Criteria for Evaluating Cryptographic Algorithms, based on Statistical Testing of Randomness (AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) 평가에 대한 고찰)

  • In this paper, we investigate criteria for evaluating cryptographic strength based on randomness testing of the advanced encryption standard candidates, which have conducted by NIST(National Institute of Standards & Technology). It is difficult to prove that a given cryptographic algorithm meets sufficient conditions or requirements for provable security. The statistical testing of random number generators is one of methods to evaluate cryptographic strength and is based on statistical properties of random number generators. We apply randomness testing on several cryptographic algorithms that have not been tested by NIST and find criteria for evaluating cryptographic strength from the results of randomness testing. We investigate two criteria, one is the number of rejected samples and the other is the p-value from p-values of the samples.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to development the fire evaluating test methods for the Electric hair dryers. Methods: We was designed FMEA (Failure mode and effects analysis) in order to analyze the fire mechanism on the electric hair dryers and designed evaluating test methods (Durability tests on the environment, Mechanical durability tests) obtained through the two-step QFD (Quality Function Depolyment) and tested. Conclusion: We verified the evaluating fire test methods on the electric hair dryers through the analysis of the test results and some reproduction test.

The Effects of BBS Evaluating Frequency for Balance in Patients with Stroke (BBS 평가 빈도가 뇌졸중 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향)

  • Background: The purposes of this study were to examine whether “Berg Balance Sale(BBS)” had influence on the improvement of stroke patient's balancing ability, and to identify whether the effects had significant differences to these three groups that different frequency of BBS evaluation. Subjects were divided into three groups, a daily evaluating group (n=12), weekly evaluating group (n=12), and group that evaluating when admit and discharge (n=12). Methods: All patients were treated general neurorehabilitative physical therapy for daily during 4 weeks. All patients of these groups were evaluated balance function by using of BBS balance testing tool. Results: At the first week and after 4 weeks, balance function that of these groups was improved significantly (p<,05). Especially, daily evaluating group was improved the most. In the comparison differences between 3 groups, daily evaluating group and weekly evaluating group, daily evaluating group and group that evaluating when admit and discharge were exhibited differences significantly. But there was no significant difference between weekly evaluating group and group that evaluating when admit and discharge. Conclusion: According to the results as presented above, testing method, BBS is effects on stroke patient's balancing ability considerably. And if BBS which can apply evaluate balance function properly apply with conventional neurorehabilitative physical therapy, stroke patients would obtain significant effects on the improvement of balancing ability.

  • Residual stress is the key parameter for reliability and lifetime assessment because it can reduce the fatigue strength and fracture properties of industrial structures. Recently, instrumented indentation testing (IIT) has been widely used for evaluating it, since it does not need specific specimen and time-consuming procedure. However, conventional Oliver-Pharr method, which is used for calibrating contact depth to analyze indentation load-depth curve, cannot estimate plastic pile-up between indenter and surface of specimen. Here, we introduce f parameter which is the ratio of contact depth and maximum depth, to consider pile-up height. And, its application for evaluating residual stress of weldment is introduced.

  • In this paper, the evaluating test methods of the fire and the electric shock on the Electric pad using the house is proposed. We analyzed electric pad using magnetic shielded type hot wire because electric pad using the magnetic shielded type hot wire generally be used in the home.   • The goal of this study is to develop test method for evaluating the drug eluting properties of drug eluting stents (DES). PBS and the detergent solutions, presented by each DES manufacturer, were used for drug release of DES coated with paclitaxel, zotarolimus and everolimus. The drugs which are coating DES were not released by PBS but released by the detergent solutions, finally paclitaxel 83.38%, zotarolimus 103.85% and everolimus 115.78%. It seems that the use of the detergents is necessary in order to release the drugs because those drugs are extremely hydrophobic. In conclusion, using of detergent solutions presented by each manufacturer were suitable for evaluating the drug eluting property of drug eluting stent.

  • Evaluating service lives of rubber materials at certain temperatures requires a destructive method (typically using elongation at break). In this study, a non-destructive method based on hardness change rate was proposed for evaluating the service life of chloroprene rubber (CR). Compared to the destructive method, this non-destructive method ensures homogeneity of CR specimens and requires a small number of samples. Thermal accelerated degradation test was conducted on the CR specimens at 55, 70, 85, 100, and 125℃, and the tensile strength, elongation at break, and hardness were measured. The results of the experiment were compared to those of the accelerated life evaluation method proposed in this study. Comparing the analyzed lives in the high temperature region (70, 85, 100, and 125℃), the difference between the service lives for the destructive method (using the elongation at break) and non-destructive method (using the hardness) was approximately 0.1 year. Therefore, it was confirmed that the proposed non-destructive evaluation method based on hardness changes can evaluate the actual life of CR under thermally accelerated degradation conditions.

  • Accelerated testing consists of a variety of test methods for shortening the life of products or hastening the degradation of their performance. This paper presents practical, modern statistical methods for evaluating the reliability of Nickel-Cadmium batteries at their design temperature of 2$0^{\circ}C$ by accelerated life test. Batteries have been life tested at three high temperature conditions, 50, 60, 7$0^{\circ}C$, respectively to yield failures quickly. The failures have been observed and judged by means of charge and discharge current integration. Analyses of life data from those conditions resulted in the Weibull distribution, which has been verified on the ground of the Kolmogorov-smirnov test and the pairwise t-test. Life data are modeled according to the Arrhenius life-temperature relationship. The mean life of tested batteries is assessed at about 590 cycles, and the activation energy of this chemical reaction is concluded to be 0.39eV as results. This study provides procedures for estimating the reliability of batteries in a short period, which has little been possible in domestic industries. The results can be applied in many fields such as proof testing, acceptance testing, and estimating assurance periods.

  • The problem surrounding methods of implementing the software testing process has come under the spotlight in recent times. However, as compliance with the software testing process does not necessarily bring with it immediate economic benefits, IT companies need to pursue more aggressive efforts to improve the process, and the software industry needs to makes every effort to improve the software testing process by evaluating the Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi). Furthermore, as the software test process is only at the initial level, high-quality software cannot be guaranteed. This paper applies TMMi model to Automobile control software testing process, including test policy and strategy, test planning, test monitoring and control, test design and execution, and test environment goal. The results suggest improvement of the automobile control software testing process based on Test maturity model. As a result, this study suggest IT organization's test process improve method.
