This was a descriptive survey to determine the intention of users to use smartphone healthcare applications (SHAs) and to clarify factors that may influence such intention. The data were collected during the month of April in 2015, using a structured self-report questionnaire that was distributed to 300 participants aged 20 to 70 years; 285 complete copies were used for the final analysis. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression. First, according to the results, the average intention to use SHAs was 3.28 out of 5, which varied according to age, final education, economy level, vacation, current disease, total period of smartphone use, and etc. Second, significant correlations were shown by exercise behavior, dietary management behavior, stress management, satisfaction with smartphone use, and satisfaction with using SHAs. Third, the explanatory power of the predictive model involving all general, health-related, smartphone use-related, and SHA use-related factors was 45.5%; and the economic level, interest, status, and awareness satisfaction of patients using SHA were identified to be the main influential factors. The results indicate that SHA developers need to put efforts into improving consumers' app recognition and to develop plans in provoking consumers' interests to increase the use of SHAs.

The landscape of the education market is changing. As part of efforts to deal with the decrease of a school-age population in Korea, Korean universities and colleges are endeavoring to attract foreign students. Chinese students, the largest share of foreign university students in Korea, are becoming an important element at Korean universities and colleges. Chinese students face various kinds of difficulties while trying to cope with new environments in the country. This study aims to analyze the impact of academic factors and psychological factors of Chinese students on the level of adaptation to university life and their satisfaction with it. Data on 128 Chinese students attending D University located in Busan were collected and a path analysis was conducted using partial least squares (PLS) regression. Research results are as follows. First, professors as an academic factor and the level of interest of university staff have significant impact on the level of adaptation to university life while Korean language proficiency does not have significant impact on the level of adaptation to university life. Second, homesickness as a psychological factor is correlated to the level of adaptation to university life with significance while acculturative stress is not correlated to it. Third, the level of adaptation to university life is correlated to the level of satisfaction with university life. Based on these findings, the significance, limitations and future directions of this study are discussed.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the double mediating effect of ego-resilience and impulsivity in the effects of smartphone addiction on depression among office workers. Research design, data and methodology : The subjects of this study were office workers working in four cities: Seoul, Daejeon, Chungnam, and Chungbuk Province, and the total number of respondents was 286. Descriptive statistics, difference test (t-test, ANOVA), correlation analysis, and double-mediated effect analysis were used for statistics. Results : The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of the difference analysis, there was no difference in depression according to the general characteristics of the subjects of this study, such as gender, age, marital status, and salary. Second, as a result of correlation analysis, smartphone addiction showed a negative correlation with ego-resilience, and a positive correlation with impulsivity and depression. Also, ego-resilience showed negative correlation with impulsivity and depression. Impulsivity showed a positive correlation with depression. Third, as a result of dual mediating effect analysis, it was found that ego-resilience and impulsivity played double-mediated role between smartphone addiction and depression. Conclusions : Based on the results of this study, theoretical measures centered on ego-resilience were discussed and presented in order to positively induce the decrease in impulsivity and depression due to smartphone addiction among office workers.
The purpose of this research is to investigate adult's perception of elderly parents care and differences of related variables between family structures. There were 1,258 participants(age 45; male=601, female=657; 1,111=nuclear, 147=extended). The measures yielded Cronbach α=.67~.95, inter-judger reliability= 95.1%, Kappa=.95. The results showed that, first, there were no significant differences between two family structures in terms of SES excepting academic career. Second, there were significant differences between two family structures in family relation, psychological characteristics. That is, adults in the extended family, versus those in the nuclear family, provide greater emotional support to children, sacrificed more towards children, and have greater expectations for children supporting them when they retire. Also, adults in the extended family displayed greater self-efficacy and happiness. Third, there were significant differences between two family structures in caring for elderly parents. Adults in the extended family apportioned a greater parent's allowance, and more number of meals with parents, and spent more time talking with parents, and displayed greater degree of filial piety and more caring behavior towards parents. Fourth, as for the perception of caring for elderly parents according to family structure, when adults were asked about "the best way to care for parents", the most frequent response was providing a peace-of-mind for parents. As for "the most difficult aspect of caring for parents", differences in opinions followed by financial difficulty were the most. As for "the best aspects of caring for parents", the most frequent responses were good for children's upbringing and family harmony. Based on the results, suggestions for further research have been discussed.
The purpose of this study is analyze the pattern and factors affecting the shelter exit and the patterns of homeless women in Korea. For this study, survey data were collected from 139 sheltered homeless women in Seoul in May of 2007. And respondent's exit time and exit pattern from the shelter were investigated through administration data of shelter in December of 2008. Life table analysis, Cox-proportional hazard analysis and competing risk survival analysis were employed in order to analyze data. The major findings were as follows. First, life table analysis shows that the exit ratio of homeless women started to fall sharply in 24 months from entry into shelter. Second, subjective health status, ratio of the homeless in social network and shelter entry with children affected the likelihood of shelter exit of homeless women. Third, age, subjective health status, depression and shelter entry with children affected the likelihood of positive exit. And ratio of the homeless in social network affected the likelihood of negative exit. Based on these findings, this study implied the introduction of case management service concerning individual shelter exit plan and policy for residential stability of homeless women.

This study aimed to determine of osseointegration following dental implantation in the dog mandible using bone scintigraphy. Five mongrel dogs, weighing approximately 8.5 kg and averaging 1.8 years of age, without active periodontal disease were used. During the entire study period, all dogs were fed a soft commercial diet and water ad libitum to minimize functional loading of the implant. Titanium alloy implant systems 10 mm in length and 4 mm in diameter were chosen for insertion. Twelve weeks prior to implantation, the second and third left mandibular premolars in each dog were extracted for the dental implant insertion. Before the dental implantation procedures and 0, 4, 8, and 12 weeks after the insertions, clinical observation, radiography and bone scintigraphy were conducted. The scintigraphy was obtained using a large field of view gamma camera equipped with a paralled-hole, low-energy collimator about 3 hours after intravenous injection of Tc-99m-MDP (8 mCi/dog) to the dogs. There were not inflammation sign after insertion of dental implants on the mandible in dogs. Implants were slightly movable at the first and fourth weeks, and there was no mobility after 8 weeks. Twelve weeks after dental implantation, the bone uptake scintigraphy of peri-implant bone was similar to that of normal alveolar bone, indicating that peri-implant bone was completely regenerated by new bone. In conclusion, we recommend stable implant fixation with alveolar bone for the accurate and safe repair of teeth loot due to decacy, trauma or peridontal disease. Titanium alloy implants were optimal due to their biocompatibility.

This study presents problems and improvement measures for the supply rate of single-alarm detector and fire extinguisher installed in households. Statistics from the NFDS show that 18 percent of all fires and 45 percent of deaths occurred in residential buildings over the past eight years. It was less than 60% that households be equipped rate of basic fire-fighting systems by 2019. In this study, I analyzed the law and statistics of fire to devise a method for fire safety. I proposed that the basic fire-fighting systems is be equipped in households. Like this : First, a free distribution policy for the over 60 years of age and Areas where is fire engine difficult to enter. Second, the policy of adopting safety pay in disaster. Third, the policy of expanding supply through the revision of the Licensed Real Estate Agents Act. Fourth, the policy of self-regulating installation by safety education and set up a data base system. Fifth make a law of household's National Fire Safety Standards.
In recent years, developed countries have begun to pay attention to female workers through work-family balance in order to solve the problem of low fertility and aging. Korea has been building and running a women leaders database (hereafter, women leaders DB) centered on the female professionals since 2011. In particular, the Incheon women leader DB, which was built by Incheon city in 2009, is a classic example. As of 2015, about 2,735 people are registered in Incheon Women Leaders DB and it is systematically creating the database such as age, education, career years, major, occupation, and certification. However, there are administrative problems such as unspecified definition on professionalism and data trust issues including data entry, and DB personnels are concentrated in specific fields. Also, in the case of certification proving expertise, the utilization problem has been revealed including inclusion of private certification not yet verified. In order to solve these problems, we first need to clarify the concept of women leaders and establish the standard. The second is the improvement of data consistency through DB reorganization, and third is to build a system through continuous and active public relations that is used by both job seekers and recruiters.
Accurate information on habitat distribution of protected fauna is essential for the habitat management of Korea, a country with very high development pressure. The objectives of this study were to develop a habitat suitability model of wild boar based on GIS and logistic regression, and to create habitat distribution map, and to prepare the basis for habitat management of our country s endangered and protected species. The modeling process of this restudyarch had following three steps. First, GIS database of environmental factors related to use and availability of wild boar habitat were built. Wild boar locations were collected by Radio-Telemetry and GPS. Second, environmental factors affecting the habitat use and availability of wild boars were identified through chi-square test. Third, habitat suitability model based on logistic regression were developed, and the validity of the model was tested. Finally , habitat assessment map was created by utilizing a rule-based approach. The results of the study were as folos. First , distinct difference in wild boar habitat use by season and habitat types were found, however, no difference in wild boar habiat use by season and habitat types were found , however, ho difference by sex and activity types were found. Second, it was found, through habitat availability analysis, that elevation , aspect , forest type, and forest age were significant natural environmental factors affecting wild boar hatibate selection, but the effects of slope, ridge/valley, water, and solar radiation could not be identified, Finally, the habitat at cutoff value of 0.5. The model validation showed that inside validation site had the classification accuracy of 73.07% for total habitat and 80.00% for cover habitat , and outside validation site had the classification accuracy of 75.00% for total habitat.
The purpose of this study was to explore ethnic socialization enacted by Japanese marriage migrant women currently raising 7- to 18-year-old children in Korea. To accomplish this goal, we examined the following research questions: (1) What is the level of ethnic socialization enacted by Japanese marriage migrant mothers? (2) Does the level of ethnic socialization vary by demographic and ethnocultural factors? (3) To what extent do demographic and ethnocultural factors influence the enactment of ethnic socialization by Japanese marriage migrant mothers? The sample consisted of 243 Japanese marriage migrant women currently raising 7- to 18-year-old children in Korea. For data analysis, T-test, correlation, ANOVA, and hierarchical regression analyses were used. Also, we performed separate analyses for two subtypes of ethnic socialization in particular, namely cultural socialization and preparation for bias. Ethnocultural factors examined in this study were the level of discrimination experience, Japanese ethnic identity, and husbands' ethnic orientation in childrearing. The main results of this study were as follows. First, results showed that Japanese marriage migrant women enacted moderate levels of cultural socialization and preparation for bias. Second, Japanese marriage migrant women's cultural socialization and preparation for bias were both positively related to the levels of women's discrimination experience and Japanese ethnic identity. Also, the younger the age of the firstborn child, the more preparation for bias these women performed. In addition, women whose Korean husbands wanted to raise their children more biculturally performed more cultural socialization compared to those with Korean husbands who wanted to raise their children as Korean. Third, hierarchical regression analyses revealed that women's discrimination experience and ethnic identity positively predicted both types of ethnic socialization. Also, Korean husband's bicultural orientation towards childrearing predicted a higher level of cultural socialization by Japanese marriage migrant women. Results of this study provide basic information about ethnic socialization among multicultural families in Korea, which can be useful for promoting positive self-identity among multicultural children. Furthermore, the results suggest that husbands' support and cooperation in ethnic socialization can be crucial for marriage migrant women to socialize their children utilizing their cultural and experiential resources.
