In order to find an effect of structural changes due to variation of addition ratio of anhydride hardener and postcuring herat-treatments upon electrical properties of epoxy composites, the dielectric properties over a frequency range from 30[Hz] to l[MHz] were investigated in the temperature range of 20-180[.deg. C]. From the dielectric properties, the a peaks related with glass-transition phenomena of epoxy network appeared near 130[.deg. C], the conduction loss in high temperature region above 150[.deg. C] due to thermal dissociation of hardener started off with the low frequency side and the .betha. peak concerned with contribution of movable unreacted terminal epoxy groups and curing agents in the glass states concurred with the high-frequency side below 20[.deg. C]. And an effect of an hydride hardener upon structural changes and of postcuring heat treatments upon structural stability in epoxy composites would be explained through the estimation of the distribution of relaxation times and the activation energy for a .alpha. peak according to the WLF equations.

The nano-technology becomes a key technology in every field and it wasn't specialized any more. But nano-technology didn't applied every fields actively. Because It is difficult to fabricate the nanocomposites using nano-partie without aggregation of nano-size particles. So many researcher used organic solvent for dispersion in polymer nanocomposites. But organic solvent affected the electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties in the sample. We aimed this point that investigated the effect of organic solvent in the sample by evaporated temperature(60, 80, $100^{\circ}C$). In results, nano-particles affected to electrical properties of the sample due to decrease the energy gap. And at 120 Hz, impedance value of samples by varied evaporated temperature was decreased only at $60^{\circ}C$ dramatically. It's means that organic solvent role to impurities and decreased the activation energy. And these impurities contributed to the conductivity in the sample.

The properties of phosphorus doped ZnO multilayer thin films deposited on (001) sapphire substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) were investigated by using annealing treatment at various annealing temperature after deposition. The phosphorus doped ZnO multilayer was composed of phosphorus doped ZnO layer and two pure ZnO layers on sapphire substrate. The structural. electrical and optical properties of the ZnOthin films were measured by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Hall measurements and photoluminescence (PL). As the annealing temperature optimized. the electrical properties of the ZnO multilayer showed a electron concentration of $1.56{\times}10^{16}/cm^3$, a resistivity of 17.97 ${\Omega}cm$. It was observed the electrical property of the film was changed by dopant activation effect as thermal annealing process

As the demand of internet networks using backbone communication systems recently increased, the researches on the high-speed wideband optical communication systems are required. For high-speed optical communication systems, asymmetric sampled grating distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB-LDs) are developed and the reliability of DFB-LDs is examined. The reliability of DFB-LDs is performed by monitoring I-V and L-I characteristics and two degradation phenomena related to the electrical characteristics of LDs are observed during the life tests. The first degradation phenomenon by increasing the reverse current is considered as a formation of leakage current path enough to prevent lasing operation in lateral blocking layer near active region of lasers. The second degradation phenomenon by decreasing the forward current is considered as activation of non-radiative Auger recombination process by thermal energy and the second degradation phenomenon is recovered after the off-test period at room temperature Eventually, evaluating the reliability of DFB LDs can allow us to improved the manufacturability in high-volume manufacturing.

A simple strategy was developed based on polyelectrolyte/silver nanocomposite to obtain humidity-sensitive membranes. The major component of a humid membrane is the polyTEAMPS/silver nanocomposite obtained by thermal heating the mixture of a polyelectrolyte and silver isopropylcarbamate complex. Humidity sensors prepared from polyTEAMPS/silver (w/w=100/0 and 100/6) nanocomposites had an average impedance of 292, 8.83 and $0.86\;k{\Omega}$, and 5,327, 140 and $0.93\;k{\Omega}$ at 30,60 and 95% relative humidity (RH), respectively. Hysteresis, temperature dependence and response time were also measured. Activation energies and complex impedance spectroscopy of the various components of the polyelectrolyte/silver nanocomposite films were examined for the humidity-sensing membrane.

Carbon-fluorine (C-F) bonds have been found ubiquitously in pharmaceuticals, radiopharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and material science due to their unique properties such as thermal and oxidative stability and lipophilicity to improve bioavailability. For the past five years, there have been significant advances in F-18 fluorination of aromatic complex molecules combined with the development of late-stage fluorination reactions. More recently, direct incorporation of F-18 to fluorinated aromatic molecules via borylation of C-F bonds has been developed by Niwa and Hosoya. In this minireview, we will discuss the progress of C-F bondborylation of fluorinated arenes utilizing transition metal catalysts and the impact on the development of F-18 radiotracers for positron emission tomography (PET).

ZnO is a widely investigated material for the blue and ultraviolet solid-state emitters and detectors. It has been promoted due to a wide-band gap semiconductor which has large exciton binding energy of 60 meV, chemical stability and low radiation damage. However, there are many problems to be solved for the growth of p-type ZnO for practical device applications. Many researchers have made an efforts to achieve p-type conductivity using group-V element of N, P, As, and Sb. In this letter, we have studied the optical characteristics of the antimony-doped ZnO (ZnO:Sb) thin films by means of photoluminescence (PL), PL excitation, temperature-dependent PL, and time-resolved PL techniques. We observed donor-to-acceptor-pair transition at about 3.24 eV with its phonon replicas with a periodic spacing of about 72 meV in the PL spectra of antimony-doped ZnO (ZnO:Sb) thin films at 12 K. We also investigate thermal activation energy and carrier recombination lifetime for the samples. Our result reflects that the antimony doping can generate shallow acceptor states, leading to a good p-type conductivity in ZnO.
TlCl2(TCNQ)2.5 and Tl(TCNQ)3 were obtained from the reaction of LiTCNQ (TCNQ=tetracyanoquinodimethane) and TlX3 (X=Cl and NO3). These compounds were characterized by spectroscopic(IR, UV, EPR), electrochemical methods, and electrical conductivity measurements. Thermal analysis (TG, DSC) was also conducted. The room temperature electrical conductivities of these compounds are in the range of semiconductors. Spectroscopic studies indicate that Tl(TCNQ)3 has fully ionized TCNQ- ions in a form of simple salt, whereas TlCl2(TCNQ)2.5 is consisted of TCNQ- and TCNQ0 as a complex salt. EPR values of TCNQ- radical anion are 1.999 in both compounds and the signal attributable to metal ion is not observed, suggesting that any unpaired electrons are localized on TCNQ radicals, and metal atoms have diamagnetic state. Ligand decomposition and reduction process are simultaneously progressed in both compounds above at 200 ℃. The endothermic activation energy of TlCl2(TCNQ)2.5 is shown somewhat larger than that of Tl(TCNQ)3, it may be due to Tl-Cl bond strength. The mid-peak potentials of these compounds are very similar to those of TCNQ and the values of Epa and Epc are almost equal to 1. The wave of thallium ion is not detected in cyclic voltammogram, hence the redox processes of the complexes might be mainly localized to the TCNQ ligand rather than thallium ion.
The water-cooled WCLL blanket is one of the possible candidates for the blanket of the fusion power reactors. The plasma-facing first wall manufactured from the reduced-activation ferritic-martensitic steel Eurofer97 will be cooled with water at a typical pressurized water reactor (PWR) conditions. According to new estimates, the first wall will be exposed to peak heat fluxes up to $7MW/m^2$ while the maximum operated temperature of Eurofer97 is set to $550^{\circ}C$. The performed analysis shows the capability of the designed flat first wall concept to remove heat flux without exceeding the maximum Eurofer97 operating temperature only up to $0.75MW/m^2$. Several heat transfer enhancement methods (turbulator promoters), structural modifications, and variations of parameters were analysed. The effects of particular modifications on the wall temperature were evaluated using thermo-hydraulic three-dimensional numerical simulation. The analysis shows the negligible effect of the turbulators. By the combination of the proposed modifications, the permitted heat flux was increased up to $1.69MW/m^2$ only. The results indicate the necessity of the re-evaluation of the existing first wall concepts.
The stiffness of shape memory alloy (SMA) spring while in actuation is represented by an empirical model that is derived from the logistic differential equation. This model correlates the stiffness to the alloy temperature and the functionality of SMA spring as active variable stiffness actuator (VSA) is analyzed based on factors that are the input conditions (activation current, duty cycle and excitation frequency) and operating conditions (pre-stress and mechanical connection). The model parameters are estimated by adopting the nonlinear least square method, henceforth, the model is validated experimentally. The average correlation factor of 0.95 between the model response and experimental results validates the proposed model. In furtherance, the justification is augmented from the comparison with existing stiffness models (logistic curve model and polynomial model). The important distinction from several observations regarding the comparison of the model prediction with the experimental states that it is more superior, flexible and adaptable than the existing. The nature of stiffness variation in the SMA spring is assessed also from the Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA), which as well proves the proposal. This model advances the ability to use SMA integrated mechanism for enhanced variable stiffness actuation. The investigation proves that the stiffness of SMA spring may be altered under controlled conditions.
