  • Both traffic congestion and air pollution in the metropolitan area can be greatly relieved by promoting the use of public transportation with zero emission system. Bus and subway are very convenient means for the people moving in the route areas. But they are not enough to satisfy handicapped or old people to have access to them and also do not solve environmental problems completely. New vehicle system, fuel cell track rapid transit, will be introduced as a countermeasure for such problems in the present paper.

  • The hydraulic brake system is recently apply to the AGT system such merit as installation is convenient and brake force is stronger than pneumatic brake system. The hydraulic brake system consist of brake operating unit, electronic control unit, air compressor and pneumatic/hydraulic tranducer. The components of it are controlled and designed to perform the function of brake system. Therefore, This paper design and the hydraulic brake system and propose the derection of development for Urban Transit System.

  • This paper proposes the track layout criterion for the LRT(light rail transit). All criterions established concerning dimension and performance of LRT vehicles with rubber wheel. Using theoretical approach, adaptation and validity of criterions are verified. Especially, it were modified according to change of vehicle performance that criterions proposed previous version Proposed criterions may provide a standard scheme for design and construction of the track layout on LRT.

  • This paper describes the capacity calculation of power supply system for light Rail Transit Three factors are considered for the design i.e. substation arrangements, line configuration and substation power capacity. In this study, we considered all of them for capacity calculation of power supply system for LRT. At first DC-fed-traction system is introduced on an outline, a characteristics of train and fed network, and design method of substation arrangements. Optimal design procedures are described, and program for capacity calculation of the system is presented. In addition, the computer simulated results are computed with the conventional simple calculation method.

  • This paper proposes the track layout criterion for the LRT(light rail transit). All criterions established concerning dimension and performance of LRT vehicles that are three types. Types of vehices are AGT(automated guided train) steel wheel. AGT rubber tire and LIM(linear induction motor). Using theoritical approach, adaptation and validity of criterions are verified. Proposed criterions may provide a standard scheme for design and construction of the infrastructure on LRT.

  • In this paper, the dynamics of automated guideway transit vehicles with rubber tires are studied. Two different AGT models are considered: the bogie system and the steering system . It is found that the bogie system is stable at all possible operating speeds, whereas it is not true fur the steering system. To investigate the dynamic stability of steering systems, the critical speeds are investigated and the dynamics of the closed-loop steering control system are numerically simulated.

  • The optimal braking control system is determined according to the required operating condition, for example brake rate. On that reason each train has its own various special features. This paper describes a study on the Brake Control System of Canada RAV Rapid Transit which also has various special features, to help comprehensive concept of brake control system including Cross Brake Control System and Guaranteed Emergency Brake Rate.

  • Reliable fast working maglev switch is one of the key technologies needed for the maglev system to be commercialized. Switch for the maglev system is large, heavy, complicated, expensive compared with that of the traditional wheel-on-rail system. This paper reports the development of a segmented maglev switch for urban transit maglev system under construction for the 6.1 km long double track maglev commercialization line in Inchon international airport in 2012. Test results along with details of the segmented maglev switch components are reported.
