  • This research is aimed at offering a fundamental data for the adjustment of cadastral inconsistency of administrative boundary areas from this time onward by analyzing actual conditions of cadastral inconsistency at the study areas by the use of digital topographic map and digital cadastral map of si-gun-gu boundary area. As a result of examining the actual condition of cadastral inconsistency at the surveyed areas, the extent of cadastral inconsistency of the neighboring administrative boundary areas was assessed as ${\pm}3.15m$ of RMSE on X coordinates and also assessed as ${\pm}2.85\;m$ of RMSE on Y coordinates; in addition, RMSE of the neighboring district of the administrative boundary areas on X coordinates was assessed as ${\pm}1.33\;m$, and ${\pm}0.75\;m$ of RMSE on Y coordinates respectively-thus, this research could suggest the fact that there has arisen a lot of cadastral inconsistency areas at administrative boundary areas.

  • In this paper, the real scenario of water situation (e.g. water management, water availability and flooding) in an irrigated rice cultivation area in Suphanburi Province, Central-West Thailand is discussed together with the NDVI time series data. The result shown is derived by our classifier named 'Peak Detector Algorithm (PDA)'. The method discriminated 5 classes in terms of irrigation activities and cropping intensities, namely, Non-irrigated, Poorly irrigated - 1 crop/year, Irrigated - 2 crops/year, Irrigated - 3 crops/year and Others (no cultivation happens in a year or other land covers). The overall accuracy of all classified results (1999-2001) is around $77\%$ against independent ground truth data (general activities or function of an area). In the classified results, spatial and temporal inconsistency appeared significantly in the Western and Southern areas of Suphanburi. The inconsistency resulted mainly by anomaly of rainfall pattern in 1999 and their temporal irrigation activity. The algorithm however, was proved that it could detect actual change of irrigation status in a year.

  • The concept of a hyperpresentation, as an extension of a hypermedia, is the presentation in which time-varying multimedia presentations are dynamically linked together and a hyperlink's context can be changed over time at any time during a continuous presentation. While this concept provides users with a flexible and powerful tool for their descriptions of the multimedia presentation, inconsistency problems in the synchronized presentations connected by hyper links can be introduced. This paper introduces a method of describing the hyperpresentation using Petri Net and proposes a methods of detecting inconsistent hyper link loop in the hyperpresentation description.

  • This paper investigates the time-inconsistent agent's optimal consumption and investment problem under inflation risk. The agents' discount factor is governed by hyperbolic discounting, which has a random time to change. We impose the inflation risk which plays a crucial role in long-term financial planning. We derive the semi-analytic solution to the problem of sophisticated agents when the time horizon is finite.

  • Using stereo images with ephemeris data from the Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-1 electro-optical camera (KOMPSAT-1 EOC), we performed geometric modeling for three-dimensional (3-D) positioning and evaluated its accuracy. In the geometric modeling procedures, we used ephemeris data included in the image header file to calculate the orbital parameters, sensor attitudes, and satellite position. An inconsistency between the time information of the ephemeris data and that of the center of the image frame was found, which caused a significant offset in satellite position. This time inconsistency was successfully adjusted. We modeled the actual satellite positions of the left and right images using only two ground control points and then achieved 3-D positioning using the KOMPSAT-1 EOC stereo images. The results show that the positioning accuracy was about 12-17 m root mean square error (RMSE) when 6.6 m resolution EOC stereo images were used along with the ephemeris data and only two ground control points (GCPs). If more accurate ephemeris data are provided in the near future, then a more accurate 3-D positioning will also be realized using only the EOC stereo images with ephemeris data and without the need for any GCPs.

  • Biologists are pursuing genetics related researches that can provide the core information to understand a certain cancer or inherent diseases. However, biological experimentations can produce different results by the difference of various elements or environments at the time of experimentation and/or difference of interpretations. Therefore, currently existing research results can possibly provide different information. These inconsistency can be found through integration of gene information. Biologists can save their time and efforts to find certain gene information if the gene information is integrated without inconsistency. An efficient gene integration and augmentation scheme of gene information generated through different researches is introduced in this paper.

  • Korean cadastral system keeps graphical maps made by the plane table method from 1910's. The fact is that the graphical maps grafted on paper cover about 95% of the whole land (MOGAHA, 1999). The needs are arising to transform the graphical cadastre to a digital one in compliance with modem technologies. Korean government has already digitise the old maps until last year. A nation-wide land information system, Parcel-based Land Information System, was established upon the digitised map database. However, the accuracy of the digitised coordinates hardly meet the citizens' needs because it cannot exceed that of the paper maps. The definite solution will be surveying all the parcels again and making new digital maps. However, commencing a project for resurveying 34 million parcels will require enormous amount of time and manpower. The strategy should be dividing the country into county-wise or grid-wise pieces and surveying one piece by one piece. Municipal governments of counties, cities or urban districts will be the propelling bodies of the project but the costs will hardly be affordable at a time. For the purpose of resolving the financial problem, each municipality can split its own project into smaller pieces by year base. There is accordingly a great possibility to create inconsistency over the divided project areas caused by different techniques applied, different equipments used and/or mismatches between the project borders. It provides some merits at the same time. The people in project completion areas will be satisfied with the enhanced accuracy and feel safe in land transaction and, in turn, soundly improves overall nation-wide economic situation. Therefore, the main issue of the thesis shows how to make the cadastral re-survey project scalable. Guidelines for how to perform the projects will be derived from a experienced case.

  • In order to enhance the performance, cursor stability, which is a variant of isolation lvel 2 in relational DBMSs, has been widely used in place of isolation level 3, which uses strict two phase locking. However, cursor stability is much less usable in object-relational DBMSs (ORDBMSs) because navigational applications in ORDBMSs can suffer from critical inconsistency problems such as dangling pointers, lost updates, and reading inconsistent complex objects. In this paper, we propose a new isolation level, navigation stability, that prevents the inconsistency problems of cursor stability for navigational applications, while avoiding significant degradation of the concurrency of level 3. First, we analyze the inconsistency problems of cursor stability for navigational applications. Second, we define navigation stability as an extension of cursor stability and show that it solves those inconsistency problems of cursor stability in ORDBMSs. For workloads consisting of transactions of long duration, compared with level 3, the throughput of navigation stability is enhanced by up to 200%; the average response time reduced by as much as 55%; and the abort ratio reduced by as much as 77%. From these results, we conclude that navigation stability is a useful isolation level in ORDBMSs that can be used in place of isolation level 3 to improve the performance and concurrency without significantly sacrificing consistency.

  • This paper presents an authoring system for users to create and edit multimedia documents more easily. Our system supports dynamic authoring to feedback the inconsistency that could be occurred when users authorize and flexible media synchronization. For these, we define a new time relation based on causal relation and provide an internal representation using trees and structured document parsing. The system consists of the components such as visual interface, parsing, and presentation engine. It has been implemented on Microsoft Windows 95 with Visual C++.

  • This paper propose Adaptive Maintenance as a new type of maintenance for machine failures which are unpredictable. A purpose of adpative maintenance is to decrease inconsistency. In order to pick up some of problems the traditional maintenance policy, We discussed Time Based Maintenance(TBM) and Condition Based Maintenance(CBM) with Bath-Tub Curve. By using Machine Condition Diagnosis Technique (CDT), Monitored condition maintenance deals with the dynamic decision making for diagnosis procedures at maintenance and caution level. Adaptive Maintenance is a powerful tool for Total Production Maintenance(TPM).
