  • Each country has its preferred image and how to convey it effectively. The study aims to find traditional Korean makeup methods and ways to effectively convey a preferred image. Among the ancient manuscripts of Joseon Dynasty, the book " Galgap Collection " has ten ancestors who express their favorite eyebrows in the form of a grandfather. In this study, we applied tens of thousands of words to the actual model to solve the problem and make up the methods of literature, the Internet, and example. The model stimuli were measured by conducting a street experiment of 10 makeup experts and 70 men and women's blinds. The result was that the " Gaewon- .aemi " type seemed to be the best, attractive and most consistent with the shape of the thinking eyebrows and the current fashion of eyebrows. In a variety of nonverbal ways expressed in the classics, the study looked at ways to use visual poetry to communicate effectively. • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: In the United States, one in every 5 children is obese with greater likelihood in low-income households. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic may have accelerated disparities in child obesity risk factors, such as poor dietary intake and increased sedentary behaviors, among low-income families because of financial difficulties, social isolation and other struggles. This study reveals insights into nutrition and health challenges among low-income families of young children in West Texas to better understand needs and develop interventions. SUBJECTS/METHODS: In-depth individual interviews were performed via Zoom among 11 families of children under the age of 3. A semi-structured interview guide was developed to explore 3 areas: changes in (1) dietary intake and (2) sedentary behaviors and (3) families' preferences regarding a parent nutrition education program. Each interview was audiorecorded, transcribed, and coded using MaxQDA software. RESULTS: Eating together as a family become challenging because of irregular work schedules during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most parents stated that their children's dietary habits shifted with an increased consumption of processed foods. Many parents are unable to afford healthful foods and have utilized food and nutrition assistance programs to help feed their families. All families reported that their children's screen time substantially increased compared to the pre-pandemic times. Moreover, the majority of parents did not associate child screen time with an obesity risk, so this area could be of particular interest for future interventions. Meal preparation ideas, remote modality, and early timing were identified as key intervention strategies. CONCLUSIONS: Online nutrition interventions that emphasize the guidelines for child screen time and regular meal routines will be effective and promising tools to reach low-income parents for early childhood health promotion and obesity prevention.

  • In "Lu's Spring and Autumn", the ideas of all the schools before Qin Dynasty were compiled and the diagram of the Trinity of heaven, earth and man using the category of Yin-yang and the five elements of the universe since the ancient times was established. This can be assessed to be the blueprint for a unified empire closely connecting time and space, and objects in heaven and on earth centered around human beings. In specific, Yin-yang and the five elements of the universe were combined to categorize and schematize all things in the universe, and connect them to human affairs at the same time. Its contents convert almost all academic fields including politics, economics, society, military, astronomy, geography, medical science, education and history. Particularly, the documents popular during the age of civil wars and the ideas of Jikha scholars were synthesized and specified. Yet, it went beyond simple collection of the thoughts and documents since the ancient times in terms of contents and forms, and the method of 12 months for 1 year was selected and prescript was expanded to the various fields of politics and the society. In the Twelve principle, Yin-yang and the five elements, and the ten celestial stems and the earthly ones were combined, the contradiction from the process was solved, and the Rules of Four Seasons Thought was completed. Therefore, even though some parts of the idea of Yin-yang and the five elements in "Lu's Spring and Autumn" is found here and there from other documents, the unificative systematization of the whole has an important meaning in the history of thought. In summary, it has been proved that the Rules of Four Seasons Thought in "Lu's Spring and Autumn" was not limited to the physical unity of Yin-yang and the five elements of the universe, but qualitatively specified particularly in the aspects of agriculture from the people's side and politics from a leader's position.

  • In this study, the concept of 'Musim' presented by Baegun Hwasang was analyzed from the viewpoint of a bibliography. Major findings are as follows: First, it is reasonable to translate 'Musim' into Korean to mean (1) 'free from cares', (2) 'there is noting called a heart', and (3) 'no anxieties' according to the context of praises. Second, Musim by Baegun means 'calm mind without any trembles in ordinary times', 'unload any worries', and 'the spirit of awakening'. Such concepts of Musim agree with the praises of 'Awakening by seeing through a person's own heart' presented by Dalma Josa, and 'Unloading any worries' presented by Buddha. Therefore it is understood that Musim is the mental state of 'being free from cares which seek and hold', and Baegun Hwasang presents his experiential awakening 'by keeping his mind calm without any trembles in ordinary times, unloading any worries, and freeing himself from cares'. Third, it is confirmed that Musim by Baegun when compared with the praises presented by 'Gwageo 7 Buls' and 'Seocheon 6 Josas' in Jikji, firmly holds the ideas of Buddha's 'Unloading any worries' and Seocheon Josa's 'Neutral perspective based on double negations'. Therefore, Baegun Hwasang's 'Musimseon' which especially emphasizes 'Musim' is the method of meditation which most clearly inherited the nature of Dalma Seonjong or Yukjo Hyeneung, and Imjejong's meditation.

  • Purpose: In order to use a word as academic terminology, we must first take a look at the meaning of that word as it is commonly used and then consider whether or not the connotation of that word is suitable to be used as academic terminology. Presently, the word Pumjil(品質) is being used as academic terminology occupying an important position in the field of business administration in Korea and is usually translated into English as 'quality'. The same is true in Japan. However, as is the case with many Korean words, the meaning that the word implies has a tendency to change gradually over time. This tendency can account for the changes or additions to the meaning a word connotes. Methods: This dissertation aims to escape from such biased ideas and study the meaning of 'Pum-Jil品質' from the view of humanities and exegetics. Then the natural definition of the word as far as business administration is concerned can be considered. Results: 'Pum-Jil品質' has been used amid changes in modern times(historic texts in both Korea and China. In Korea particularly, the word was used in the royal court until comparatively modern times.), and now it is also widely used in the field of business administration. In this process of change, a notable point is that 'Pum-Jil品質', which was originally used to mean 'nature or character of a man', took on a new meaning, 'a certain quality of a thing or a good'. Conclusion: 'Pum-Jil品質' should require basic functional 'quality' of goods or services as a prerequisite. And the functional quality should meet consumers' needs, as the pledge (trust; 信賴) for quality is between suppliers and consumers. Without consumer's trust for goods, the relationship between suppliers and consumers cannot be maintained. So goods must exchange with trust, not expenses. In conclusion, we believe it is reasonable to understand 'Pum-Jil品質' based on the meaning of 'evidence or similar rating for pledge (trust)' from the view of humanities and exegetics. In conclusion, we believe it is reasonable to understand 'Pum-Jil品質' based on the meaning of 'evidence or similar rating for pledge (trust)' from the view of humanities and exegetics.
