Purpose: This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to assess the effects of glycine powder air-polishing (GPAP) in patients during supportive periodontal therapy (SPT) compared to hand instrumentation and ultrasonic scaling. Methods: The authors searched for randomized clinical trials in 8 electronic databases for relevant studies through November 15, 2019. The eligibility criteria were as follows: population, patients with chronic periodontitis undergoing SPT; intervention and comparison, patients treated by GPAP with a standard/nozzle type jet or mechanical instrumentation; and outcomes, bleeding on probing (BOP), patient discomfort/pain (assessed by a visual analogue scale [VAS]), probing depth (PD), gingival recession (Rec), plaque index (PI), clinical attachment level (CAL), gingival epithelium score, and subgingival bacteria count. After extracting the data and assessing the risk of bias, the authors performed the meta-analysis. Results: In total, 17 studies were included in this study. The difference of means for BOP in patients who received GPAP was lower (difference of means: -8.02%; 95% confidence interval [CI], -12.10% to -3.95%; P<0.00001; I2=10%) than that in patients treated with hand instrumentation. The results of patient discomfort/pain measured by a VAS (difference of means: -1.48, 95% CI, -1.90 to -1.06; P<0.001; I2=83%) indicated that treatment with GPAP might be less painful than ultrasonic scaling. The results of PD, Rec, PI, and CAL showed that GPAP had no advantage over hand instrumentation or ultrasonic scaling. Conclusions: The findings of this study suggest that GPAP may alleviate gingival inflammation more effectively and be less painful than traditional methods, which makes it a promising alternative for dental clinical use. With regards to PD, Rec, PI, and CAL, there was insufficient evidence to support a difference among GPAP, hand instrumentation, and ultrasonic scaling. Higher-quality studies are still needed to assess the effects of GPAP.

This study was designed to evaluate the effects of feral peach (Prunus persica Batsch var. davidiana Max.) sugar extracts (peach extracts) and Gomchwi (Ligularia fischeri) extracts on physicochemical properties of Woorimatdag 1breast marinated with red pepper sauce during cold storage for 18 days. Experimental groups were divided into five groups; CON: marinated breast with basic red pepper sauce, GP15 and GP30: added with 15% and 30% of peach extracts into CON, respectively, GG5 and GG10: added with 5% and 10% of Gomchwi extracts into CON, respectively. Moisture and fat contents of GP30 were lower than those of CON, GG5, and GG10 (P<0.05). Cholesterol content of GP15 was similar to that of CON, while it was lower than the other treatments. GP15 and GP30 showed significantly lower pH than the others. Especially, GP30 showed significantly lower total aerobic bacteria count than other treatment on day 10. During storage, peach and Gomchwi extracts were not significantly effect on meat shear force. Overall acceptability of GP15 was higher than that of GG10 at day 10 and 15 (P<0.05). These results indicated that the treatment of peach extracts has a tendency to improve the storage stability maintaining the sensory preference of marinated Woorimatdag 1 breast compared to Gomchwi extracts. Further study would be needed to identify the specific flavor-enhancing factors of GP treatments.

Raw oysters were treated at $10^{\circ}C$ and $22^{\circ}C/350$ Mpa/15 min, and microbial counts and quality were measured during storage of 14 days at $10^{\circ}C$. Total viable cell count (TVCC) in untreated oyster increased greatly during storage from starting inoculum of $1.6\times10^2\;CFU/mL$, and reached to $5.6\times10^2\;CFU/mL$ after 4 days of storage. TVCC of the pressure-treated was about $10^1\;CFU/mL$ right after high hydrostatic pressure treatment and increased slowly during storage, and about $10^3\;CFU/mL$ even after 7 days of storage. Lactic acid bacteria count (LABC) in the untreated was increased greatly during storage from starting inoculum of $3.3\times10^3\;CFU/mL$ at 3 days of storage and $7.2\times10^4\;CFU/mL$ after 4 days of storage. LABC in the pressure-treated was detected only after 5 days of storage, and about $10^2\;CFU/mL$ after 8 days of storage. The pH of the untreated was 6.19 and decreased gradually during storage, and 5.83 after 4 days of storage. The pH of the pressure-treated showed little change during storage, and 6.07, 6.03 and 5.82 after storage of 4, 8 and 14 days, respectively. Volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) in the untreated was 16.8 mg%, and maintained almost constant until 1 day of storage, and then increased suddenly, and 30.1 mg% after 4 days of storage. VBN of the pressure-treated stayed unchanged during storage, and about 20 and 23 mg% even after 4 and 8 days of storage, respectively. Hunter $L^*,\;a^*\;and\;b^*$ values were increased until 2 days of storage and then showed no change during storage. Demerit score was the lowest in the thawed raw oyster, and then in the increasing order of the pressure-treated (4 day and 8 day storage) and the untreated (4 day storage).
It is very distinctive that sigumjang meju was produced with smoking after molding. Every shapes of traditional sigumjang meju gathered from Kyeongsangbukdo were doughnut types. Fermentation time were $60{\sim}90$ days. Aerobic bacteria were $6.8{\times}10^7\;cfu/g$, and anaerobic bacteria, yeasts, molds count $3.2{\times}10^6\;cfu/g,\;1.0{\times}10^6\;cfu/g\;and\;4.0{\times}10^6\;cfu/g$, respectively. Analysis showed: moisture content, $10.5{\pm}2.6%$; fat content, $2.9{\pm}1.1%$; protein content, $8.3{\pm}0.7%$; ash content, $3.8{\pm}0.7%$; pH, $6.0{\pm}0.5$; L-value, $54.5{\pm}4.7$; a-value, $+3.3{\pm}0.7$; and b-value, $+10.7{\pm}2.0$. K content was the most in quantity among the minerals in sigumjang meju. Maltose was most abundant component among the tested sugars followed by mannitol. Total content of amino acid was $1524.9{\pm}1295.3\;mg%$. Proline was the most abundant component among the amino acids. The ratio of essential amino acid was $30.0{\pm}12.9%$. The principal fatty acids were 18:2, 18:1 and 16:0. Saturated fatty acid and mono unsaturated fatty acid were $23.2{\pm}1.9%\;and\;23.5{\pm}5.2%$, respectively. The PUFA/SFA was $2.3{\pm,}0.3$ which higher than 1.
Gamma irradiation as a new physical treatment was applied to comparative investigates with a conventional ethylene oxide fumigant on the microbiological and physicochemical qualities of selected spices and dry vegetables such as powdered red pepper, black pepper, welsh onion, onion, garlic, carrot, korean cabbage and instant ramyon soup. The microorganisms contaminated in the sample, including total viable count, thermophilic bacteria, aerobic spore and fungi counts between the $10^4\;to\;10^6/g$ range. Coliforms were found only in black pepper and welsh onion powder as the $10^2\;to\;10^3/g$ level. A radiation dose of 7 to 10 KGy were sterilized completely to the contaminated microorganisms, while ehthylene oxide (E.O.) fumigation reduced of them to the $10^3/g$ level. An optimum dose of irradiation was less detrimental than E.O. fumigation to the physicochemical properties of the sample. Sensory evaluation after three months of storage at room temperatures showed that the overall acceptability of irradiated sample was higher than that of the non treated control as well as E.O. fumigated samples. Comparison gamma irradiation with E.O. gas treatment showed that E.O. treatment was less effective than radiation in cotrolling microbial contamination of spices and vegetables.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of sawdust bedding barn on manure handing, management labour and physiological aspect of dairy cows, and then to establish the criteria on the optimum utilization method of sawdust bedding barn. 46 tie stall barns and 49 sawdust bedding barns were surveyed to cmopare the milk productivity between two different barns, and also 5 tie stall barns, 15 sawdust bedding barns and 1 rice hull bedding barn were selected to study the utilization situation of sawdust barn in Kyung-Ki province area. The major results obtained were as follows; 1. The roof material of sawdust barn were consisted of 66% vinyl house, 23% PVC light and 11% slate and galvanum coated tin. Most of the floor structure was earth ground with the rate of the approximately 82%. 2. The average occupied area of sawdust bed per cow was 15.2 $m^2$, depth that 30 cm and the utilization period was 12 months. 3. Milk Yield was significantly higher at sawdust barn than at tie stall barn(P<0.01). Bacterial and somatic cell count in raw milk were less at the sawdust barn than in tie stall barn. However, there was not significance difference between two barns. 4. The labour hour needed to cow management in the sawdust barn was approximately 48% of that of tie stall barn. 5. The temperature and moisture content measured in sawdust bed were closely affected by seasonal ambient temperature. The skin and hair of cow were much cleaner at the PVC light roofed sawdust barn than any other roof materials. 6. The additives used for improving of fermentation did not show any effect on temperature and moisture content in sawdust bed. When the ambient temperature was $30.4^{\circ}C$, the surface temperature of measured 1 cm above the sawdust bed was $12.2^{\circ}C$ lower and the temperature of 100 cm above the sawdust bed was $2.4^{\circ}C lower under shading net facility than that of vinyl roofed one.7. The hoof length of miking cow was 7.95 cm in tie stall and 9.19 cm in sawdust barn with high significance (P<0.01). And disease occurence such as mastitis and foot-rot tended to decrease in the sawdust barn. 8. The number of total bacteria and coliform bacteria were less in the sawdust bed compared with earth ground resting area. And a parasite strongyloides papillosus was detected but without any infected cow. 9. The nitrate($NO_3N$) content in non-roofed earth ground resting area and earth ground under the sawdust bed was likely to pollute the ground water. 10. In economic point of view, rice hull bedding barn was the cheapest among different systems. And in the sawdust bedding barn PVC light + slate roofed barn was most desirable, and vinyl roofed one the least.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the microbial contamination levels on food service in university and to provide the information of microbial contamination to improve food safety. A total of 288 samples were collected during summer and winter season between 2006 and 2008 from 4 food services located in the university in Western Gyeongnam and were used to detect sanitary indicator bacteria [aerobic plate count (APC), coliform, and Escherichia coli] and pathogenic bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp.). As a result, APC and coliform for hand and kitchen utensils which are used often by the employee were detected at high levels of 1.1~5.5 and 1.3~5.3 log CFU/($100\;cm^2$, hand), respectively. The contamination levels of APC and coliform in cooked foods and drinking water were 0.8~6.4 and 1.3~5.0 log CFU/(g, mL), respectively. Especially, the cooked foods showed the highest contamination for APC (2.1~6.4 log CFU/g) and coliform (1.0~5.0 log CFU/g). We think the reason that the cooked foods may be contaminated with APC and coliform on cooking process by using employee's hand and kitchen utensils. Moreover, S. aureus for hand and kitchen utensils was detected at levels of 2.8~3.0 and 2.0~2.3 log CFU/(g, hand), but Salmonella spp. was not detected. According to the above results, contamination levels of the samples were mostly decreased irrespective of summer and winter season. The results obtained indicated that it is necessary to periodic monitoring for microorganism contamination and education about personal and environmental hygiene to employee for ensuring food safety of food service in university.
Mak-kimchi (shredded kimchi) which was prepared in a commercial factory was packed in bottle (200 g) under vacuum (560 mmHg) or atmosphere, and chemical characteristics and microbiological parameters were monitored during storage at 5, 15 and $25^{\circ}C$, respectively. Optimum ripening time of the kimchi at different temperature were 2 days at $25^{\circ}C$, 5 days at $15^{\circ}C$ and more than 60 days at $5^{\circ}C$. By vacuum treatment pH and acidity changes in kimchi were considerably retarded. The vacuum of each bottle released within 1 or 2 days at 25 or $15^{\circ}C$, respectively but the pack at $5^{\circ}C$ maintained more than 380 mmHg vacuum for 36 days and then the vacuum slowly released. The colour of kimchi (lightness, redness, yellowness) in bottle increased sharply at $25^{\circ}C$ and $15^{\circ}C$ but sustained a stable level with vacuum treatment at $5^{\circ}C$. The range of total viable count of kimchi in bottle was $10^7{\sim}10^{10}/ml$. The number decreased by storage temperature drop to $5^{\circ}C$ and even more vacuum treatment than atmosphere treatment at $5^{\circ}C$. Lactobacillus brevis, L. plantarum, L. acidophilus, Aerococcus viridans and Streptococcus faecium subsp. casseliflavus were identified in bottled kimchi and L. brevis and L. plantarum contributed to the main function during kimchi fermentation. Those main lactic acid bacteria decreased in numbers at $5^{\circ}C$ than 25 or $15^{\circ}C$ and even more declined in case of vacuum treatment.
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of probiotics supplementation on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, fecal concentrations of Lactobacillus and Escherichia coli, emission of noxious gases from the feces, and circulating concentrations of the blood cells in early-finishing pigs. A total of sixty pigs [(Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire) ${\times}$ Duroc] (initial body weight 56.48 ${\pm}$ 1.66 kg) were used for the 28 days feeding trial. Dietary treatments included 1) CON (basal diet), 2) P1 (CON + 0.1% Agariemycetes) and 3) P2 (CON + 0.2% Agariemycetes). There were three dietary treatments with five replicate pens per treatment and four pigs per pen. There was no significant difference in ADG (average dairy gain) among the treatments (P>0.05). The gain/feed ratio was higher in P2 than CON (P<0.05). The P2 showed the highest digestibility of dry matter and energy (P<0.05). No significant difference was observed in the fecal Lactobacillus counts but fecal Escherichia coli population of P2 was lower than that of CON (P<0.05). The ammonia, $H_2S$ and total mercaptan was higher in P1 and P2 than CON (P<0.05). Blood characteristics were not affected by probiotics (P>0.05) supplementation. In conclusion, the results showed that dietary supplementation of probiotics at 0.2% level affected gain/feed ratio, dry matter and energy digestibility; reduced fecal Escherichia coli and emission of fecal noxious gases in finishing pigs.
This study was carried out to investigate changes of microbiological and sensory properties in various heat-treated market milks (LTLT, HTST, and UHT milks) stored at 10$^{\circ}C$ during 15d. Titratable acidity (TA) increased with storage, while pH tended to decrease. During the initial 9d, no difference was found in TA, however, after 9d, it was slightly higher in HTST and UHT milks than that in LTLT milk. In LTLT and HTST milks, total viable cells and psychrotrophs were dramatically increased during storage, In addition coliform and pathogenic bacteria were found at 12 and 15d. In UHT milk, total viable cells were found only at 15d. In sensory evaluation, LTLT and HTST milks developed a negligible off-flavor until 9d. At 12d, it became stronger in HTST milk than that in LTLT milk. In UHT milk, off-flavor was detected at 9d and increased rapidly there-after. The degree of off-flavor was little higher in HTST and UHT milks, compared with that of LTLT milk after 9d storage. These observations indicated that LTLT and HTST milks may not be microbiologically acceptable after 5d, while off-flavor was not detectable until 9d, In comparison, UHT milk keeps a good quality in microorganism until 15d, however, it may not be accepted in sensory aspect after 9d storage.

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
