  • The TPS accepts as input, vehicle parameters, control parameters, station parameters and right-of-way profile. Outputs of TPS program include velocity, elapsed time and power profiles. This paper represents how to develop the TPS program. The TPS program simulates the operation of a single train under the input conditions.

  • This Paper describes a characteristics of wheel wear of high speed train running on the conventional line. Conventional line has many curved tracks that cause severe wheel flange wear. The influences of lubrication, cant deficiency, owe radius on wheel wear are also described considering the operation performance of the highspeed trainset. A method of calculation using contact patch work model is presented far determination of the evolution by wear of railway wheels.

  • An OBCS(on-board control system) which controls an operation of high speed train is a distributed control system which centrally supervises and controls a distributed system if independent units. A complicated process of design, implementation and test is needed to develop this system. The OBCS and its control algorithm are designed and verified by using the CASE Tool before it is implemented. Its functions are verified by the OBCS simulator. Hereafter, this verification process for Korean high-speed train being developed is presented.

  • A signal system is critical point of transport capacity and train operation in urban rail transit. Today the moving block system by radio is taking place of the fixed block system by track circuit for efficiency and short headway in underground railway and right rail transit. In this study, assuming specification of a train, track and control system, the minimum headway on the moving block system and the fixed block system is researched for the maximum transport capacity.

  • 무선통신기반의 이동폐색방식 열차제어시스템에서는, 열차위치를 폐색구간 단위로 검지하지 않고 실제 위치를 점단위로 검지하는 방식을 취하기 때문에, 종래와 같이 궤도회로에 의한 폐색구간 단위로 열차위치를 표시할 수 없게 된다. 이와 같이 궤도회로를 사용하지 않는 이동-폐색방식 열차제어시스템에서 현시 전개도를 통하여 열차운행상황을 나타내는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • To cope with recent high gas prices and global warming phenomenon, the latest gasoline engine technologies are focusing on direction injection, downsizing by turbo charging, variable compression ratio, controlled auto Ignition to enhance fuel efficiency and satisfy emission regulations. The variable valve train technology will be a basement for these innovative technologies in internal combustion engines and is supposed to play a key role to improve low thermal efficiency and pumping loss in gasoline engine caused by low compression ratio and throttled operation respectively.

  • This paper describes the measurement result of leakage current flowing arrestors connected in catenary line to propose an optimal management methods. 27 arrestors set in 7 locations were tested. The leakage currents are included a harmonics of electric train during the operation of electric train in feeding section and in case of feeding earthing system.

  • In modern society, the range of time and space in life is continually expanding due to increase of income and diversification of life. In order to respond to these changes and to satisfy needs and to secure the mobility of citizens, the construction of transport infrastructure and public transport services should be provided continually. In particular, to ensure mobility during late-night hours, providing metropolitan public transport services is urgently needed. Due to expansion of life zone, tension of time and space of metropolitan transportation is essential to construct transport infrastructure in preparation for entry into 24-hour community. This study was based on analysis of travel resource and survey data conducted by passengers of express trains, conventional trains, and metropolitan bus. This study is to investigate use characteristics of passengers and characteristics and problems of Gyeongin-line. Moreover, this study's purpose is to suggest plans in order to improve express train operation and extend hours of the midnight express. It is also important to vitalize public transportation.

  • On AC railway systems, the neutral sections are installed in front of substations and sectioning posts in order to avoid crash between power that have differing phases. In case railway vehicles pass through these neutral sections, it is necessary for them to switch to coasting driving by notch-off. This may reduce speed of the vehicles, resulting lowered train operation efficiency. The usage of automatic power switching systems makes it possible to pass neutral sections at notch-on, enhancing operation efficiency so that it is appropriate for high-speed railway applications. This paper analyzed inrush current of main transformer that installed on the train while passing through the neutral section using the simulator.
