clear optimum inclination condition of the separator table. (2) The optimum feed rate and maximum efficiency of the separator did not occur at the identical inclination of the separator table. Thus, for its practical operation it is necessary to compromise between the qualitative and quantitative performances of the separator. (3) The optimum setting of the separator table tested in the study showed to occur at its inclination of approximately $26^\circ<$/TEX> for the front and $8^\circ<$/TEX> for lateral.

  • In comparison of physicochemical properties between expanded rice hulls (ERH) and a commercial nursery soil (Bunong), the pH and content of organic matters were higher in ERH than those of Bunong soil. However, the content of available phosphate, $\textrm{NH}_4\textrm{-N}$ and $\textrm{NO}_3\textrm{-N}$ were lower in ERH as compared with Bunong soil. The growth characteristics of seedlings were evaluated for 15-day old seedlings grown in five different nursery soils including ERH. The plant height was the tallest (22.8cm) in Bunong soil and shortest (12.8cm) in ERH. There was no difference in number of leaves among five types of nursery soils. The best results based on the seedling quality and root intensity was obtained from the seedlings grown in the nursery soil which ERH was used for bedding and Bunong soil for covering in the seed tray. The weight of a seed tray with Bunong soils was 27% heavier than that of 'ERH + Bunong soil'.

  • Soybean (Glycine max Merr.) and corn (Zea mays L.) transplanting has increased because soybean and corn crops cultivated by the direct seeding method were often damaged by wild birds. The purpose of this study is to develop a seeder to sow soybean (Glycine max Merr.) and corn (Zea mays L.) in a plug tray. In order to find out design factors for a metering device of the seeder, metering characteristics on metering hole size and roller speed were experimentally investigated. Soybean (cv. 'Daewon') and corn (cv. 'Mibaekchal') were used as a materials for testing the seeder in this experiment. The metering hole size of roller suitable for Daewonkong and Mibaekchal was determined. Daewonkong was suitable for hole diameter of 10 mm and hole depth of 5.5 mm, and Mibaekcal was suitable for hole diameter of 9 mm and hole depth of 5.5 mm. At a brush length of 4 mm, one grain seeding rates of Daewonkong and Mibaekchal was 99% and 93% respectively. By inducing Mibaekchal to the hole by swing, one grain seeding rate of that increased from 91.9% to 97.7%. When roller speed is 4 m per minut, seeding efficiency of prototype was 110 sheets per hour.

  • Measuring tray as a component in irrigation control system using drainage electrodes was designed and applied for tomato perlite bed culture, and the effectiveness of the irrigation control system was investigated in terms of cultural development and cultivation costs. Five different types of measuring trays equipped with drainage electrodes were tested and the traditional tray was used as the control equipped with time clock. After the first experiment, "Tube-2" was removed because of instability of water content in the substrate. After second experiment, "Tube-1" was removed because of instability of water content in the substrate and low plant yields. In third experiment, "Up-Board" exhibited the best stability in water contents and yields as well as efficiencies in water and fertilizer utilization. The "Up-Board" was the most economical and the easiest system among the tested trays. Therefore, the "Up-Board" system was concluded as the excellent design to apply for the control method using drainage electrodes for tomato perlite bed culture.
