상선 위탁실습생의 업무실태 및 실습만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Working Status and Onboard Training Satisfaction Level of Merchant Ship's Cadets)

  • 2017년 승선실습 중이던 위탁실습생이 사망하는 사고가 있었다. 이 실습생은 1일 12시간씩 작업을 했다고 한다. 실습생에 대한 업무시간과 휴식시간을 규정하는 법령은 아직까지 없다. 이 연구는 상선에서 승선실습을 하는 위탁실습생의 업무실태 파악과 위탁실습생의 처우 개선을 위해 설문조사와 통계분석을 수행했다. 설문은 상선에서 위탁실습을 다녀온 학생을 대상으로 진행했다. 설문결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 선종에 관계없이 1일 평균 10시간씩 업무했다는 의견이 43.0 %를 차지했고, 휴식시간은 평균 8시간이었다는 의견이 35.2 %를 차지했다. 응답자의 15.6 %가 12시간 이상 업무한 경험이 있다고 했다. 라면 끓이기, 휴식 중에 작업, 사적인 심부름 등 부당한 지시 사례가 있었다. 둘째, 선종별 교육만족도에 대해 LNG운반선에서 실습한 학생들의 만족도가 높았던 반면, 산적화물선과 컨테이너운반선의 교육만족도는 낮았다. 선박의 크기와 선령, 업무시간, 휴식시간, 실습지원비가 교육만족도에 미치는 영향은 미약함을 확인했다. 끝으로, 위탁실습생의 근로자성 판단에 대해 56.8 %가 '근로에 해당된다'고 응답했다. 설문결과를 통해 위탁실습의 열악성과 위탁실습생이 근로와 휴식에 대한 법령의 사각지대에 있음을 확인했다. 이를 위해 업무시간과 휴식시간의 법령 마련, 폭력 및 성희롱에 피해방지시스템 구축 등을 개선방안으로 제시했다. 이 연구는 위탁실습생의 업무와 휴식에 논문의 초점을 맞춰 선박의 종류와 크기, 선령별로 실습만족도를 분석했다는 것에 의의가 있다.

An Ergonomic Approach for Optimized Layout of Training Ship's Bridge

  • To propose an ergonomic layout on the bridge, this study conducted a usability evaluation on the on-bridge navigational equipment of a college training ship that is in use at present. Through the usability evaluation on the training ship navigators, the possibility of operational errors with navigational equipment, the possibility of readout errors with display devices and even the effect of navigational equipment on navigation were evaluated beyond the scope of existing layouts, which adopt only the importance and usage frequency of navigational equipment. By taking ergonomic variables into consideration, this study suggested an optimized layout for on-bridge navigational equipment using a mathematical programming model.

  • 소방선 훈련시스템은 실선을 모사하여 제작된 소방선 훈련 시뮬레이터이다. 훈련원은 교관의 제시에 따라 다양한 훈련 시나리오를 수행하며 상황 대처 능력과 운항 및 소방 기술을 습득할 수 있다. 이러한 과정에서 훈련원에 대한 객관적이고 적절한 평가는 필수적이므로 이를 위한 훈련원 평가시스템을 개발하였다.

Shipboard Training for the Efficient Maritime Education

  • Marine officers should have crisis control ability because ship operation needs not only highly specialized information, but also functional capability due to the fact that there always exist dangers at sea, which are different from those at shore. Therefore, marine officers should be trained on the related specialized information under the systematical educational system including shipboard training. Their training is also based on the strong spiritual power and physical strength through the strict training process. In order to have these vocational personalities, dormitory life training and shipboard training courses seem to be essential processes, which are required of maritime education. The introduction of automatic system into the ship as a result of the recent development of technology brings decrease of the full number of crew. Consequently, marine officers are increasingly under heavy burden, and should have more ship operation capabilities than before. Maine officers should have not only specialized information which differs from that at shore, but also vocational adaptability which can reasonably tackle with all the problems which exist on the spot and are obstacles to individual, spiritual, physical, natural, and social demands. So it is required that marine officers should have study many areas to deal with as extra curricula besides their major field of study, which are unique characteristics of the education for them. These vocational adaptabilities are based on the spiritual characteristics, such as self-developmental education, responsibility, meticulous care, attentiveness, voluntary, planning, readiness, spontaneity, accuracy, self-denial, obedience, leadership, and etc.

  • It is one of the most important factors Seafarers Education Quality Assurance and management in Higher Maritime Education Institution. The educational process and result of Higher Maritime Educational Institution. The educational process and result of Higher Maritime Educational Institution should be evaluated according to the 1995 Amendments to the International Convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watchkddping for Seafares(STCW) 1978. Actuall above-mentioned evaluation is deemed to make foundation in order to enhance the efficiency of shipboard education by surveying the satisfaction of shipboard training for Marine Engineering part cadets by the group. In this paper we carried out the questionnaire survey to study stisfactory value and the reason of dissatisfaction of 89 cadets being trained on board the Training Ship in Maritime College of Korea Maritime University The results were calculated by frequency and percentage; the significance of difference among Department groups like Marine Engineering Maritime polic and Ship Operating Systems Engineering Engineering was analysed by $x^2$ inspection.

실습선 가야호의 선체운동에 따른 멀미도 조사 분석 (An Analysis of Inquiry for Motion Sickness Incidence of the Training Ship, Kaya, due to the Ship Motion)

  • Excessive motion of the ship in rough sea would affect body's fatigue, cognitive ability, motion sickness, and the proficiency of activity. Among them symptoms of motion sickness are similar to fatigue and nausea. Motion sickness causes sudden degradations of ability to perform tasks in physical and psychological aspects, and causes delays or failure in mental activity, and also takes a significant amount of time recovering. In this study, questionnaire for MSI(Motion Sickness Incidence) survey was taken for the students aboard the training ship of Kaya to the open sea far from land. Motion sickness analysis was performed as comparing the results of questionnaire based on sea state, incident angle, economical speed, and location in the ship.

  • 미국은 국가안보와 해운산업 국제 경쟁력 강화를 위하여 미 연방상선대학과 같은 4년제 대학교육으로 상선사관을 양성하고 있다. 미국의 해기사 양성제도는 크게 연방정부에서 지원 운영하는 Academy (U. S. Merchant Marine Academy와 U. S. Coast Guard Academy)와 각 주(State)에서 지원 운영하는 캘리포니아해양대학교 등 6개 주립대학의 정규 4년제 교육을 통하여 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 미국 해기사 교육기관 중 교육중심의 캘리포니아 해양대학의 교육제도, 실습방법, 실습선 운영형태를 파악하여 우리나라 해기사 교육제도에 도움이 되게 하고자 한다.

Perception of Ship's Movement in Docking Maneuvering using Ship-Handling Simulator

  • Recently it is coming to be hish reality on visual system in ship-handling simulator depending on the technical development of 3D computer graphics. Even with high reality, it is possible that visual information presented seafarers through screen or display is not equivalent to the real world. In docking maneuvering, visual targets or obstructs are sighted close to ship's operator or within few hundred meters, so it might be possible to affect visual information such as the difference between both eyes' and single eye's visual sight. Because it is not possible to perceive of very slow ship's movement by visual in case of very large vessels, so the Doppler Docking SONAR and/or Docking Speed and Distance Measurement Equipment were developed and applied for safety docking maneuvering. By the way, the simulator training includes the ship's maneuvering training in docking, but in Ship-handling Simulator and also onboard, there are some limitations of perception of ship's movement with visual information. In this paper, perception of ship's movement with visual system in Ship-handling Simulator and competition of performances of visual systems that are conventional screen type with Fixed Eye-point system and Mission Simulator. We got some conclusions not only on the effectiveness for visual system but also on the human behavior in docking maneuver.

  • Pumps have been widely used for transporting fluid in most of the merchant ships. However, the present status of using pumps for marine vessels has not been studied. This paper is to classify and analyze pumps installed in many ships(LNGC, Oil Tanker, Bulk, Container, Training ship). Finally, Pumps installed in the training ships are compared with merchant ships about the present status of using pumps.
