  • This paper proposes a new design specification-based band fault modelling technique that can test design specification in a time domain. The band fault model is defined and the conditions of band fault model are gained as normal operation regions are defined. And the conditions of band fault model are used in a 5.25GHz low noise amplifier, then 9 band fault models that can detect hard and parametric faults of active and passive devices are obtained.

  • This paper considers the problem of determining a set of stabilizing first order controller gains, for a given linear time invariant plant, that meets or exceeds closed loop step response specifications. The method utilizes two recent results: For a given system, (1) finding a set of stabilizing first order controller gains and (2) the relationship between time response (overshoot and speed) and the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial. The method allows us to extract a subset of first order controller gains that meets stability as well as time domain performance requirements. The computations involved are the intersections of two dimensional sets described by linear and quadratic inequalities in the controller design space. It is illustrated by examples.

  • This paper presents I-PD controller design using LQR method in a two-inerita motor system to satisfy the design specification in time domain. And to provide a systematic LQ analysis for two-inerita motor system. The tuning parameters of LQ(I-PD) controller are determinated by the relationships between the design parameters of the overshoot and the settling time which are design specifications in time domain, and the weighting factors Q and R in LQR we can achieve the performance-robustness in time domain as well as the stability-robustness.

  • In the paper, we present a practical design tool which allows us to design PID types and the first order lead/lag compensators incorporating the step response requirements in the stability. For a given plant transfer function of arbitrary order, this program provides a set of controller gains that satisfies both stability and time domain performances. This implies that even if one selects any controller parameters inside the set, the closed loop system with the controller gains meets the design objectives. This tool based on Matlab and GUI will be very useful for control design in the controller parameter space, especially when time domain requirement is given.

  • A digital state feedback control method for the current mode control of DC-DC converters is proposed in this paper. This approach can precisely achieve interleaved current sharing among the converter modules. As the controller design and system analysis are performed in the time domain, the proposed method can easily satisfy the required converter specification by using the pole placement technique. The digital state feedback controller in the continuous and discrete time domain is derived for the robust tracking control. For the verification of the proposed control scheme, a parallel module bi-directional converter in a prototype 42V/14V hybrid automotive power system, which is a design example in the continuous time domain, and a parallel module buck converter, which is a design example in the discrete time domain, are implemented using a TMS320F2812 digital signal processor (DSP).

  • Before cables are constructed, tower of suspension bridge is behaved as a cantilever type. Buffeting occured by unsteady loading of the tower due to velocity fluctuation in the oncoming flow has a wind velocity consistent with fundamental frequency of the tower and may give rise to large response by the tower resonance. To reduce the dynamic response by buffeting, the behavior of tower with TMD(Tuned Mass Damper) has studied using finite element method in time domain. The buffeting was obtained by transforming the velocity spectrum in frequency domain to random variable in certain time domain. The most probable maximum displacement which can be occured during the time interval was obtained using peak factor. The optimum location for TMD installation and TMD specification were decided by parametric study. Also, the effect of vibration control about various wind velocity was studied by the TMD which has optimum specification and location.

  • Vibration responses of a centrifugal pump required dynamic analysis for seismic qualification, were calculated by using spectrum analysis, which is known to be very simple compared with time domain analysis. Modal analysis was performed and the results were utilized in the spectrum analysis. The vibration responses calculated from the spectrum analysis were more conservative than those from the time domain analysis, that is, the former can be used as safer in design process. The pump was qualified for the specified seismic service conditions as specified in IEEE 344-1987. The maximum stresses were less than allowable stress limits. Based on the analysis results, it is concluded that the pump meets all the dynamic requirements of the applicable codes, standards, and technical specification.

  • Inverse Chebyshev function can realize the same order of Chebyshev function nuder the same specification. In general, inverse Chebyshev function has the preferable characteristics in terms of the delay characteristics and the time-domain performances compare with Chebyshev function. However, for the even order n, inverse Chebyshev function does not realize in the doubly-terminated ladder network which has preferable sensitivity characteristics because of the finite value at ${\omega}={\infty}$. In this paper, the modified inverse Chebyshev function with $\mid$H($j^{\infty}$$\mid$=0 s proposed to realize the passive doubly-terminated ladder network for the n even or odd. The modified inverse Chebyshev function characteristics ars studied in the frequency and time domain, and then, realize the passive doubly-terminated ladder network.

  • Hierarchical Task Network(HTN) planning, a typical planning method for effectively taking advantage of domain-specific control knowledge, has been widely used in complex real applications for a long time. However, it still lacks theoretical formalization and standardization, and so there are some differences among existing HTN planners in terms of principle and performance. In this paper, we present an effective way to translate a HTN planning domain specification into the corresponding standard PDDL specification. Its main advantage is to allow even many domain-independent classical planners to utilize domain-specific control knowledge contained in the HTN specifications. In this paper, we try our translation-based approach to three different domains such as Blocks World, Office Delivery, Hanoi Tower, and then conduct some experiments with a forward-chaining heuristic state-space planner, FF, to analyze the efficiency of our approach.

  • In this paper, a new testing technique for core components of wireless transceiver was proposed. That was, band fault models (including the information of specifications in the analogue and RF IC) and methods which can test specifications in the time domain easily by observing a variation of band fault models in the circuit output were proposed and developed. This technique had an advantage over testing technique in frequency domain because it didn't need expensive test equipments and could reduce the time required. Test technique proposed in this paper was adapted to the test of 5.25 GHz low noise amplifier and proved that this testing technique was efficient in RF IC including low noise amplifier.
