This study investigated the international transfer of retail know-how via the prism of Learning Organizational Theory. As a case, 7-Eleven, a worldwide chain of convenience stores was examined. Its international transfer of retail know-how occurred when 7-Eleven, originally founded by Southland Corporation in Dallas, Texas, was introduced in Japan in 1973 in the form of 7-Eleven Japan. Our analysis shows that both strategic core learning and adaptive learning played a significant role during the international transfer of retail know-how. Our findings reveal the evidence of the following elements of strategic core learning such as the convenience store concept, the three principles of store management, the minimum profit guarantee system, and the margin-based royalty system. On the other hand, the retailing mix such as store type, store location, store size, and merchandising acted as the acting agents of adaptive learning. The hypothesis verification methods acted as the main methods for adaptive learning. Through the persistent adaptive learning, inimitable innovations could be brought forth. However, the elements of strategic core learning should provide the direction for the adaptive learning.

The discovery of biomarkers related to pattern identification (PI), the core diagnostic theory of Korean medicine (KM), is one of the methods that can provide objective and reliable evidence by applying PI to clinical practice. In this study, 40 diabetic patients and 41 healthy control subjects recruited from the Korean medicine clinic were examined to determine the human electrical response related to the deficiency pattern, a representative pattern of diabetes. Qi-Blood-Yin-Yang deficiency pattern scores, which are representative deficiency patterns for diabetes mellitus, were obtained through a questionnaire with verified reliability and validity, and the human electrical response was measured non-invasively using a bioimpedance meter. In ANCOVA analysis using gender as a covariate, the 5 kHz frequency resistance and 5-250 kHz frequency reactance were significantly lower in the diabetic group than in non-diabetic control group. In addition, the multiple regression analysis showed a positive correlation (R2=0.11~0.19) between the Yang deficiency pattern score and resistance value for the diabetic group; the correlation was higher at higher frequencies of 50kHz (R2=0.18) and 250kHz (R2=0.19) compared to 5kHz(R2=0.11). In contrast, there was no such significant association in the control group. It implies that bioimpedance resistance measured at finite frequencies may be useful in predicting Yang deficiency, which is closely related to diabetic complications by reflecting the decrease in body water content and metabolism. In the future, large-scale planned clinical studies will be needed to identify biomarkers associated with different types of PI in diabetes.
In this study, the selection attributes of contemporary dance audience were constructed based on prior study and the selection attributes of contemporary dance performance were identified through EFA(Exploratory Factor Analysis). Therefore, Six attributes were derived: physical evidence, tickets, people, information, product, and reputation. Based on these attributes, the selected attributes were identified through 'ETPB(Extended Theory of Planned Behavior)' to see if they affect ticket purchase behavior. In result, Among the selection attributes of contemporary dance performances, three attributes of reputation, people and product influenced the audience's attitude, while only product and human attributes influenced the purchase intention of tickets. Among the variables of ETPB to enhance the ability to purchase intention of tickets, audience attitude, perceive behavior control, and prior knowledge have had a positive effect on purchase intention of tickets, except for subjective norm. Therefore, it is meaningful that this study presented and verified empirically the attributes of select centered on visitors, which can improve the intention of purchasing tickets for contemporary dance performances.

Objectives: This study attempted to apply the Intervention mapping and Transtheoretical models to develop a program to promote moderate alcohol drinking in university students. Methods: Surveyed data from 1,137 university students were analyzed to identify personal and environmental determinants for alcohol drinking. Based on these determinants, program objectives were established. Crossing the objectives with related important determinants resulted in matrices of learning objectives for which educational strategies were developed. Subsequently, an intervention program were designed to achieve those objectives. Results: Identified personal determinants included awareness, attitudes, self-efficacy and behavioral skills. Environmental determinants were binge drinking behaviors of family members and peers, and social pressure for drinking. Program, impact and learning objectives were developed to change the identified determinants. Program activities included provision of information on positive and negative consequences of binge drinking, opportunities for assessing one's drinking pattern, increasing outcome expectancies of and skill building for monitoring drinking, resisting peer pressure and managing stress. To facilitate adoption and maintenance of the program, an intervention diffusion plan was suggested. An evaluation plan was developed by utilizing RE-AIM framework. Conclusions: In order to expand evidence bases for effective theory-based programs, the developed program should be tested in diverse university settings.

An online experiment was conducted to test the subject-knowledge view of relevance theory in order to find evidence of a conceptual basis for relevance. Six experts in Library and Information Science (LIS), nine Master's students of LIS, and twelve non-experts judged the relevance of 14 abstracts within and outside of the LIS domain. Consistency among the judges was calculated by joint-probability agreement (PA) and interclass correlation coefficients (ICC). When using PA to analyze the judgements, non-experts had a higher consensus regardless of the task or division of groups. However, ICC calculations found Master's candidates had a higher level of consensus than non-experts within LIS, although the experts did not; and the agreement rates on the non-LIS task for all groups were only poor to moderate. It was only when the groups were analyzed as two groups (experts including Master's candidates and non-experts) that the expected trend of higher consistency among experts in the LIS task was seen.
Purpose - This paper attempted to verify the process by which a multinational corporation (MNC)'s subsidiary practices entrepreneurship to create effective knowledge (KC) in the local market. We have looked at whether subsidiary entrepreneurship (SENT) has a moderation effect in creating knowledge for the local market when a subsidiary has been given autonomy (AUT) from the headquarters (HQ). We also argue that when a subsidiary creates meaningful knowledge, the effect of the increased status by the HQ within the MNC network position (NP) has an indirect effect on whether knowledge is transferred to other overseas subsidiaries (KTO). Design/methodology - This paper used a structural equation model (SEM) of 282 effective foreign companies invested in Korea. To test the hypothesis about the process of SENT on KTO, descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability, convergent and discriminant validities, and common method bias were analyzed using STATA. In addition, the moderation effect was verified along with SEM. The moderation effect of AUT on SENT and KC was presented graphically by confirming \mathrm{\pm1} standard deviation of AUT for the main effect. Findings - Our findings are as follows. First, while the hypothesis about the direct effect of SENT and KC on KTO was not supported, all other hypotheses were supported. Second, both the AUT and moderating effect and the indirect effect of NP were significant. In the conclusion, these findings are discussed in relation to its various theoretical and practical implications. Originality/value - This study attempted to contribute to the knowledge creation theory of MNC by contemplating how subsidiaries can move away from HQ and grow in the local market. Although there is still a shortage of foreign investment in the Korean market, our practical implications offer guidance for how current subsidiaries can develop more than other overseas subsidiaries.

Purpose: This study used a descriptive investigative design to compare the educational needs and priorities of education-dedicated nurses and preceptors regarding clinical nurse educator competency. Methods: A survey was conducted from March to April 2023 with 308 participants, including 140 education-dedicated nurses and 168 preceptors. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired t-test with the IBM SPSS 26.0 program. For the purpose of analyzing educational needs, we further analyzed data through the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model. Results: Among the clinical nurse educator competency, both education-dedicated nurses and preceptors identified "new theory and practice" as the highest priority educational need. Additionally, education-dedicated nurses prioritized "teaching design ability," "teaching evaluation ability," and "evidence-based nursing/practice and research," while preceptors prioritized "clinical nursing knowledge" and "professional development ability" as their educational needs. Conclusion: While both education-dedicated nurses and preceptors responded that education is necessary for all the competency areas required of clinical nurse educators, variations were observed in their reported educational needs and priorities. Thus, it is imperative to develop and implement a differentiated education program for enhancing the competency of clinical nurse educators that considers the distinct requirements of education-dedicated nurses and preceptors.
The primary goal of our study was to investigate the vast transformations of the healthcare sector in Korea during the past half century. Official data reported in the Korean statistical yearbooks and secondary data suggested by previous studies were used for institutional analysis of healthcare environment. Information on hospital released by the Korean Hospital Association was also used for ecological analysis. Institutional analysis: We identified three distinctive eras based primarily on changes in institutional logics, institutional actors, and governance structures : 'professional dominance (1952-1976)', 'government involvement (1977-1999)', and 'coexistence of competing institutional logics (2000-present)'. During the first era, physician association supported by Korean government comprised the primary governance regime. During the second era, the government became a major actor as a regulator and purchaser in health care sector, introducing of the 'mandatory national health insurance'. During the third era, making healthcare system sustainable and providing health care efficiently was overarching goals although it was hard to find a single central logic dominating this period. Ecological analysis: Evidence from the analysis of hospital population suggested that the expansion of the bed capacity was made from different processes, shifting from the ecological process in 1980s to the adaptive process in 1990s. And Korean hospitals had changed following both 'directional process' and 'stabilizing process' over time. Based on our results, we concluded that more studies to compare more organizational populations other than hospitals and to empirically test the effects of institutional changes on organizational changes and vice-versa, need to be conducted.
The presence of blue stragglers pose challenges to standard stellar evolution theory, in the sense that explaining their presence demands a complex interplay between stellar evolution and cluster dynamics. In the meantime, mass transfer in binary systems and stellar collisions are widely studied as a blue straggler formation channel. We explore properties of the Galactic open clusters where blue stragglers are found, in attempting to estimate the relative importance of these two favored processes, by comparing them with those resulting from open clusters in which blue stragglers are absent as of now. Unlike previous studies which require a sophisticated process in understanding the implication of the results, this approach is straightforward and has resulted in a supplementary supporting evidence for the current view on the blue straggler formation mechanism. Our main findings are as follows: (1) Open clusters in which blue stragglers are present have a broader distribution with respect to the Z-axis pointing towards the North Galactic Pole than those in which blue stragglers are absent. The probability that two distributions with respect to the Z-axis are drawn from the same distribution is 0.2%. (2) Average values of $log_10(t)$ of the clusters with blue stragglers and those without blue stragglers are $8.58{\pm}0.232$ and $7.52{\pm}0.285$, respectively. (3) The clusters with blue stragglers tend to be relatively redder than the others, and are distributed broader in colors. (4) The clusters with blue stragglers are likely brighter than those without blue stragglers. (5) Finally, blue stragglers seem to form in condensed clusters rather than simply dense clusters. Hence, we conclude that mass transfer in binaries seems to be a relatively important physical mechanism of the generation of blue stragglers in open clusters, provided they are sufficiently old.
The objective of this research is investigating the mediating effect of job engagement on the relationship between job autonomy and innovative behavior in public organizations. Major findings from Structural Equation Model analysis demonstrates that the variable 'job engagement' took a positive role between job autonomy and innovative behavior. From theoretical point, this result provides the empirical evidence of causal relationship in the three components of attitude-cognition, emotion, and action, which contributes to the advancement of action theory. Some policy implications can be drawn from the empirical findings. Firstly, job autonomy need to be seriously considered as a strategic instrument for the encouragement of innovative behavior. Secondly, job engagement of employees need to be more carefully monitored to stimulate the innovative behavior in the public organizations. In public organizations, enhancement of innovative behavior can not be achieved from institutional arrangements. Provision of job autonomy is more effective method of behavior change than performance management approach.
