GOCI를 이용한 동중국해 표층 염분 산출 알고리즘 개발 (A Development for Sea Surface Salinity Algorithm Using GOCI in the East China Sea)

  • 매년 여름철 양자강에서 유출되는 저염분수는 동중국해 뿐만 아니라 제주도 주변 해역의 염분 변화에 큰 영향을 미치며 때때로 그 영향은 한반도 연안에 국한되지 않고 대한해협을 통과하여 동해 외해 까지 확장되기도 한다. 한반도 주변으로 확장된 양자강 유출수는 해양 물리 및 생태학적으로 많은 영향을 끼치며 어업 및 양식업에 큰 피해를 유발하기도 한다. 그러나 현장조사의 한계점 때문에 동중국해에서 확산되는 저염분수를 지속적으로 관측하기에는 현실적으로 어려움이 있다. 이러한 이유로 양자강 유출수의 확산을 실시간으로 모니터링하기 위해 인공위성을 활용한 표층 염분 산출 연구가 많이 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 시간 및 공간 해상도가 상대적으로 좋은 GOCI(Geostationary Ocean Color Imager)를 활용한 동중국해 표층 염분 산출 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 알고리즘 개발을 위해 기계학습 기법 중 하나인 MPNN(Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network)을 이용하였으며, 출력층에는 SMAP(Soil Moisture Active Passive) 위성의 표층 염분 자료를 활용하였다. 이전 연구에서 2016년 자료를 이용한 표층 염분 산출 알고리즘이 개발되었으나 본 연구에서는 연구 기간을 2015년 부터 2020년까지로 확장하여 알고리즘 성능을 개선하였다. 2011년부터 2019년까지 동중국해에서 관측된 국립수산과학원의 정선조사자료를 이용하여 알고리즘 성능을 검증한 결과로 R2는 0.61과 RMSE는 1.08 psu로 나타났다. 본 연구는 GOCI를 이용한 동중국해 표층 염분 모니터링 알고리즘 개발을 위해 수행되었으며, 향후 GOCI-II의 표층 염분 산출 알고리즘 개발에 많은 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다.

소화기계 암환자의 국내 간호연구 분석 (Analysis of Cancer Nursing Research in Digestive System in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study was to analyze the research trend centering on the theses to cancer nursing research in digestive system released in Korea. Method: The researcher collected the academic degrees and theses published on the book of the academic soceity from January 1993 to August, 2004, and examined 38 domestic papers of cancer nursing research in digestive system. Results: 1) As for the subject, the results were : patients with stomach cancer 25(66%), colon cancer 4(11%), rectal cancer 3(8%), and others(taxi drivers 2, family of cancer patents. 2) As for the research designs the result were : quantitative studies were 33(87%), and qualitative studies were 9(23%). 3) As for key concepts of survey, the results were : life patterns of patients with rectal cancer, oral intake of stomach cancer patients, fatigue of stomach cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, nursing needs when discharging from hospital after operation with gastrectomy, and so on. 4) As for the comparative studies, the results were : risk factors between colorectal patients and general population, early symptom and risk factors between stomach cancer patients and general population, and risk factors between stomach cancer and patients with gastritis. 5) As for main concepts of correlational studies, the results were : quality of life, health belief, fatigue, health promotion behavior, social support, straitanxiety. 6) The treatment of experimental research, the results were : information services, arc reflex massage, acupressure, educational program for discharge, 7)As for the qualitative studies, in terms of subjects, stomach cancer patients were 2, spouse of patients with stomach cancer was 1, rectal cancer patients were 2. In the theme of the qualitative studies, the results were: experience of family of patients with stomach cancer, experience of long term survival of patients with rectal cancer, experience of disease process of rectal cancer patiens. 8) As for the used instrument in studies, the results were : Strait-anxiety Scale by Spielberger, Nausea and Vomiting Scale by Rhodes, Social support by Tae and Lee, Health belief by Champion, Becker, and Moon. QOL by NCCN, Roh, Pdilla, Kwon, Revised Fatigue Scale by Piper, Health Locus of Control by Wallston and Wallston, Uncertainty Scale by Mishel. Conclusions: More research needs to be encouraged in various subject of cancer patients in digestive system. More nonexperimental and experimental researches should be conducted for the establishment of the basis of practical and theoretical framework and the providing good quality of care for cancer patients.

지구물리 탐사에 의해 발견된 제주도 용암동굴의 특징과 의미 (Characteristics and Implications of Lava Tubes from Geophysical Exploration in Jeju Island)

  • 제주도에서 기존에 알려진 동굴 이외에 새로운 지하동굴의 존재를 확인하기 위해 제주시 구좌읍 일대에서 지구물리탐사(전기비저항탐사, GPR탐사, ZHF탐사)를 실시하였다. 탐사결과 여러 지점에서 동굴로 추정되는 이상대가 발견되었고, 이상대의 위치와 규모가 일치하는 27개 지점을 선별하여 시추조사를 실시하였다. 그러나 예상과 달리 이상대의 대부분은 용암의 상하부에 형성된 클링커층이거나 용암 사이에 협재된 고토양층이었으며, 5곳에서만 동굴이 발견되었다. 클링커층과 고토양층은 용암과 다른 암석의 물리적 특징으로 인해 이상체로 반응한 것으로 해석된다. 한편 동굴이 확인된 5개 지점 중 2공은 기존에 알려진 용천동굴을 관통하였고, 3공에서 새로운 동굴이 확인되었다. 용천동굴을 관통한 시추공은 시추당시 동굴의 존재가 확인되지 않았던 구간이었으나 용천동굴이 관통됨에 따라 기존 측량도의 오류를 수정하였다. 한편 시추조사로 새롭게 발견된 석회장식 용암동굴은 길이가 약 180 m이며, 상류방향으로 당처물동굴(약 110 m)과 연결되어 있다. 또한 동굴내부에는 용암곡석, 용암제방, 밧줄구조 등이 발달해 있으며, 탄산염 동굴생성물로는 종유관, 종유석, 석순, 석주, 동굴산호 등이 잘 보존되어 있다. 특히 동굴에서 발견되는 탄산염 동굴생성물은 식물 뿌리를 따라 유입된 지표수에 의해 성장하여 독특한 형태를 띠게 된 것으로 추정된다.

한국 남동해역 사질퇴적물의 물리적 성질 (Physical Properties of Sandy Sediment in the Southeastern Coast of Korea)

  • 한국 남동해역의 사질퇴적물의 물리적 성질 분포는 수심과 해류의 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 수심 80m를 전후하여 잔류퇴적물인 muddy sand가 분포하고 모래함량은 $60\%$ 이상이며 수직적인 조직 및 물성변화는 별로 크지 않다. 표층퇴적물의 수평분포의 경우 평균입도는 한반도 동남해역과 대마도 중간선에서 가장 조립질로 나타나며 이와 완전히 일치하지는 않지만 전밀도의 경우도 중앙부가 높게 ($1.80g/cm^3$ 이상) 분포한다. 공극율과 함수율의 경우는 전밀도의 분포와 반대로 대한해협의 중심부 부근이 낮고 한반도나 대마도 쪽이 높은데 이는 평균입도 분포에서도 볼 수 있듯이 세립질 퇴적물 성분의 증가와 연관되어 있다. 또한 대마해류의 주 통로를 중심으로 북서-남동 방향으로 증가하는 양상이 뚜렷하게 관찰된다.

국제법상 북극항로에서의 통항제도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Legal Issues relating to Navigation through Arctic Passage)

  • Arctic sea ice has been retreating as a result of the global warming. Arctic sea ice extent for April 2018 averaged 13.71 million square kilometers. This figure shows far less sea ice compared to the average extent from 1981 to 2010. Meanwhile, 287 times of maritime transits through the Northwest Passage have been made during the 2017 and the first ship traversed the Northern Sea Route without the assistant of ice-breaker in August 2017. Commercialization of the Arctic Passage means significant economic and strategic advantages by shortening the distance. In this article, 'Arctic Passage' means Northern Sea Route along the Arctic coast of Russia and Northwest Passage crossing Canadian Arctic Ocean. As climate changes, the potential feasibility of the Arctic Passage has been drawing international attention. Since navigation in this area remains hazardous in some aspects, IMO adopted Polar Code to promote safe, secure and sustainable shipping through the Arctic Passage. Futhermore, Russia and Canada regulate foreign vessels over the maritime zones with the authority to unilaterally exercise jurisdiction pursuant to the Article 234 of UNCLOS. The dispute over the navigation regime of the arctic passage materialized with Russia proclaimed Dmitrii Laptev and Sannikov Straits as historically belong to U.S.S.R. in the mid 1960s and Canada declared that the waters of the passage are historic internal waters in 1973 for the first time. So as to support their claims, In 1985, Russia and Canada established straight baseline including Northern Sea Route and Northwest Passage. The United States has consistently protested that the Northern Sea Route and Northwest Passage are straits used for international navigation which are subject to the regime of transit passage. Firstly, it seems that Russia and Canada do not meet the basic requirements for acquiring a historic title. Secondly, since the Law of the Sea had adopted before the establishment of straight baseline over the Russian Arctic Archipelago and the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, Ships can exercise at least the right of innocent passage. Lastly, Northern Sea Route and Northwest Passage have fulfilled the both geographical and functional criteria pertaining to the strait used for international navigation under the international law. Especially, should the arctic passage become commercially viable, it can be expected to accumulate the functional criterion. Russia and Canada regulate the ships navigate in their maritime zones by adopting the higher degree of an environmental standard than generally accepted international rules and standard mainly under the Article 234 of UNCLOS. However, the Article 234 must be interpreted restrictively as this contains constraint on the freedom of navigation. Thus, it is reasonable to consider that the Article 234 is limited only to the EEZ of coastal states. Therefore, ships navigating in the Arctic Passage with the legal status of the territorial sea and the international straits under the law of the sea have the right of innocent passage and transit passage as usual.

동중국해 북부해역의 겨울철 수계와 전선구조 (Water Masses and Frontal Structures in Winter in the Northern East China Sea)

  • 겨울철인 1998년 2월과 1999년 1월, 4월에 남해와 동중국해 북부해역에서 형성되는 전선의 분포와 구조를 파악하기 위하여 광역의 종합해양관측을 수행하였다. 관측해역에서 구분된 수계들은 대마난류기원 고온수, 황해냉수(북부냉수 혹은 중앙냉수) 그리고 남해저온수로 분류된다. 황해남부 해역에서는 제주도 서쪽을 우회하여 제주해협으로 유입하는 대마난류기원 고온수가 '┍'자 형태의 기본적 전선을 이루며 대흑산도 남쪽에 황해중앙냉수와 그리고 양자천퇴 동부에서 황해북부냉수와 만나고 있다. 이 전선은 고온수가 황해 북서부로 확장하는 세기에 의해 전선 모서리 형태와 위치가 달라진다. 양자천퇴 부근과 한반도 남서단 외측에서의 전선위치와 구조도 관측시기에 따라 변화한다 남해 전선에서는 연안 저온수가 국지적 냉각에 의해 독립적으로 형성된 수계로서 해저사면을 따라 침강한다. 이러한 겨울철 전선분포의 변화와 전선구조가 변화되는 과정은 탁월풍에 의한 순풍류 및 역풍류, 해수면을 통한 열수지 그리고 전선사이의 밀도차이에 의한 것으로 설명되었다.

VTS관제사의 최소안전거리에 관한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study on the VTS Operator's Minimum Safe Distance)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 각 항만 VTS에서 근무하고 있는 현직 관제사들을 대상으로 관제 구역 내에서 선박의 안전한 운항을 위해 선박과 선박 사이 및 선박과 육지(장애물)와의 최소 안전거리를 조사하여 VTS 관제의 효율성을 제고하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 안전한 선박 통항을 위한 기초 자료를 제시하기 위해 우리나라 각 항만 VTS 관제사들이 관제하는 안전이격거리를 각 VTS 센터별, 개인별로 설문 조사 및 분석을 하고 실습선을 이용하여 선박 통항이 밀집되어 있는 싱가포르와 말라카 해협에서의 관제 거리를 서로 비교하여 VTS 관제사간의 최소안전거리에 어떠한 차이점이 있는지를 조사하였다. 설문조사 결과 같은 VTS 소속임에도 불구하고 개인별로 관제하는 최소안전거리에는 많은 차이가 있고 전체적으로 해안선이 완만한 동해항의 경우 관제 안전거리가 타 항만보다 컸으며 해안선이 복잡하고 어선 및 여객선의 입출항이 잦은 목포항이 관제 안전거리가 가장 짧음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 동일한 VTS에 근무하는 관제사들이 정형화된 관제 방법에 따라 관제를 할 수 있도록 항만의 자연조건이나 교통량에 적합한 모듈(Module)을 개발할 필요성이 필요하며 향후에는 표준관제절차 수립을 위한 전문가 집단의 충분한 논의가 있어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

Long-term and Real-time Monitoring System of the East/Japan Sea

  • Long-term, continuous, and real-time ocean monitoring has been undertaken in order to evaluate various oceanographic phenomena and processes in the East/Japan Sea. Recent technical advances combined with our concerted efforts have allowed us to establish a real-time monitoring system and to accumulate considerable knowledge on what has been taking place in water properties, current systems, and circulation in the East Sea. We have obtained information on volume transport across the Korea Strait through cable voltage measurements and continuous temperature and salinity profile data from ARGO floats placed throughout entire East Sea since 1997. These ARGO float data have been utilized to estimate deep current, inertial kinetic energy, and changes in water mass, especially in the northern East Sea. We have also developed the East Sea Real-time Ocean Buoy (ESROB) in coastal regions and made continual improvements till it has evolved into the most up-to-date and effective monitoring system as a result of remarkable technical progress in data communication systems. Atmospheric and oceanic measurements by ESROB have contributed to the recognition of coastal wind variability, current fluctuations, and internal waves near and off the eastern coast of Korea. Long-tenn current meter moorings have been in operation since 1996 between Ulleungdo and Dokdo to monitor the interbasin deep water exchanges between the Japanese and Ulleung Basins. In addition, remotely sensed satellite data could facilitate the investigation of atmospheric and oceanic surface conditions such as sea surface temperature (SST), sea surface height, near-surface winds, oceanic color, surface roughness, and so on. These satellite data revealed surface frontal structures with a fairly good spatial resolution, seasonal cycle of SST, atmospheric wind forcing, geostrophic current anomalies, and biogeochemical processes associated with physical forcing and processes. Since the East Sea has been recognized as a natural laboratory for global oceanic changes and a clue to abrupt climate change, we aim at constructing a 4-D continuous real-time monitoring system, over a decade at least, using the most advanced techniques to understand a variety of oceanic processes in the East Sea.

한국남해(韓國南海)의 지질구조(地質構造)에 관(關)한 지구물리학적(地球物理學的) 연구(硏究) (Geophysical Studies on the Geological Structure in the Southern Sea of Korea)

  • An airborne magnetometer survey was carried out over an offshore area of about $200,000km^2$ from the southeastern, southern and western part of Korea. Detailed magnetic studies on the geological structure of the southern part of above area ($100,000km^2$) was accomplished. Residual aeromagnetic map was made in order to delineate magnetic provinces, magnetic lineaments and sedimentary basins by application of least square method using computer system. To determine the depth of the sedimentary basins pseudo-gravimetric method was applied. 1. The area studied is divided into four magnetic provinces for the purpose of interpretation on the basis of the magnetic maps. 2. Near shore area and its attached islands of southern part (fiirst and second magnetic province) can be regarded as being the extension from the land geology due to presentation of strong magnetic anomalies and shallow magnetic basements. 3. Magnetic lineament 1-1 is strong magnetic anomalous region which is presumably relevant to volcanic activities in Cretaceous. The depth of magnetic basement of the lineament was determined to 1,500 m. Negative magnetic anomalous zones B1-1 and B1-2 which represent Tertiary basins showed depth of magnetic basement 3 km and 4 km each. The latter can be interpreted as extension of the Taiwan basin which is consisted of Tertiary sediments. 4. Magnetic lineament 2-1 coincide with Rainan-Fukien massif running NE-SW direction. A lineament located in central part of magnetic lineament 2-1 is well connected with extension of Sobacksan anticlinal axis on land. Volcanic rocks in Gyongsang system concentrated along this lineament. 5. The characteristics of magnetic pattern in the southern Yellow sea basin of western part of Jeju island show weaker magnetic anomalies and deeper magnetic basements than first and second magnetic provinces indicating geological structure of this basin seems to be quite different from that of Jeju strait. 6. In southern part of Jeju island, smoother magnetic pattern develope southward. Maximum depth of magnetic basement in sedimentary basins BIV-1 and BIV-2 were determined down to 6,000 m increasing its thickness toward Taiwan up to 11,000 m in the shelf area off Taichung, Taiwan. Judging from the fact that hydrocarbon was founded in the Tertiary sediments of western coastal area of Taiwan, it can be expected that hydrocarbon will be existed in these sedimentary basins of southern part of Jeju island.

음향 조사에 의한 2002/2003 하계 시기의 남극 남쉐틀랜드 군도와 남오크니섬 사이의 크릴 밀도 (Acoustic Estimate of the Krill (Euphausia superba) Density between South Shetland Islands and South Orkney Islands, Antarctica, During 2002/2003 Austral Summer)

  • Acoustic survey for density and biomass estimate of Antarctic krill, Euphausia superba, was conducted in the large area between South Shetland Islands and South Orkney Islands, during November 30-December 30, 2002. Considering oceanographic and geographic properties, the study area was divided into six sub-regions. Acoustic system and frequency used in the survey were quantitative echo sounder (Simrad Ek 500) and 38, 120-kHz split beam transducers. In order to discriminate krill aggregations in all acoustic signal, difference of mean volume backscattering strength $({\Delta}MVBS)$ method of the two frequencies was introduced. Averaged krill density for the overall surveyed area was $23.5g/m^2$, and spatially averaged estimates of krill density were $44.9g/m^2$ (north of the South Shetland Islands), $30.3g/m^2$ (Bransfield Strait), $11.3g/m^2$ (near the Elephant Island), $13.6g/m^2$ (north of the Elephant Island), $18.1g/m^2$(between Elephant Island and South Orkney Islands) and $21.7g/m^2$(northwest of the South Orkney Islands) at each sub-area. In the two sub-regions with surveyed area, estimated krill biomass in the north of the Elephant Island was 0.315 million tones with a CV of 18.35% $(6,766mile^2)$, and between Elephant Island and South Orkey Islands was 1.26 million tones with a CV of 9.45% $(20,299mile^2)$. As a whole, the krill density in the early summer season was low level, comparing with that of January-February. This suggested that major krill swarms in the around South Shetland Islands were reached in the mid-summer seasons from western part of the Antarctic Peninsula, and the low krill density also affects the density variation of the krill between Elephant Island and South Orkney Islands.
