대칭적 의사결함처리요소 생성 기법에 의한 결함허용 VLSI 어레이의 신뢰도 향상과 실시간 재구성 (Reliability improvement and real-tiem reconfiguration of fault tolerant VLSI arrays using symmetrical pseudo faulty processing elements genration technique)

  • In this paper, we propose a symmetrical pseudo faulty processing elements genration technique to improve the overall reliability of arrays with fixed hardware resources on the fault tolerant VLSI arrays based on single-track switches. We have analyzed the reliability of fault tolerant VLSI arrays and designed control logic for real-tiem reconfiguration. Applying this technique to reconfiguration of VLSI 2-D arrays, we have found that the proposed scheme achieves a higher reliability than the previus methods of similar condition. And we have found that the results of reliability analyzed by mathematic computation are very close to simulated ones. Furthermore, the time overhead for reconfiguration is independent of the array size because the control for reconfiguration is distributively executed by each processing elements. And the proposed scheme has an advantage which maintained properties of VLSI arrays by keeping the locality of interconnections as high as possible even after the reconfiguration.

  • The phased array antenna has the ability to perform adaptive sampling by directing the radar beam without inertia in any direction. The adaptive sampling capability of the phased array antenna allows each sampling time interval to be varied for each target, depending on the acceleration of each target at any time. In this paper we design a three-dimensional adaptive tracking algorithm for the phased array radar system with a given set of measurement parameters. The tracking algorithm avoids taking unnecessarily frequent samples, while keeping the angular prediction error within a fraction of antenna beamwidth so that the probability of detection will not be degraded during a track update illuminations. In our algorithm, the target model and the sampling rate are selected depending on the target range and the target maneuver status which is determined by a maneuver detector. A detailed simulation is conducted to test the validity of our tracking algorithm for encounter geometries under various conditions of maneuver.

  • It is known that about 15 to 40 percent of total design time is spent on retrieving information such as standard parts handbook data, engineering equations, previous designs. This paper describes a knowledge management system for machine tool design. Product structuring, change management, and complex design knowledge management are possible through the developed system. The system can speed up the design process by making necessary data instantly available as it is needed and keeping track of all the relevant design information and knowledge including individual decisions, design intentions, documents, and drawings.

  • Obstacle avoidance of underwater robots based on a modified virtual force field algorithm is proposed in this paper. The VFF(Virtual Force Field) algorithm, which is widely used in the field of mobile robots, is modified for application to the obstacle avoidance of underwater robots. This Modified Virtual Force Field(MVFF) algorithm using the fuzzy lgoc can be used in moving obstacles avoidance. A fuzzy algorithm is devised to handle various situations which can be faced during autonomous navigation of underwater robots. The proposed obstacle avoidance algorithm has ability to handle multiple moving obstacles. Results of simulation show that the proposed algorithm can be efficiently applied to obstacle avoidance of the underwater robots.

소프트웨어 RAID 파일 시스템에서 오손 블록 교체시에 효율적인 캐슁 기법 (An efficient caching scheme at replacing a dirty block for softwre RAID filte systems)

  • The software RAID file system is defined as the system which distributes data redundantly across an aray of disks attached to each workstations connected on a high-speed network. This provides high throughput as well as higher availability. In this paper, we present an efficient caching scheme for the software RAID filte system. The performance of this schmem is compared to two other schemes previously proposed for convnetional file systems and adapted for the software RAID file system. As in hardware RAID systems, small-writes to be the performance bottleneck in softwre RAID filte systems. To tackle this problem, we logically divide the cache into two levels. By keeping old data and parity val7ues in the second-level cache we were able to eliminate much of the extra disk reads and writes necessary for write-back of dirty blocks. Using track driven simulations we show that the proposed scheme improves performance for both the average response time and the average system busy time.

  • Coal power plants are large, non-linear systems with numerous interactions between its component parts. In the analysis of such complex systems, dynamic simulation is recognized as a powerful method of keeping track of the myriad of interactions. This paper shows and discusses the developed analysis model, such as the forced draft fan the primary air fan, the furnace and burner system, air preheater and induced draft fan, etc. in accordance with BMCR condition of boiler using the Modular Modeling System(MMS) software.

  • A duplex stainless steel sheet with 1 wt.% gadolinium was fabricated for a neutron absorbing material with high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and low cost as well as high neutron absorption capability. The microstructure of the as-cast specimen has typical duplex phases including 31% ferrite and 69% austenite. Main alloy elements like chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), and gadolinium (Gd) are relatively uniformly distributed in the matrix. Gadolinium rich precipitates were present in the grains and at the grain boundaries. The solution treatment at $1070^{\circ}$ for 50 minutes followed by the hot-rolling above $950^{\circ}$ after keeping the sheet at $1200^{\circ}$ for 1.5 hours are important points of the optimum condition to produce a 6 mm-thick plate without cracking.

  • The main functions of suspension system of railway vehicle are isolating vibration from track irregularity to car-body for the Ride quality and keeping its stability with limitation of vehicle's movement. These two functions conflict with each other, then it is impossible to achieve both of performance with traditional passive suspension which has constant characteristics. So, to improve this situation the active suspension was suggested and in specially the semi-active suspension is noticed for its effectiveness on cost despite of its lower performance than full-active suspension. In this study the control logic made through LQG theory was designed with simplified vehicle model and variable damper model defined by $1^{st}$ order system, then the analysis of simulation results was done to understand influence on the performance of semi-active suspension with running conditions and response characteristics of variable damper.

  • 본 논문은 자동항로 추적(Track keeping control), 자동조타(Automatic steering), 자동 접이안(Automatic mooring control) 등으로 구성된 자동운항 시스템 중 자동조타장치의 성능 개선 알고리즘 개발에 대해 다루고 있다. 자동조타는 풍력 또는 조력 등의 영향으로부터 선박의 설정 항로와 실제 침로와의 차이를 계산하여 설정된 항로를 유지하며 항해하므로, 조타에 소요되는 선원의 지속적인 항해로 인한 운전 부담을 경감시키고 불필요한 타조작에 의한 항로 이탈을 줄임으로써 항해거리 단축과 연료비용을 절약할 수 있는 시스템이다. 선박의 모델링을 위하여 Nomoto 모델에 근거하여 전달함수를 구하고, 조종성능(Manoeuvirng) 편리성을 고려하여 타각 입력에 대한 선수각 응답으로 표시된 선박의 4자유도만을 고려한 선형 모델을 제안하고 선박 자동조타장치의 최대각과 타각율을 고려하여 Fuzzy제어기를 설계 하였고 PID제어기로 성능을 비교 분석하였다.

  • 선박 자율운항 시스템은 운항 안전성 확보, 운항능률의 향상, 선내 노동력 감소 및 작업환경 개선에 목표로 두고 있으며, 궁극적으로는 운항 경제성 확보를 통한 승선 인원의 최소화에 그 목적이 있다. 최근에는 적응제어방법 등을 응용하여 선박의 다양한 비선형성을 보상하고 선박의 희두각 유지제어, 항로 추적제어, 롤-타각제어, 선박 위치제어, 선박 자동접이안 등의 분야에 관한 연구가 수행중이며 실제 선박을 대상으로 한 응용연구가 진행중에 있다. 선박의 Steering Machine에 의해 조정되는 Rudder angle과 선박의 회두각의 관계와 Load Condition은 선박운항 파라메터에 영향을 주는 비선형적인 요소로서 작용한다 또한 외란요소인 파도의 유속과 방향, 풍속과 풍량 등은 선박의 운항을 힘들게 하는 주요 요인이 된다. 따라서 선박 자율운항 시스템에는 다양한 비선형성을 극복할 수 있는 강인한 제어 알고리즘을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 퍼지 알고리즘을 이용하여 선박의 비선형적인 요인 및 외란을 극복할 수 있는 선박 자율운항 시스템을 설계하고 시뮬레이션을 통행 제안된 알고리즘의 우수성을 확인하였다.
