  • This paper proposes the Train Control System for the LRT(light rail transit). With regard to information processing in car, we build a computer network in the car, turned the hardware required for train control into software, and developed the Train Control Monitoring System(TCMS) and ATC. Drive Type of Train control system car can drive with Driverless mode basically, and this paper applied 10Mbps special communication type for car control, data analysis, The propulsion efforts and breaking effort can control the cars. It is used Vector Control in Propulsion control and proposed Operating pattern for Propulsion control thinking Operating data of Rubber Tire LRT.

  • The aim of this paper is to provide a guide to those methods of train detection which are available, or are likely to become available, to the designer of train control or other relevant systems. In broad terms, train detection may be defined as the process of generating information which describes the location and movement of trains. Train detection information is difficult to define in isolation. Consider, for example, the train detection information required in a modern train control system. This may vary considerably : in a future high performance train control system, it might be necessary to know the precise position, direction of movement, speed, and possibly even the acceleration or braking, of all trains in the control area : in a less demanding application, it might be sufficient to know only the location of trains in terms of the occupation of sections of track.

  • Transmitting correct train control information is important in a train control system which demands safety. The train control information includes the maximum speed of trains, position of preceding trains, incline of tracks and curve sections etc. A radio frequency-communication based train control system is influenced by the noise and interference because the train control information is transmitted by wireless between a on-board system and wayside system. The radio frequency-communication based train control system is a mobile communication system due to moving trains. The inter symbol interference(ISI) occurs by the multipath fading in the mobile ommunication system. As signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) is decreased by the ISI, the train control information is not received correctly. In case of tunnel section, numerous reflected waves exist. Therefore, the power density of receiver is decreased by difference among the received times, magnitudes, phases through the multipath. So, the train suddenly is stopped by the fail-safe operation in the train control system on account of decreasing the power density of receiver. In this paper, a line of sight model-(Additive White Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel), rayleigh and rician fading model are presented. Probability density functions which are related to the SNR are derived from the models. The fading phenomenon severely occurs as a result of analyzing the probability density functions. So, the space diversity method is used in order to reduce the fading effect and it is demonstrated by using Matlab program.

  • In this paper, for the purpose of improving the future domestic train control systems and securing interoperability according to the global development trends of train control systems, we present the test results of interoperability between wayside train control system installed in existed line, and the onboard train control system. Due to the safety-critical characteristics of train systems, the site test in the section where the wayside equipment is installed, leads to a danger against safety. Therefore, by way of constructing a simulation environment of train control systems, we confirm the T/R data systems of the equipment for interoperability and test the interoperability by applying these systems to onboard equipment.

  • This paper presents a design procedure for the supervisory controller(SC) of the high-speed train car. The proposed SC manages control logic and scenario of the overall train system, and monitors input/output signals among the sub-controllers in the system, The roles and functions of each sub-control system are defined, and the interfaces among the control systems are developed. Train control system is modeled with automata, and the model is implemented into a program using a computer-aided software engineering(CASE) tool, Object GEODE, The designed SC is verified and evaluated by using simulation. The SC is shown to successfully perform the designed functions without any errors.

  • The light-rail system which is recently being built in Korea is a train control system based on driverless operation, and the train control system for urban maglev train under construction at the moment in Youngjong-Do, Incheon is pushed ahead based on driverless operation. In this paper, it compares train operation cases with manned operation and unmanned operation to examine system requirements for unmanned driving on train and detects system requirements of automatic train operation device for unmanned operation by analyzing unmanned operation cases which are currently operating or planed project and also introduces automatic train operation of urban maglev train and verifies whether the system for unmanned driving meets the requirements.

  • The brake system is important to stop train safely. The train is sloped by regenerative brake and pneumatic brake which are continuously blended at service brake. When service is applied to train, it is controlled by train weight and brake command. The jerk limitation function is applied for impulseless smoothing braking. All brake applications in service condition have a function of the variable load control to keep the braking effort in proportion to each car load. All of control function are performed by brake controller. Therefore, we will propose the design of brake control system in order to control efficiently

  • The automatic/driverless operation which are great important techniques in metro railway are required to increase higher safety, greater reliability, and transport capacity. To satisfy such demands, we must have the system design iかd testing technique for the railway system operation. These techniques are related to the onboard train control and communication systems which include TCMS(Train Control md Monitoring System), ATO(Automatic train Operation), ATC(Automatic train Control), and TWC(Train to wayside communication). These sub-systems must be interfacing with not only each others but also the signal system on the ground. We tested the train control system on Test line that has been developed on the basis of the standardized type EMU for korea railway systems. This test line which is located in Sangju, have been constructed for testing 7 & 8 line of Seoul Metro railway.
