Designing and Developing an Automatic Robot System for the Itemized Loading of Apple Boxes at the Agriculture Products Processing Center (거점산지유통센터의 사과박스 구분적재 자동화 로봇 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • Currently, the itemized box loading operation at the Agriculture Products Processing Center which distributes agricultural products for the region is carried out manually. The process of loading agricultural products requires great manpower and had been resolved through the part-time employment of the residents of farm villages. However, recently it has become quite difficult to secure manpower as the aging within the rural community has been intensified. Hence, the necessity for countermeasures such as facility automation or use of robots have become necessary. This study suggests an automatic robot system for the itemized loading of apple boxes at the Agriculture Products Processing Center. The suggested method is to design and develop equipment such as a conveyer, robot, and bar code reader. In addition, a sorting plan, operational control, generation of control information, and software module that could monitor the inside of the Agriculture Products Processing Center is needed. After test-operating and evaluating the developed system, the existing manual work would be replaced with the automated robot system in order to enhance work efficiency and resolve safety issues.

  • For FA (factory automation) and ATE (automatic test equipment) in the industrial area, the standard bus needs to increase the system performance of multiprocessor environment. VME(versa module european package format) bus is appropriated to the standard bus but has features of small package and low board density. Beside, the density of board and semiconductor have grown to become significant issues that affect development time, project cost and field diagnostics. To fit this trend, in this paper, we composed Revision C.1 (IEEE std. P1014-1987) of the integrated environment for the main function such as arbitration, interrupt and interface between, VMEbus and several control modules Also the designed, VME system controller is implemented on FPGA that can be located even into slot 1. The control and function modules are coded with VHDL mid-fixed description method and then those operations are verified by simulation. As a result of experiment, we confirmed the most important that is the operation of Bus timer about Bus error signal should occur within $56{\mu}m$, and both control and function modules have the reciprocal operation correctly. Thus, the constructed VHDL library will be able to apply the system based VMEbus and ASIC design.

Multiple-Point-Diffraction Interferometer : Error Analysis and Calibration (거친 표면 형상측정을 위한 점광원 절대간섭계의 오차해석과 시스템 변수의 보)

  • An absolute interferometer system with multiple point-sources is devised for tile 3-D measurement of rough surface profiles. The positions of the point sources are determined to be the system parameters that influence the measurement accuracy, so they are calibrated precisely prior to performing actual measurements. For the calibration, a CCD camera composed of a two-dimensional array of photo-detectors was used. Performing optimization of the cost function constructed with phase values measured at each pixel on the CCD camera, the position coordinates of each point source is precisely determined. Measurement results after calibration performed for the warpage inspection of chip scale packages (CSPs) demonstrate that the maximum discrepancy is 9.8 mm with a standard deviation o( 1.5 mm in comparison with the test results obtained by using a Form Taly Surf instrument.

A Design of the Smart Control System for Industrial Automation Equipment (산업용 자동화 장비를 위한 스마트 제어 시스템 설계)

  • Smart devices are used in a variety of industries, because applications for them are easy to develop and portable. However, industrial equipment can cause security problems for information and accidents when controlling the actuator of the equipment at a remote location. In this paper, we studied methods of solving these problems and the advantages of applying smart control systems to industrial equipment. We propose a manual manipulation method using queries and a smart control access procedure for controlling equipment using a smart device. In addition, we propose a data transmission method employing multiple encryption protocols and a user authentication method using unique information from the smart device and Q & A as the communication data protection and user authentication methods, respectively. In order to evaluate its performance, an operation test of the smart control system and user authentication comparison experiment were performed. In order to understand the advantages of applying the smart control system to the equipment, we conducted a comparative experiment with a teach pendant and evaluated its reaction time in case of error.

Development of an Automation Library in Multi-Body Dynamics Program for Dynamic Structural Analysis of Block Lifting Process (블록의 리프팅 동적 구조해석을 위한 다물체 동역학 프로그램의 내장형 자동화 라이브러리 개발)

  • In this study, an embedded system composed of equipment setting, block importing, scenario setting and output reporting is developed in multi-body dynamics program, ADAMS, for conducting dynamic structural analysis of block lifting process. First, equipment used for block lifting process is set in the simulation environment and the shapes and functions of two lifting beams, and six block loaders are provided as the equipment. Second, the modal analysis result of the lifting block is imported from the static structural analysis system, NASTRAN. Third, the lifting scenarios, such as hoisting, waiting, trolley moving, and wire connecting, are set in the system. Finally, output results in the forms of plots, texts and tables, are reported after the dynamic structural analysis. The test examples conducted in a shipyard are applied into the developed system in various condition and scenarios. The loads at the lug points, the stress contours, and the hot spot tables of the developed system are compared with the result of the static analysis system.

  • Autonomous ship has been sportlighted as a core technology for the maritime industry in Industry 4.0 era. Autonomous ship is expeected to improve the safety, reliability, efficiency and environment significantly. For the realization of the autonomous ship, the remote control of the ship is one of the core functionality in addition to the autonomous ship control functionality in a ship. In this paper, we address a autonomous ship control system based on remote control. This paper proposes a remote control autonomous system and standardized ship-to-shore remote control protocol with for open platform. Finally, we implemented the system and tested with a real experiments with the test ship in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed remote control autonomous system.

Material Properties of Repair Mortar Considering Accelerator Type and Curing Conditions (급결제 종류 및 양생조건을 고려한 보수용 모르타르의 재료특성)

  • In general, repair mortar is used to rehabilitate underground communities, but difficulties are encountered in the execution of long-term construction due to spatial co-operatives. In this study, the engineering properties of repair mortar according to the curing condition and accelerator type were reviewed. The results showed that the aluminate, alkali-free and calcium-aluminate precipitates in the water curing conditions showed higher compressive strength at the beginning of age than mortar specimens under air curing conditions, and increased. Especially in CA and AF test specimen with cement mineral quick setting, a large amount of ettringite products were observed compared with AL, thus reducing the pore volume and increasing the strength of the compound by micro-filling effect were found.

  • This paper proposes an assessment method using probability-based index for safe and successful underwater docking of autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs) to the docking stations(DSs). The proposed method assesses the probability of docking according to the degree to which the state of the AUV is consistent with the state criteria for docking. The assessment is performed within a specific area considering the kinematic constraints and docking plans of the AUV. The assessment process is defining probability density function, calculating probabilities for reaching the docking station according to the difference to position and heading criteria, and computing the probability-based index in real-time. We verify the validity of the proposed method through analyzing the data acquired on operation test.

  • Recently, as the number of high-height vehicles such as double-decker buses has increased, collision accidents have occurred in bridges and tunnels due to the deviation from the designated routes and driver's carelessness. In the case of the existing front collision warning system, it is limited to vehicles and pedestrians, so it is difficult to use it as a pass height warning system for the high height vehicles. In this paper, we propose a system that generates a warning by determining the correlation and time series characteristics of data for each segment using multiple lidar sensors and then determining the possibility of collision in the upper part of the vehicle. Also, the proposed system confirmed the proper operation through a real-time driving test and a system performance evaluation by the Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute.

A Study on the Establishment of Rule-Based Modules for Automating the Design of Interior Finishes in Architectural Buildings (건축 내부 마감 자동 상세화를 위한 규칙 기반 모듈 구축 방안에 관한 연구 - 바닥, 벽 및 천장을 중심으로 -)

  • BIM facilitates data transparency and consistency through three-dimensional parametric modeling and promotes the accurate managing and sharing of project information. In Korea, however, BIM-based detailed design of architectural interior finishes required during the Construction Documents phase increases the burden on architectural firms due to frequent design changes and manual workload. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to establish rule-based modules using parametric modeling that automates repetitive tasks that occur during the detailed design of interior finishing. Interviews with practitioners were conducted to analyze the major finishing elements. Of these floors, walls, and ceilings, which were the most rudimentary and common items, were selected as the subjects of the study. The modules developed in this study have two functions. One is to create new finish types, and the other is the automatic modeling of new types into rooms. For these functions, parameters that belonged to each finish and room element in a BIM model were analyzed and valid parameters directly used for parametric modeling were derived. Then, based on these parameters, rule-based modules for three elements, I.e., floors, walls, and ceilings were constructed with Revit Dynamo, and the effectiveness of the modules was verified with a pilot test. In conclusion, this study suggested a series of processes for automatic finishing to improve the efficiency of BIM-based architectural detailed design of finishes and to contribute in solving the chronic problems occuring during current design processes.
