다중 페널의 차음성능에 대한 실험적 연구 (Empirical Research for the Sound Insertion Loss of Panels)

  • This paper discusses an experimental method for measuring the insertion loss (IL) performance of a double panel that are used in vehicles. Instead of two adjacent reverberation chambers which are generally used to measure the transmission loss (TL) of the large sound isolation materials, air-borne sound insulation tester was utilized to determine the IL and articulation index (AI) of standardized deadening materials. In comparison to reverberation chamber method, air-borne sound insulation tester method is more space-saving, more time-saving and more simple to the automotive acoustics. From the empirical results, it is verified that the performance of deadening materials is closely connected with thickness of panels, type of filling material that is filled into a double panel, and area ratio of double panel.

Mitigation of gap formation resulting from saw blade in single-cut osteotomy

  • Bone loss from the kerf of the sawblade may influence the final outcomes when employing three-dimensional-printed surgical guides. However, no studies have systematically addressed saw blade-induced bone loss. This study aims to quantify bone loss and propose a reduction guide to minimize the fracture gap. The postoperative gap tended to decrease as the amount of gap compensation increased. Osteotomy gaps can be attributed to the thickness of the saw blade, and the proposed methodology addresses this surgical error. Surgeons can proactively plan and design reduction guides with applied compensation using the method described in this study.

Simulated Study on the Effects of Substrate Thickness and Minority-Carrier Lifetime in Back Contact and Back Junction Si Solar Cells

  • The BCBJ (Back Contact and Back Junction) or back-lit solar cell design eliminates shading loss by placing the pn junction and metal electrode contacts all on one side that faces away from the sun. However, as the electron-hole generation sites now are located very far from the pn junction, loss by minority-carrier recombination can be a significant issue. Utilizing Medici, a 2-dimensional semiconductor device simulation tool, the interdependency between the substrate thickness and the minority-carrier recombination lifetime was studied in terms of how these factors affect the solar cell power output. Qualitatively speaking, the results indicate that a very high quality substrate with a long recombination lifetime is needed to maintain the maximum power generation. The quantitative value of the recombination lifetime of minority-carriers, i.e., electrons in p-type substrates, required in the BCBJ cell is about one order of magnitude longer than that in the front-lit cell, i.e., $5{\times}10^{-4}sec$ vs. $5{\times}10^{-5}sec$. Regardless of substrate thickness up to $150{\mu}m$, the power output in the BCBJ cell stays at nearly the maximum value of about $1.8{\times}10^{-2}W{\cdot}cm^{-2}$, or $18mW{\cdot}cm^{-2}$, as long as the recombination lifetime is $5{\times}10^{-4}s$ or longer. The output power, however, declines steeply to as low as $10mW{\cdot}cm^{-2}$ when the recombination lifetime becomes significantly shorter than $5{\times}10^{-4}sec$. Substrate thinning is found to be not as effective as in the front-lit case in stemming the decline in the output power. In view of these results, for BCBJ applications, the substrate needs to be only mono-crystalline Si of very high quality. This bars the use of poly-crystalline Si, which is gaining wider acceptance in standard front-lit solar cells.

  • 개구면 결합 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나(aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna; ACMPA)의 급전 기판의 유전상수와 두께가 안테나 대역폭과 방사특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 급전 기판의 두께가 같은 여러 가지 유전상수의 급전기판을 가지는 ACMPA의 최적화된 반사손실 대역폭은 방사특성의 저하 없이 급전기판의 유전상수가 감소할수록 대역폭이 증가한다. MMIC(monolithic microwave integrated circuit)와 집적화가 가능한 높은 유전상수(${\epsilon}_r=10$)를 가지는 급전 기판을 사용한 ACMPA의 최적화된 반사손실 대역폭은 방사특성의 저하 없이 급전 기판의 두께가 감소할수록 대역폭이 증가한다. 따라서 ACMPA는 MMIC와 집적화하기에 좋은 구조를 가진 패치 안테나이다.

수질부 축소술과 전층 피부이식술을 이용한 교차수지 피판술 (Cross Finger Flap with Reduction Pulp Plasty and Full Thickness Skin Graft)

  • Purpose: Typical cross finger flap is still a good method for reconstruction of fingertip injuries. However, it is necessarily followed by great loss and aesthetically unpreferable result of donor finger. Hereby, we introduce a modification of cross finger flap with reduction pulp plasty and full thickness skin graft, with which we could reduce the defect size of injured fingertip and donor site morbidity at the same time, without any need for harvesting additional skin from other part of hand. Method: This method was performed in the patients with fingertip injuries of complete amputation or in case of loss of fingertip due to necrosis after replantation. Firstly, reduction pulp plasty was performed on the injured finger to reduce the size of defect of fingertip. Additional skin flap was obtained from the pulp plasty. Secondly, cross finger flap was elevated from the adjacent finger to cover the defect on the injured finger. At the same time, defect on the donor finger produced by the flap elevation was covered by full thickness skin graft with the skin obtained from the pulp plasty of injured finger. Results: Flap and graft survived without any necrosis after surgical delay and flap detachment. All of them were healed well and did not present any severe adversary symptoms. Conclusion: Cross finger flap with reduction pulp plasty and full thickness skin graft is an effective method that we can easily apply in reconstruction of fingertip injury. We think that it is more helpful than the usual manner, especially in cases of children with less soft tissue on their fingers for preservation and reduction of the morbidity of donor finger.

판폭두께비가 큰 휨부재의 부식발생에 따른 구조성능평가에 관한 연구 (Evaluation of Load-Carrying Capacity Loss due to Corrosion in Thin-Walled Section Steel Members)

  • 저층 장스팬 철골프레임에는 강재절감을 위해 휨모멘트 저항에 극대화한 판폭 두께비가 큰 단면 부재를 사용하고 있다. 한편, 외부환경에 노출된 강부재는 수년간을 걸쳐 부식이 진행된다. 부식에 의한 단면결손에 따른 내력감소는 판폭두께비가 큰 부재의 경우가 판폭두께비가 작은 부재에 비하여 상대적으로 크다. 또한, 부식에 의한 압축측 플랜지 및 웨브 판두께의 감소(판폭두께비 증가)에 의한 한계상태 영역이 변경될 여지도 있다. 본 논문에서, 국내 장스팬 철골프레임을 대상으로 판폭두께비가 큰 단면에 대해서 부식진행정도에 따른 모멘트-회전각관계, 초기강성, 최대내력, 최대내력이후 강성 및 에너지흡수능력에 대해서 평가를 행하였다.

Measurement of atherosclerosis markers in individuals with periodontitis

  • Purpose: The inflammatory response due to inflammatory cytokines, bacterial pathogens, and the altered lipoprotein metabolism in patients with periodontitis indicates that infection with periodontal anaerobic bacteria may influence atherogenesis in vitro and in vivo. We aimed to explore the effect of periodontitis concerning clinical and ultrasound markers of early atherosclerosis. Methods: In this case-control study, a total of 30 systemically healthy adults (15 with periodontitis and 15 without periodontitis) over 40 years of age were studied. Periodontitis was determined by measuring the clinical attachment level (CAL) and radiographic bone loss (RBL). Conventional cardiovascular risk factors, including body mass index, serum levels of total cholesterol (TCH), triglycerides (TG), and high-density and low-density lipoprotein (HDL and LDL, respectively) cholesterol were evaluated. Carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT) was measured using ultrasonography. Results: The mean values of the CAL and carotid IMT were 5.02±0.9 mm and 0.084±0.01 cm vs. 1.6±0.61 mm and 0.072±0.02 cm in the periodontitis and healthy groups, respectively, reflecting statistically significant differences (P=0.001 and P=0.037, respectively). There were statistically significant differences in the serum levels of TCH, TG, and LDL between the 2 groups (P=0.017). The CAL and RBL were positively associated with carotid IMT and serum cholesterol levels, except for HDL, whereas tooth loss was not associated with any markers (P<0.05). Compared to the healthy group, participants with periodontitis exhibited 2.09 times higher odds (95% confidence interval, 1.22-3.59) of having subclinical atherosclerosis. Conclusions: The presence of periodontitis increased the risk of atherosclerosis.

DAB 컨버터용 전력 변압기의 누설 인덕턴스를 포함한 내부 전력 손실 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Internal Power Loss Including Leakage Inductance of Power Transformer for DAB Converter)

  • In this paper, a power loss analysis technique of a high-frequency transformer of a bidirectional DAB (Dual Active Bridge) converter is reported. To miniaturize the transformer of the dual active bridge converter, a resonant inductor was designed with an air gap included low-coupled rate state core to combine leakage inductor with the resonant inductor which is required for soft-switching. In this paper, leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance, core material, type of winding and winding method are included in the dual active bridge transformer loss analysis process to enable optimal design at the initial design stage. Transformer loss analysis for dual active bridge with a switching frequency of 200 kHz and maximum output of 5 kW was executed, and elements necessary for design based on the number of turns on the primary side were graphed while maintaining the transformer turns ratio and window area. In particular, it was possible to determine the optimal number of turns and thickness of the transformer, and ultimately, the total loss of the transformer could be estimated.

Impedance investigation of the surface film formed on aluminum alloy exposed to nuclear reactor emergency core coolant

  • A method was proposed for in-situ evaluating the thickness and resistivity of the oxide/hydroxide film formed on the surface of aluminum alloy exposed to sump water formed in the containment after a loss-of-coolant accident. The evaluation entailed fitting a model for the film impedance, which has film thickness and other variables describing the resistivity profile of the film along its thickness direction as fitting parameters, to the practically measured electrochemical impedance data. The obtained resistivity profiles implied that the films formed at pHs25℃ 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 all had a duplex structure; compared to the outer layer in contact with the solution, the inner layer of the film had a much higher resistivity and was inferred to be denser and provide most of the protectiveness of the film. Both the thickness and the total resistance of the film decreased with the increasing solution pH25℃, suggesting that the films formed in more alkaline solutions had less protectiveness against corrosion, consistent with the increasing aluminum alloy corrosion rates previously identified.

암반공동 열에너지저장과 지상식 열에너지저장의 열손실 비교 분석 (A Comparative Study on Heat Loss in Rock Cavern Type and Above-Ground Type Thermal Energy Storages)

  • 본 연구에서는 FLAC3D를 이용해 대용량 고온 열에너지저장소가 암반공동과 지상에 위치하는 경우를 각각 모델링하고 운영기간 5년 동안의 비정상상태해석을 수행하여 저장소 외벽을 통한 열손실을 비교 분석하였다. 두 저장모델의 운영 조건 및 입력물성은 모두 동일하나, 암반공동 열에너지저장소는 주변 암반의 전도 열전달에 의해서만 열손실이 발생하고, 지상 저장소는 대기의 대류 열전달에 의해서 열손실이 발생하는 것으로 가정하였다. 열에너지의 반복적인 주입과 토출에 따른 저장온도의 변화를 고려하여 수치해석모델을 작성하였으며, 단열재 두께에 따른 열손실 특성을 함께 검토하였다. 해석 결과, 지상식 저장시설은 운영 기간이 경과하더라도 일정한 열손실률을 보이는 반면 암반공동 저장시설의 열손실률은 운영 초기 단계에서 급격히 감소하여 일정한 값으로 수렴하는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 열손실의 감소는 시간 경과에 따라 주변 암반의 온도가 상승함으로써 저장소외벽에서의 열유속이 감소하기 때문으로 판단할 수 있다. 운영 후 5년 경과 시 암반공동 열에너지저장소의 누적열손실량은 지상저장소에 비해 약 72.7%로 나타났으며, 암반공동 저장시설의 열손실 특성은 주변 암반의 히팅 효과로 인해 지상식 저장시설에 비해 단열재 두께에 대한 민감도 및 의존도가 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 분석되었다.
