Characteristic and Transition of woman's Saeng-Hwal-Han-Bok after Modern Korea (근대이후 여성 생활한복의 특징 및 변천)

  • Modernization of Korea had begun with the reformation of the Kab-o Reform in 1894, which the government had designed after the protectorate treaty with Japan in 1876. It had affected drastic changes on the formation and framework of a Han-bok by government and the main changes is found in creating new style of Gae-ryang Han-bok. During 1980's, the peoples were interested in traditional cultural heritage, and 'the campaign of wearing Woo-Ri Ot' prevailed in Korea to instill the radical sprit of Korean. A Han-bok, which was made at this time, has called a Saeng-hwal Han-bok. The purposes of this study are to defue the the words that are Han-bok, Gae-ryang Han-bok and Saeng-hwal Han-bok of meaning and characteristic based on the previous studies and historical materials and present a unified and historical opinion about Han-bok to the academic world and industry of Han-bok by the consideration. Han-bok is a traditional costume with a long skirt and long breast-tie based on the later Cho-sun and is emphasized a virtue and manner on it. Gae-ryang Han-bok is an improved Han-bok that is include with a Tong-Chima and Jeogori for making a movement and function better. Saeng-hwal Han-bok is originated by the movement of wearing Woo-ri Ot in 1984, is interpreted the traditional Korean beauty from the modem view and is a practice Han-bok for popularizing intodaily life. After investigating the 33 of previous studies, the characteristics and transitions of Han-bok are followed. First, the reason of fail about the reform of dress is a loss of traditional beauty. Second, the yes or no of the establishment of law about the reform of dress, it influenced on a reforming or wearing speed of costume. Third, after 8.15, a modem girl and girl student can not impact on a system of Korean women anymore because, the number of the group that means a high educated and active woman, was growing. So, the elevation of women's education matured the system of Korean women's costume. forth, western style clothes are popularized after the Korean War and it is set down in the system of Korean women's dress.

Quantitative Evaluations for Impressions of Landscape and Soundscape about Traditional Area in Asan City (아산시의 전통적인 지역에 대한 경관과 소리경관의 정량적 인상평가)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method to analyze and quantitatively evaluate the impression of landscapes and soundscapes about traditional area of Chungnam Asan city in Korea. For this, we collated data about impression evaluation of Korean and Japanese students and, based on these result, we proved the validity and usefulness of the evaluation system that we proposed through this study. The research process conducted in this study as follows: first of all, we had selected five traditional places of interest in Asan City, and investigated various conditional elements of the area including soundscapes which is forming the landscape using video camera. And we made both Korean and Japanese students evaluate the impression for these videotaped landscape data through using the SD(semantic differential) method. And then, we quantified these qualitative data through applying the quantification theory and cluster analysis method to them. Though this process, we could obtain both data as a result derived by classifying each sample and categorizing levels of those impression evaluation. Because of totally difference between those two analyzing processes, which one is for sample classification and the other is for determining impression level, we could validate the usefulness of our evaluation system through conducting comparative analysis of results from both methods. Analysis showed that our novel evaluation system for landscape is effective and, in most part of the traditional landscape, Japanese students' responses are different far from the Korean students' responses.

A Study of the Heating Systems used by Korean Compatriot in Russia - Focusing on Yunhaeju, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan- (러시아에 거주하는 고려인의 난방 방식에 관한 연구 -연해주, 카자흐스탄, 우즈베키스탄을 중심으로-)

  • In 1937, most Korean compatriot who lived in Yunhaeju moved to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in Central Asia following the deportation policy of Russia. Korean compatriot have kept their traditional life style for 140 years, without a deep relationship with Korea. This study examined the heating systems of Korean compatriot in Yunhaeju, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Russia. A literature review and field research, based on Ethnography as a research method, was employed. The results of the research were as following: 1) Korean compatriot in Yunhaeju use a Pechika, which is a radiator that uses hot water, and a Gudul as the main heating systems, but the use of a Pechika was most common. A Pechika functions for cooking as well as for warming the house. The room with the Gudul was connected to the kitchen, so this space was used as a place for cooking and eating, for family members to meet. Many kinds of fuel, like gas and electricity, were used to power the heating systems. 2) Korean compatriot in Kazakhstan use radiators, with hot water as the main heating system, with ratio using Gudul used in this region being the highest of all the three areas. The most common fuels used for a Gudul were wood and coal, and gas was also used in cooking. The room with the Gudul was planned to be located beside the fireplace, without any walls. The people using a Gudul use that place for eating and meeting, as well as for family members to sleep. 3) The main heating system of Korean compatriot in Uzbekistan was a radiator using hot water, and those with pipes containing hot water buried under the floor were very common. The function is very similar to that of a Gudul, so most people using this type of radiator would sleep on the floor. Those people with a traditional Gudul not using them were mostly in Uzbekistan. The reason for this was that the family members had diminished, so it was hard work for elderly parents to manage an extra building containing a Gudul. Gas was the fuel generally used for heating and cooking in Uzbekistan. 4) Guduls were used in the Korean compatriot's houses in all three areas, even though they have changed in structure to adapt to the Russian life style. However, Guduls have still been functioning to maintain a traditional life style in Korean compatriot's houses for the gathering of family members.

Shadow Recovery for Column-based Databases (컬럼-기반 데이터베이스를 위한 그림자 복구)

  • The column-oriented database storage is a very advanced model for large-volume data transactions because of its superior I/O performance. Traditional data storages exploit row-oriented storage where the attributes of a record are placed contiguously in hard disk for fast write operations. However, for search-mostly data warehouse systems, column-oriented storage has become a more proper model because of its superior read performance. Recently, solid state drive using flash memory is largely recognized as the preferred storage media for high-speed data analysis systems. In this research, we propose a new transaction recovery scheme for a column-oriented database environment which is based on a flash media file system. We improved traditional shadow paging schemes by reusing old data pages which are supposed to be invalidated in the course of writing a new data page in the flash file system environment. In order to reuse these data pages, we exploit reused shadow list structure in our column-oriented shadow recovery(CoSR) scheme. CoSR scheme minimizes the additional storage overhead for keeping shadow pages and minimizes the I/O performance degradation caused by column data compression of traditional recovery schemes. Based on the results of the performance evaluation, we conclude that CoSR outperforms the traditional schemes by 17%.

  • This study aims to propose the policy direction for agriculture and fisheries heritage system in Korea. The agriculture and fisheries heritage system is defined as traditional agricultural activity systems and landscapes which should be preserved, sustained and handed down and evolved from the co-adaptation of a community with its cultual, agricultural, biological environment. The key characteristics of the agriculture and fisheries heritage system of Korea are as follows; Firstly, this system designates software and hardware factor of heritage in integrative manner. secondly, this system seeks to preserve and utilize such heritages simultaneously. Thirdly, this system intends to strengthen the role of people in rural area. Fourthly, this system makes use of new engine of growth in agricultural community. This system is designed by comparing and reviewing several related domestic and foreign systems including FAO' GIAHS.

Design and Implementation of Advanced Traffic Monitoring System based on Integration of Data Stream Management System and Spatial DBMS

  • The real-time traffic data is generated continuous and unbounded stream data type while intelligent transport system (ITS) needs to provide various and high quality services by combining with spatial information. Traditional database techniques in ITS has shortage for processing dynamic real-time stream data and static spatial data simultaneously. In this paper, we design and implement an advanced traffic monitoring system (ATMS) with the integration of existed data stream management system (DSMS) and spatial DBMS using IntraMap. Besides, the developed ATMS can deal with the stream data of DSMS, the trajectory data of relational DBMS, and the spatial data of SDBMS concurrently. The implemented ATMS supports historical and one time query, continuous query and combined query. Application programmer can develop various intelligent services such as moving trajectory tracking, k-nearest neighbor (KNN) query and dynamic intelligent navigation by using components of the ATMS.

  • This paper performs a comparison analysis of two types of HVDC system in Jeju power system. A traditional HVDC transmission system had been composed of line commutated converter based on thyristors and the development of semiconductors enables to apply voltage source converter using IGBTs. The detailed parameters of Jeju power system were considered to make a similar condition with real system in real time digital simulator. Two types of HVDC transmission system were modeled and simulated to compare their characteristics in Jeju power system. The simulation results demonstrate that the VSC-HVDC system has more stable performance due to the fast response speed than LCC-HVDC when the transmission capacity was fluctuated.

  • In this paper, we propose a plan for the introduction of a knowledge-based system proposed by the traditional computing sciences, in order to operate the computer system computerized hospital workers effectively. Hospital computational features of the operating system for this purpose, were made about the working conditions, computational difficulties of the hospital administrator. It is necessary for a knowledge management system for results-effective IT system operational review findings apply to the hospital, where a hospital computer system having features and hospitals computational workers must be resolved on the technical and environmental constraints with It became aware of the need. This study further shows that an effective hospital computer system to derive additional operating a variety of issues to consider for the base and the introduction of a knowledge management system can gradually solve the problem.

Study on Analysis of Suitable Site for Development of Floating Photovoltaic System (수상태양광 발전시스템 개발을 위한 적지조사에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, interests in renewable energy have gradually increased. Photovoltaic system of various renewable energy is the most interest in power sources. Nowadays, the market of photovoltaic system is expected to be expanded due to the introduction of RPS(Renewable Portfolio Standard). Floating photovoltaic system is a new power system using the water surface above the dam and reservoir water. Floating photovoltaic system is different from the traditional approach to the development of solar power system causing problems such as environmental degradation. This paper investigates the analysis methods of suitable site for the development of floating photovoltaic system. The A,B,C as the optimal candidates were selected in hap cheon dam. The C is the best suitable site in A,B,C considering the expected power generation. Applied methods have effectively done to develop floated photovoltaic system.

  • Recently, performance auditing system of governmen is carried out as most promising framework of government audit. Performance audit by the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea involves assessing the causes and effects of government policies, programs, and Institutions with the criteria of economy, efficiency, effectiveness. Performance auditing will contribute to strengthening the values of objective assessments of whether public resources are responsibly and effectively managed to achieve intended results. Nevertheless, there seems to be a problems appears in implementation of audit. That is the problems of tendency return to legitimacy audit which is result from the lack of strong approach and methodology. So, this study purpose to developing stronger audit concepts and methods that add to the process and framework of traditional performance auditing system. First, this study evaluates the limitation of current performance auditing system with the perspective of systems thinking. Second, this study analyzes the process and method of current system and develop the conceptual model of the Dynamics Audit System using the system dynamics methodology, which focused on the appropriate auditing process and framework.
