  • This paper presents a new approach regarding thermal characteristics associated with a design of the high efficiency motor. Electrical conduction materials, such as coil and aluminum embedded in the core generate high heat exerting negative influence on both lifetime and performance of machine. Thus, it is necessary to design high efficiency motor considering heat transfer in order to improve motor performance and to be protected against overheating. In this paper, firstly, numerical analysis of electromagnetic field is carried out by the nonlinear transient finite element method (FEM). Secondly, the linear static FEA of magneto-thermal field is implemented by applying source current computed by the nonlinear transient analysis. FE results are validated in terms of electromagnetics and heat transfer by experiments. And then, the pseudo-transient topology optimization using a multi-objective function is performed. The proposed method is applied to a squirrel cage single-phase induction motor of the scroll compressor.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to prove that if a real hypersurfaces M of a complex space form satisfies ${\nabla}_{\xi}S$=0 and $S{\xi}=\sigma\xi$ for some constant on $\sigma$ on M, then the structure vector field $\xi$ is principal, where S denotes the Ricci tensors of M.

  • In this study, the shape of suspension load beam for NFR(Near Field Recording) was proposed, which was designed using Topology optimization based on Homogenization method. Lens and Micro-mirror are attached to the end of the suspension load beam for collection and control the light, which increasing the system mass. Increment of the system mass cause to decrease the tracking stiffness mode frequency. (omitted)

  • Let $F$ be a set of distributions on R with the topology of weak convergence, and let $A$ be the $\sigma$-field generated by the open sets. We denote by $F_1^\infty$ the space consisting of all infinite sequence $(F_1, F_2, \cdots), F_n \in F and R_1^\infty$ the space consisting of all infinite sequences $(x_1, x_2, \cdots)$ of real numbers. Take the $\sigma$-field $F_1^\infty$ to be the smallest $\sigma$-field of subsets of $F_1^\infty$ containing all finite-dimensional rectangles and take $B_1^\infty$ to be the Borel $\sigma$-field $R_1^\infty$.

  • In this paper, the magnetic coupling between an induction cooker and a metallic pot is studied for various winding topologies. Effects of the winding orientation on the power transfer capability and on the emitted magnetic field under the cooker are discussed and compared. A novel topology inspired by permanent magnet Halbach array is proposed. This consists in coupling in both horizontal and vertical directions and to create an asymmetric field in order to reduce the emission under the cooker.

  • In this paper, w describe partitioning large circuits into multiple chips on the programmable FPCB for rapid prototyping. FPCBs consists of areas for FPGAs for logic and interconnect components, and the routing topology among them are predetermined. In the partition problem for FPCBs, the number of wires ofr routing among chips is fixed, which is an additonal constraints to the conventional partition problem. In order to deal with such aconstraint properly we first define a new partition problem, so called the topologybased partition problem, and then propose a heuristic method. The heuristic method is based on the simulated annealing and clustering technique. The multi-level tree clustering technique is used to obtain faster and better prtition results. In the experimental results for several test circuits, the restrictions for FPCB were all satisfied and the needed execution time was about twice the modified K-way partition method for large circuits.

  • To minimize the compliance of frame, a method to optimize the topology of bracing system in a frame is presented. The frame is first filled uniformly with a truss-like continuum, in which there are an infinite number of members. The frame and truss-like continuum are analysed by the finite element method altogether. By optimizing the distribution of members in the truss-like continuum over the whole design domain, the optimal bracing pattern is determined. As a result, the frame's lateral stiffness is enforced. Structural compliance and displacement are decreased greatly with a smaller increase in material volume. Since optimal bracing systems are described by the distribution field of members, rather than by elements, fewer elements are needed to establish the detailed structure. Furthermore, no numerical instability exists. Therefore it has high calculation effectiveness.

  • This research presents a topology optimization for manipulating the main heat flow in coupled magneto-thermal systems. The heat generated by eddy currents is considered in the design domain assuming an adiabatic boundary. For a practical optimization, the convection condition is considered in the topological process of the thermal field. Topology design sensitivity is derived by employing the discrete system equations combined with the adjoint variable method. As numerical examples, a simple iron and a C-core design heated-up by eddy currents demonstrate the strength of the proposed approach to solve the coupled problem.
