A system dynamics model is developed to investigate the applicability of the agent based modeling concept in the system dynamics model. The assumed problem is to forecast the size and structure of the organization with the developing market environment. The agent based modeling concept is applied to the organization part, and the other parts of the model such as market, facilities, etc. are developed with the traditional system dynamics technique. The simulation results show the agent based modeling part can be combined with the traditional system dynamics modeling with more precisions. However, the complexity increases and the simulation times are longer than those of the traditional method.

This paper describes the design and trial development of a system that supports continuous hazard mapping by local residents in their daily life. We performed an interview survey to design our system in a model traditional town in Saga Prefecture, Japan. The results show that despite continued efforts, many practical problems remain and residents feel unsafe. Considering these results, we designed and developed a unique information and communication technology-based support system that contributes to community-based disaster prevention and reduction. The continuous resident participation and posting design are the core concept for our community-based approach. Our system continues to support making a hazard map by integrating the community-based hazard information. Local residents register information (disaster types, risk level, photographs, comments, positional information) about locations that could be dangerous in a disaster. In addition, our system enables information sharing through a Web server. We expect that this information sharing will allow local hazard information for each district to be used.

This paper revisited the key advances on System Dynamics modeling about traditional macro-economic models and economic growth structures, and then tries to elaborate a new model based on the endogenous growth theory that incorporates new growth factors, relevant to knowledge/technology as well as the Environment, into traditional growth models. Accordingly, the new model augments the acceleration and multiplier loops and the balancing ones representing market clearing mechanism with a simple numerical example. The authors thus provides macroeconomic System Dynamics analysts with a milestone to model macro-economic structures reflecting on traditional and cutting-edge theories on sustainable economic growth and general equilibrium modeling.

In Traditional Oriental Medicine, there has been a growing needs for computerized diagnosis expert system, which can implement pre-diagnosis and correct the errors of practitioners. Therefore, we developed the expert system (KHU-PIPE : Kyung Hee University - Pattern Identification and Prescription Expert) for diagnosis and treatment. It has three characteristics as following. First. this system has the knowledge base which modified the standardized data designed by Chinese government during 1980s. Second, it provides the objective and standardized diagnosis as the results of pattern identification and their appropriate prescriptions for treatment. Third, it is applied to both LAN system and internet. Furthermore, it can be used as an educational methods for the practices of pattern identification and prescription, and provide the objective criteria for clinical studies and promote the Traditional Oriental Medicine as an evidence-based medicine.

Recently, the food industry has evolved into a new and innovative trend according to its globalization and change of food consumption patterns. However, it is hard for the traditional food industry in Korea to meet the changing consumers' needs because of its poorer quality control and lower industrialization technology than other advanced industries. Also the knowledges acquired through a lot of time and efforts would be lost after the human resources with tacit knowledges leave by their too much aging. Especially, the 21st century would be called as knowledge based society which means that knowledge be the important contributing factor in the economic growth. In this regard, this study aimed at proposing the knowledge based system for systematically managing or preserving knowledges of Mosisongpyun industry in Yeonggwang County to seek for the sustainable development of the traditional food industry in Korea. The knowledge based system of Mosisongpyun industry in Yeonggwang County is finally proposed as follows; First, hardware is composed with the necessary unit facilities such as interpretive center, learning and experience room, library, etc. And the integrating facilities such as Mosisongpyun theme park, traditional village, and knowledge industrialization support center are proposed. Second, software is composed with the necessary unit softwares such as the preservation manual of traditional knowledge and skill, web-site administrator, development of graded textbooks, development database software, etc. And the integrating softwares such as development of innovation and management ability in Mosisongpyun industry are proposed. Third, humanware is composed with the necessary unit programs such as exhibition, own training program, incubator support system, etc. And the integrating programs such as the farm association corporation, the testing and research institute, the institution of learning and training are proposed.

This article focuses on subject of the present question to traditional market. Epilepsy has now become the most serious brain disorder. A number of synthetic antiepileptic drugs are available in practice, however their effectiveness does not grip true with the entire population suffering from epilepsy. Traditional systems of medicine are popular in developing countries and most of the population relies on traditional medicines for their primary health care need. Medicinal plants to be an important source of traditional medicines. Various plants are used for the treatment of epilepsy in traditional system of medicines and various plants are yet to be scientifically investigated. Phyto-constituents have been the basis of treatment of human diseases including epilepsy. Herbal products are extensively used for the treatment of many diseases worldwide and where allopathic fails or has severe side effects. Psycho neural drugs are also have very serious side effects like physical dependence, tolerance, deterioration of cognitive function and effect on respiratory, digestive and immune system. So the treatments through herbal medicines are widely used across the world due to their wide applicability and therapeutic efficacy with least side effects, which in turn has accelerated the research regarding natural therapy. In this review we have summarized some herbal anti-epileptics.

The importance of EDI has been so emphasized that we need exchange/maintain electronic documents effectively, and convert then to other formats. The traditional EDI, however, is facing on the limitation of growth because of it's high expense, and the closenees of sharing information. The EDls of next generation, like open EDI, object-oriented EDI, and Internet EDI, have appeared to solve these problems. Finally, XML/EDl, which is very effective to solve these kinds of problems, is now replacing the traditional EDI and the HTML in Internet and is influencing on e-Business. So, we are going to suggest a solution which uses XML/EDl as a substitute for the traditional one. First, we analyzed the problems of the traditional EDI system and organized the structure of XML/EDl system. Next, we have developed the prototype of Internet bookstore to show the effectiveness and strength of XML/EDl over the traditional EDI.

Korean traditional houses have been evolved and developed in many years, adopting the natural environment to control exterior conditions. These control method are various Passive system of using natural materials, considering micro climate, building lay out, and these system are much natural and ecological to make the comfortable indoor climate than active systems of the present houses. This study aims to analyzed the acoustical characteristics of Korean traditional houses varied with lay out and floor plan to reflect the way of control for environmental condition. The reverberation time and level difference between rooms of the main living room and other main floored room, master room and kitchen are measured in each houses. As a result, the reverberation time of Korean traditional rooms are below 0.6 second, and the sound insulation performance of Korean traditional door are mostly very low grade with D-15. The level difference between rooms are low grade not to meet minimum class except between main living room and master room away from main living building. These above results show that our traditional house are much more emphasized seeking visual privacy of rooms than aural privacy.
