  • The study was to find out whether the more difficult each activities of daily living(ADLs) is, the more high subjective health status, or health insecurity, is among those in their 65 or older in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The subjects were asked up to 1 to 5 points for subjective health status and ADLs. And according to the performance level of each activities of daily living, the order trend was analyzed in four groups (very difficult, difficult, easy, and very easy) by Jonckheere-Terpstra. Order trends were also compared using a linear regression line. Depending on the degree of difficulty in "using toilet," "bathing" and "shopping," the insecurities in subjective health status showed a corresponding order differences. It has been shown that the slope of "using toilet" on a linear regression line is the largest. The more difficult it was to "use toilet," "bathing" and "shopping," the higher the score of health insecurity was.

  • Recently, the proliferation of new applications, e.g., mobile TV, Internet gaming, large file transfer, and the various of user terminals, e.g., smart phones and notebooks, has dramatically increased user traffic and network load. In order to meet this traffic growth, vendors and cellular operators are working on the development of new technologies and cellular standards. Within them, small cell deployment has been heralded as one of most promising way to increase both coverage and capacity of future cellular network. Small cell technology enables to improve capacity of cellular radio network by tight cooperation between small cell and macro cell in multi-tier network where small cells are densely deployed within macro cell coverage. In this paper, we describe the deployment scenarios for cooperation between macro cell and small cells and state-of-the-art technologies related to dense small cell deployment. Then, we also provide design principles and standardization trends for small cell enhancement in 3GPP.

  • Most of low-grad heat (< $200^{\circ}C$) generated from industrial process and human body, is abandoned as waste heat. To harvest the waste heat, the thermoelectrics (TE) technology has been widely investigated so far. However, TE suffers from poor performance and high material cost. As an alternative to the TE device, the thermoelectrical cell (TEC) is gaining growing attention these days. The TEC features several advantages such as high Seebeck coefficient, low cost and design flexibility compared to TE, but its commercial viability was limited by its low heat-to-electricity conversion efficiency. However, recent reports have demonstrated that the performance of TEC can be markedly improved by employing novel electrode/electrolyte materials and by optimizing cell design. This article summarizes the recent progress of TECs in terms of the redox couples, electrolyte solvents and additives, electrode materials and cell design.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of National Health Insurance claim data and to construct a pilot medical episode data considering it. In this study, the trends of respiratory disease (ICD10: J00-J99) cardiovascular disease (ICD10: I00-I99) from the day of onset of treatment to re-admission after admission were confirmed in Seoul, and the largest decrease was observed when the no-treatment period was 0 day. The data reduction rate when the no-treatment period is 0 day is judged to be due to the monthly separation claim of the health insurance claim data. Also, the result that there is a tendency of monthly separation request according to the type of medical treatment. Through this study, we constructed epidemic data for the pilot medical treatment considering the characteristics of the claim data of health insurance, and based on this, it can be used as a data processing method for calculating basic epidemiological information.

  • Background Applicants to integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery (PRS) residency in the United States spend exorbitant amounts of time and money throughout the interview process. Outside of first-hand experience through a visiting rotation, applicants utilize various resources in learning about a program. Today's applicants are "Millennials," the demographic cohort raised during the information age and proficient with digital technology. The authors evaluated whether programs have a presence on social media, and whether applicants are following these accounts. Methods An online survey was sent to applicants to a single integrated plastic surgery program evaluating basic demographics, social media utilization, and sources of information accessed throughout the residency application process. A manual search of popular social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) was performed in October 2019. Accounts affiliated with integrated PRS programs were identified and analyzed. Results Eighty-four of 222 applicants (37.8%) completed the survey. Ninety-six percent of applicants were within the Millennial demographic. Ninety-six percent of applicants had some form of social media presence, with Facebook (90%) and Instagram (87%) being the most popular platforms. Seventy-three percent of applicants reported following a PRS residency social media account. As of October 2019, 59 integrated residency programs (73%) have active Instagram accounts. Conclusions Applicants still rely on the program website when researching potential residencies, but social media is being rapidly adopted by programs. Program social media accounts should be used as a dynamic form of communication to better inform applicants of program strengths and weaknesses.
