교통약자를 고려한 보행 신호시간 산정모형 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Pedestrian Signal Timing Models Considering the Characteristics of Weak Pedestrians)

  • 본 연구는 교통약자(어린이와 고령자)에 대한 보행속도 및 인지-반응을 포함한 보행특성에 관한 기초자료를 제공하고, 이와 같은 교통약자의 보행 특성을 반영한 보행 신호시간 모형을 개발하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 본 연구를 위하여 가상횡단보도를 이용한 현장조사를 실시하여 어린이 및 고령자의 보행특성에 관한 자료를 수집하였다. 자료를 분석한 결과 어린이가 고령자에 비해 보행속도가 높게 나타났고, 약 0.63 m/s, 0.57 m/s의 평균속도를 나타내었다. 그러나 인지-반응시간과 여유시간은 고령자가 어린이에 비하여 높게 조사되었다. 이와 같은 특성을 반영한 보행신호시간 산정모형을 개발하여 제시하였다. 개발된 모형에 대한 민감도 분석 결과 실제 보행행태에 적합한 결과를 얻었고, 이를 현재 사용되고 있는 경찰청 모형과 비교한 결과 대부분의 상황에서 현재의 모형보다 증가된 보행 신호시간을 제공하는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구결과는 향후 교통약자의 보행환경을 개선하는데 적용할 수 있고, 장기적으로는 교통약자의 이동성 증진에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

실차평가시험을 기반으로 한 액티브 후드 및 보행자 보호 에어백 효과 (Effectiveness of Active Hood and Pedestrian Protection Airbag Based on Real Vehicle Impact Test)

  • Pedestrian to vehicle traffic accidents show a very high mortality rate compared to the frequency of occurrence. In order to improve the pedestrian protection performance of the vehicle, the korean government added a "pedestrian safety" entry from the year 2007. The performance for pedestrian protection of current vehicles gradually improved compared to the past, but it is still insufficient. It was found that the pedestrian protection performance was very weak, such as the top of the bonnet, the A-pillar and under the front windshield. A application of an active hood and pedestrian protection airbags can be countermeasures for these weak points of pedestrian safety. The active hood and pedestrian protection airbags are designed and manufactured to apply to the top of the hood and to the bottom of the windshield. The manufactured system is equipped in a test vehicle and evaluated based on the Korea New Car Assessment Program(KNCAP) test procedures for the performance of pedestrian safety. As a result, the outstanding effect of pedestrian protection has been achieved by the active hood and the pedestrian protection airbag. The rates of pedestrian injury are reduced by 82.2% and 95.4%, respectively.

지능형 휠체어 적용을 위해 Haar-like의 기울기 특징을 이용한 아다부스트 알고리즘 기반의 보행자 인식 (Pedestrian recognition using differential Haar-like feature based on Adaboost algorithm to apply intelligence wheelchair)

  • In this paper, we suggest an advanced algorithm, to recognize pedestrian/non-pedestrian using differential haar-like feature, which applies Adaboost algorithm to make a strong classification from weak classifications. First, we extract two feature vectors: horizontal haar-like feature and vertical haar-like feature. For the next, we calculate the proposed feature vector using differential haar-like method. And then, a strong classification needs to be obtained from weak classifications for composite recognition method using the differential area of horizontal and vertical haar-like. In the proposed method, we use one feature vector and one strong classification for the first stage of recognition. Based on our experiment, the proposed algorithm shows higher recognition rate compared to the traditional method for the pedestrian and non-pedestrian.

범죄예방 환경설계 관점에서 공동주택 단지 내 공공보행통로의 개선방안 연구 (Improvements of the Public Pedestrian Passage in the Apartment Complex from Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Aspect)

  • A public pedestrian passage induces traffic into the apartment complex, and therefore, it requires the application of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design(CPTED). This paper aims to analyze the conditions and to suggest the improvements of public pedestrian passages in apartment complexes, applying a 3-D approach from CPTED aspect. The first aspect is "Designation": 1)The linkage between the public pedestrian passages is weak, and their designated purpose becomes unclear. 2)When the designated purpose is not considered for each complex, the closure rate is high. 3)The closure rate of the "Through type" is high. It suggests that the pedestrian network should be built and vitalized at the local urban level. The second aspect is "Definition." The public pedestrian passage lacks a social, cultural, and legal definition and only has a passive physical definition. It suggests that a legal definition and specialized guildline be prepared. The third aspect is "Design": 1)Insufficient territoriality exists between the public pedestrian passage and the inside of the complex. Territoriality should be reinforced between the public pedestrian passage and the rest of the internal territory. 2)The landscaping adjacent to the public pedestrian passage lacks deliberation. Since this is where safety and privacy collide, detailed design and maintenance of the landscaping is required. 3)It lacks systematical crime prevention facilities and should compensate accordingly.

A Study on the Perception of Personal Mobility Vehicle for the Improvement of Pedestrian Environment for the Disabled

  • Objective: In order to secure the right to walk for the weak, such as the disabled, this study aims to suggest ways to improve the pedestrian environment by identifying factors that cause obstacles to walking. Design: Data Analysis and Perception Survey. Methods: The questionnaire was conducted separately between users of personal mobility vehicle and non-users. A total of 207 effective questionnaires were collected, and the analysis analyzed the perception of personal mobility vehicle by conducting frequency analysis using SAS 9.4. The survey focused on basic information on respondents, walking conditions, understanding of personal mobility vehicle, awareness of pedestrian space passage and parking, and awareness of the possibility of securing pedestrian rights due to new regulations. Results: First, when moving a pedestrian path by personal mobility vehicle, it shall be limited to less than the walking speed of pedestrians. Second, the parking location of the personal mobility vehicle is located at the boundary of the pedestrian road and the lane. Third, pay a fair price to park in a pedestrian space. Conclusions: It is necessary to improve the system to strengthen the contents of education to take into account the safety of pedestrians in education on how to use personal mobility vehicle.

대학 캠퍼스 보행자 이동패턴과 보행네트워크간의 상호관련성 (The Relationship between the Pedestrian Movement Pattern and the Pedestrian Network at a University Campus)

  • Many Korean university campuses are located on hilly terrain where the hierarchy of the path system is unclear. Therefore, it is difficult to analyze the pedestrian network through space syntax, in which only horizontal direction changes are considered as depths of space. The purpose of this study is to compare pedestrian movement patterns and space syntax analysis in order to find their relevance to each other and the relationship between them. We conducted a survey regarding the most-visited buildings and pathways at S-University, which is located on a hilly area in Seoul. The survey results were compared with the Space Syntax integration map by regression analysis. For the segments where the relationship between pedestrian volume and integration was weak, field observations were conducted. As a result, topographical aspects, functional aspects, and location aspects were observed as the main influential factors. In addition, the research proposes that adding an extra axial line per vertical directional change can potentially compensate for the low relevance of stairs. This study suggests the possibility and the necessity of three-dimensional space syntax programs and emphasizes the importance of campus planning for the pedestrian environment.

곡률과 HOG에 의한 연속 방법에 기반한 아다부스트 알고리즘을 이용한 보행자 인식 (Pedestrian Recognition using Adaboost Algorithm based on Cascade Method by Curvature and HOG)

  • 본 논문은 2단계 연속(cascade) 방법을 이용한 향상된 보행자/비보행자 인식 알고리즘을 제안한다. 인식을 위한 분류기로는 약한 분류기를 강한 분류기로 만드는 아다부스트 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 먼저 두 가지 특징벡터를 추출 한다: (i) 기존의 기울기 히스토그램(HOG) 특성과 (ii) 한 점이 가지는 곡률특성 네 가지를 이용한 곡률-HOG를 제안하고 이용하였다. 그 다음 훈련 영상을 통하여 두 가지의 특징 벡터에 대해 약한 분류기로부터 강한 분류기를 얻었으며, 인식은 입력 영상으로부터 하나의 특징을 선택하여 이미 만들어진 강한 분류기를 통하여 1차적인 인식과 오인식을 실시하며, 오인식된 영상에 대해 2차적인 특징을 투입하여 이에 해당하는 강한 분류기를 통하여 2단계 아다부스트 알고리즘을 적용하여 최종적인 인식결과를 얻는다. 두 가지의 서로 다른 특성 벡터를 이용하여 연속 방법에 의한 2단계 아다부스트 알고리즘을 적용한 결과 기존의 실험 방법보다 더 정확한 인식 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

대구광역시 교통약자 보행자 교통사고 공간 군집 분석 (Spatial clustering of pedestrian traffic accidents in Daegu)

  • OECD 국가 중 보행자 사망 비율이 가장 높은 대한민국은 보행자 중심으로 법령이 제정하면서 안전한 보행환경 개선을 위해 노력하고 있다. 이 연구는 노인 인구와 학원이 밀도가 높은 대구광역시를 대상으로 보행자 교통사고 클러스터를 포아송분포를 이용한 스캔통계량으로 파악하고자 한다. 어린이와 노인에 관한 교통사고의 대중 인식을 수집하여 워드클라우드로 살펴본 결과 어린이는 정부와 기업인의 캠페인을 중심으로 노출되고 있고, 노인은 사고감소를 위한 정책연구를 중심으로 노출되고 있었다. 어린이 보행자 교통사고의 상대적 위험성은 공단이 많은 평리·내당·용산동에서 높았고, 학원 밀집도가 높은 만촌·봉무·범어동에서 낮았다. 노인 보행자 교통사고의 상대적 위험성은 도심에 가까운 용산·죽전·두류·내당동에서 높았고, 범어·삼덕·팔공·봉무동에서 낮았다. 대구광역시 내당동과 용산동은 어린이와 노인 보행사고 위험성이 높아 보행 안전 취약지역으로 파악되었다. 이는 스캔통계량이 교통사고 위험 지역 탐색에 효과적임을 의미한다.

주거지 보행환경과 유모차 동반 여성보행자의 외출특성 및 보행심리와의 관계 (A Study of the Characteristics and Psychology of Women with Strollers by a Pedestrian Environment in a Housing Area)

  • A pedestrian environment provides improved walking conditions and facilities for most pedestrians. However, the walking conditions for women with strollers are poor. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the walking environment planning for women with strollers in an urban housing area through analyse of walking characteristics, patterns of going out, and the psychology of them. This study surveyed 208 women who pushed a baby n a stroller in Gyeongsan. The analysis consisted of calculation of the frequencies, the mean, t-test, and ${\chi}^2$ test. The survey results revealed that, first, the women had their own favorite places in the housing area, and usually went out during the afternoon as various aims. When they went out, they felt stress both psychologically and physically, and they thought that they were weak at walking. Second, the safety and the convenience factors of walking environment were important conditions that make the women to go out often. Third, the environment that have not the accessibility, the amenity, and the diversity also restricted the women from going out with the stroller. As a result, they did mot use the stroller and tended to use their cars to go out. However, when the diversity of the environment is added to walking environment, women invreased their social interactions.

  • Crossing is the place which train, car and pedestrian adjoin, and the weak place. Also, crash accident between train and large size car is possible to be serious. So, various crossing obstacle detection device was developed, and it contribute to reduce the crossing accident.
