There are two forms of medicine that have existed over time and are important in the delivery of expert health care. The forms of medicine are traditional and modern medicine. This study was aimed at assessing the awareness and perspective on the use and integration of traditional and modern medicine in a rural area of Sokoto State, Nigeria. Two hundred and seventy-one (271) respondents were recruited and a self-administered questionnaire on the awareness and perspective on use and integration of traditional and modern medicine was used to assess the participant's view. Among the participants, 200(73.8%) were females. The mean±SD age of respondents was 30.55±9.73 years. 80.8% of the respondents were aware of traditional medicine while 100% were aware of modern medicine. All respondents prefer modern medicine but about 28.8% support integration of both healthcare services. The results were considered significant when p-value was less than 0.005. There is a statistically significant relationship between the integration of traditional and modern forms of medicine and age, gender, religion, education, ethnicity and occupation but not for marital status. Though all the respondents preferred modern medicine to traditional medicine, some people still feel it will be good to combine both for a better healthcare system.

This paper was to find out the design methodology for korean railway station of steel structure using by wooden structure system. Traditionally Korean architecture was made by wooden structure system what is called Gong-Po (wooden bracket structure system). The abundant ornament of Korean architecture is resulted from the composition rule of Gong-Po(wooden bracket structure system). But Korean wooden structural system have a limit in constructing large building, for example railway station, airport terminal, convention center etc. It is needed to convert wooden structure system into steel structure system. But there are many differences between wooden structure and steel structure in texture, material strength, joint system of elements etc. In this paper, we will show you how to make a joint system for steel structure of railway station and how to present the traditionality of Korean architecture in railway station.

This paper presents a network based fire detection system using CAN, in order to evaluate feasibility of home automation protocol for smart home. In general, because a traditional fire detection system has an analog transmission method with 4-20mA current, it has several shortcomings such as weakness to noise. Hence, as an alternative to the traditional system, this paper presents the architecture of CAN based fire detection system and the design method of CAN communication network. Also, the performance of the suggested system is evaluated through an experimental testbed. Especially, CAN has several advantages such as low cost and easiness of implementation compared to Ethernet or ARCNET, which are low layer of BACNet. Therefore, if CAN is adopted as low layer of BACNet, the home automation system is implemented more effectively.

Traditional actuation system such as electric and pneumatic actuator has obvious advantages and disadvantages. To combine advantages and compensate disadvantages of the traditional actuation, a pneumatic actuation system with an internal air pressure source is noteworthy approach. In this paper, a soft pneumatic actuation system based on origami pump is described for haptic feedback glove. To improve wearability, an origami pump is introduced because the origami pump is much lighter than air compressor. The miniaturized electric actuation system is also designed with 3D printed planetary gear in order to reduce the volume of the system. To figure out the performance of the system, shrinkage distance of origami pump was measured with vision camera. The pressure in the origami pump was also estimated to understand the performance of the system.

The purpose of this study is to show inherent and differentiated beauty by designing costume knitwear using Dancho patterns representing peculiar beauty, thus expressing free and convenient knitwear in the modern sense for women with the image of reasonableness and elegance, proposing knit design using high-class materials for satisfying the demand for the highest. With regard to expression technique of works, I selected computer Jacquard method to indicate effective comparison effect of expression material and made expression with $12{\sim}14$ gauge as base by using computer knitting machine. Through above-mentioned research process and design using Knit CAD system, I obtained following conclusion. First, it is possible to express variously and widely traditional patterns by making the most of the beauty of the orient and by recomposing the patterns of plant patterns representing "feminine image". Second, it is possible to widely represent the sense you can feel from knit by expressing variously diversity of knit structure and Jacquard knitting structure and gauge. Finally, it is possible to express designs more freely and imaginably by using computer Knit CAD system instead of actual knitting of various knit expression technique and materials application.

In this research, ANN modeling method of SMES unit is developed for stability analysis, and the optimal site is selected to maximize stabilization effect of SMES unit. The ANN is trained by learning data which is obtained through the application of complex test function into the traditional mathematical mode. In order to verify the validity of proposed modeling method, fault data of sample power system is applied to both the traditional and the ANN models. When the response of traditional and proposed models are compared, the average error for the active and reactive power are 2.51[%], and 0.24[%], respectively. From the comparison, the relevance of proposed method is validated. For the transient stability analysis, an application method of the proposed model is presented, and the transient stability performance index, which describes system stabilization effect of SMES at disturbance, is also suggested, and optimal site selection method of SMES is presented. In the viewpoint of the voltage stability, system stabilization criterion of local bus is presented from P­V curve, and then optimal site which can maximize the voltage stabilization of the whole power system, is decided from the proposed voltage stability performance index.

This study was conducted to develope an evaluation system for sustainable conservation of old trees with historic and traditional values in rural areas. Existing evaluation system was modified through field application of 10 old trees and expert research twice for development of new evaluation system. 4 evaluation items in 10 evaluation items were deleted by first expert research. Some items are proposed to offer a figure explanation by second expert research. End-developed evaluation items are consisted of 6 items ((1) Ground State, (2) Blight, Harmful Insects, (3) Tree Form, (4) Canopy Vitality, (5) Bark, (6) Damage) reflecting the order of importance evaluation. Old trees evaluation system developed in this study is expected to be utilized continuously to conserve the old trees in the rural areas and gradually help to increases the historic and traditional values.

Appraisal is a basic archival function that analyzes values of records and determines the eventual disposal of records based upon their archival values. In electronic records environment, however, appraisal is different from traditional appraisal system that mainly is based on paper records. Since electronic records don't have physical entity and strongly depend on computer technologies, archivists fall into various dilemma in appraisal of electronic records. Moreover, because creation environment of electronic records is remarkably complex and diversified, appraisal of electronic records cannot be done until the later stages of the life cycle of the records. In Korea, appraisal system is founded on the Tables of Transaction for Records Scheduling through which disposal activities of all records are definite in a concrete form. However, there are little institutional infrastructures associated with appraisal of electronic records. Therefore this paper will intend to analyze characteristic features about appraisal of electronic records as a preliminary study for establishing appraisal system of electronic records in Korea. For this purpose, I have firstly compared creation environment of electronic records with traditional creation environment mainly based on paper records, and analyzed differences between appraisal of electronic records and traditional appraisal system based on paper records in view of recordness of electronic record. then I have examined functional appraisal that focuses on functions and activities in which the records are created and used, and discussed about main issues in relation to establishing appraisal system of electronic records.

Purpose: Focusing on the role of the special contract to collaborate the supply chain operations, this study investigates how the revenue sharing contract affects the performance of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI). Research design, data, and methodology: The optimization model is formulated to represent two stage supply chain system where the supplier and retailer manage the operations to maximize their own profits. Three supply chain models including the traditional system, VMI, and VMI with revenue sharing contract are compared in the numerical examples. Results: According to the numerical analysis, the entire supply chain system has greater profit under VMI than the traditional system, while VMI alone sacrifices the supplier's profit. With the proper sets of revenue share ratio and wholesale price discount rate, VMI with revenue sharing contract results in the increased profit for both supplier and retailer compared with VMI alone as well as the traditional system. Conclusions: The numerical examples imply that VMI, when it is combined with the revenue sharing contract, can be the effective collaboration program that satisfies every supply chain member. To make VMI with revenue sharing contract to be fair to all supply chain members, they need to agree on the appropriate contract content.

Object : Traditional Korean Medicine Diagnostic Support System(TKMDSS) is the diagnostic prescribing system based on ontology developed by Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. We monitored and assessed its usefulness and searched for improvements. Methods : We collected 10 cases of stroke inpatients of Dongguk University Ilsan Oriental Hospital. They were diagnosed by primary care physician and another researcher who monitored using "TKMDSS" respectively. We compared the process and results of two diagnosis. Results : The diagnostic concordance rate between primary care physician and researcher were pretty high. Most of the problems were caused by expressions on symptoms inappropriate use of terminology. The severity of symptoms and vague symptoms which is hard to be diagnosed should be reflected and measured in this system. Conclusions : The problems were about terminology and definition. The terminology should be defined accurately and in-depth detail so that anyone can get the right information. If the problems were modified, "TKMMSS" could be utilized as supportive measures for oriental medicine doctors and students.
