Geometrically exact initially curved Kirchhoff's planar elasto-plastic beam

  • In this paper we present geometrically exact Kirchhoff's initially curved planar beam model. The theoretical formulation of the proposed model is based upon Reissner's geometrically exact beam formulation presented in classical works as a starting point, but with imposed Kirchhoff's constraint in the rotated strain measure. Such constraint imposes that shear deformation becomes negligible, and as a result, curvature depends on the second derivative of displacements. The constitutive law is plasticity with linear hardening, defined separately for axial and bending response. We construct discrete approximation by using Hermite's polynomials, for both position vector and displacements, and present the finite element arrays and details of numerical implementation. Several numerical examples are presented in order to illustrate an excellent performance of the proposed beam model.

  • This paper discuss the role of venture capital as a critical financing sources for Venture Business particularly technology oriented firms. Thus this study is to analyse what makes the difference in financial performance among the companies. In particular, this paper focuses on their financing channels, which would have greater influence on their financial performance according to having venture capitals or not. As a result, taking into consideration of financial performance of the companies, there were significant differences in financial performance between venture companies with the capital and one without it. Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider capital policies for venture business and also those policies will be well alliance with nurturing the ventures not only support financing aids but also build up the institutional improvement plan.

시나리오 플래닝을 통한 국내 전자결제 산업의 활성화 전략 : 간편결제를 중심으로 (The Activation Strategy of Electronic Payment Industry Using Scenario Planning : Focusing Simple Payment)

  • The domestic simple payment service was not activated yet compared to foreign countries and there are many things to complement in the legal, institutional, and technical aspects. The future image of the domestic electronic payment propulsion was considered by the scenario planning focusing on the simple payment. Total 6 future scenarios were drawn through the scenario planning, and 3 major strategy directions for attaining the preferred future scenario were drawn. This study drew a meaningful scenario through various analyses and industry specialist questionnaire about the future of the simple payment service which will be a crucial change of the domestic electronic payment under the uncertain future situation, and suggested an implication for the government and every interested party who provides the industrial service to prepare for the future.

Shifting Alliances in International Organizations: A social networks analysis of co-sponsorship of UN GA resolutions, 1976-2012

  • While general belief is that the military alliances are stable and rigid, the authors argue that the states are far more flexible in their behavior and often act against their alliances. This paper looks at states' behavior in the UN GA and looks how it is reflected in participation in military alliances during three periods of history since 1976 to this day. The authors illustrate the need to consider the network representation of co-sponsoring groups in General Assembly votes. They find significant support for their argument, indicating that social aspects can be extended beyond alliances. An application of social network analysis shows some unexpected affiliations in UN GA. If the UN GA is the "true" nature of these countries' alliance strategies, then it might suggest some significant defections and interesting association.

  • So far, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) has produced impressive results in speech recognition, computer vision, and natural language processing. AI/ML has recently begun to show promise as a viable means for improving the performance of 5G mobile telecommunication systems. This paper investigates standardization activities in 3GPP and O-RAN Alliance regarding AI/ML applications on mobile telecommunication system. Future trends in AI/ML technologies are also summarized. As an overarching technology in 6G, there appears to be no doubt that AI/ML could contribute to every part of mobile systems, including core, RAN, and air-interface, in terms of performance enhancement, automation, cost reduction, and energy consumption reduction.

  • Nowadays every part no company continues to gain the upper hand of a competitive superiority. Strategic Alliances between companies have been rapidly increased to preoccupy a market. The purpose of this study is to find devices of strategic alliances for the competitive distribution environment of Korean fashion industries. This reseach has been done by the literature review of the related articles, books, and the case studies in domestic markets as well as foreign ones. Strategic alliances are business relationships established by tow or more companies which cooperate out of mutual need and share risk in achieving a common objective. Today the purpose of international strategic alliances is to be competitive in global markets by meeting of exceeding new standards for products and technology use. Various types of alliances are occurred and this situation will be more common and generalized since one parter's weakness is offset by the other's strength. Strategic alliances are characterized by being horizontal, collaborative, and mutually beneficial to all parties. When used in good faith, the strengths gained in a strategic alliance are great. Therefore retailer should find that to gain faithful partners is important and should effort positively to enrich alliances based on a mutual belief. Finally, to become a company for leading the global market, it is necessary that we operate strategic alliances mixed foreign investments and domestic technology with local distributions.

사물인터넷 게이트웨이 간의 직접통신 서비스를 제공하기 위한 와이파이 다이렉트 P2P Standard Group Formation 구현 (Implementation of P2P Standard Group Formation in WiFi Direct for Direct Communication Services between Internet-of-Things Gateways)

  • 본 논문에서는 사물인터넷 게이트웨이 간의 직접통신 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 와이파이 다이렉트의 P2P Standard Group Formation(P2P-SGF)을 구현한다. 일반적으로 AP(Access Point)를 통해 사물인터넷 게이트웨이 간에 여러 센서들로부터 수집된 데이터와 더불어 대용량 데이터를 전송할 경우 네트워크 트래픽 혼잡 문제와 속도저하 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 AP를 거치지 않고 사물인터넷 게이트웨이 간에 직접통신으로 대용량 데이터를 효율적으로 전송할 수 있는 와이파이 다이렉트 구현이 필요하다. 논문에서 구현한 P2P-SGF는 기본적으로 Discovery, GO(Group Owner) Negotiation, WPS(WiFi Protected Setup) Provisioning, Address Configuration을 수행하며, 특히 대용량 데이터를 공유하기 위해 DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) 서비스 기능을 지원한다. 구현한 P2P-SGF를 통해 대용량의 동영상이 성공적으로 공유되는 것을 실험실 테스트로 확인하였다.

중소벤처기업의 SCM역량과 프로세스 개선이 운영성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of SCM Competency and Process Improvement on Operational Performance in Small and Venture Companies)

  • 본 연구는 중소벤처기업의 SCM(공급사슬관리)역량과 프로세스 개선이 운영성과에 미치는 영향력을 밝히는데 목적을 갖고 중소벤처제조기업 179개사를 대상으로 실증 분석하였다. 연구결과를 보면 중소벤처기업의 SCM역량이 프로세스 개선과 운영성과에 유의한 영향을 미쳐 가설은 모두 채택되었다. 또한, 중소벤처기업의 SCM역량이 운영성과에 미치는 영향에서 프로세스개선의 매개효과 또한 유의적인 영향을 미쳐 가설4도 채택되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 중소벤처기업의 SCM역량으로서의 전략적 제휴, 기술개발, 역량집중화 요인과 프로세스 개선 요인으로서의 착수 준비, 상세 계획, 실행 관리 요인이 운영성과 요인으로서의 품질성과, 원가절감, 수익증가에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 요인임을 실증해 주었다. 이는 중소벤처기업에서의 SCM을 도입하여 역량을 극대화시켜 프로세스를 보다 개선시키고 성과를 높이기 위해 중소벤처기업에 적합한 전략적 제휴와 기술 개발과 동시 역량집중화를 위한 선별적 투입전략이 요구됨을 의미한다. 따라서 이의 조기 적용과 정착을 위해 중소벤처기업 자체 내 업무 프로세스의 착수준비, 상세계획을 기획하여 뚜렷한 전사적 목표 관리하에 공동 실행에 옮김으로서 이들 속성에 비례한 엄격한 관리와 실행이 이어질 때 기대성과 또한 극대화 될 수 있음을 시사해준 것으로 평가할 수 있다.

지역 강소기업의 특성과 기술개발 방법 : 독일 강소기업과의 비교를 중심으로 (Characteristics and Technology Development Mode of Local Hidden Champions in Korea : How are they different?)

  • 독일의 강소기업에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 국내에서도 중앙정부나 지방자치단체를 중심으로 강소기업 육성을 위해 다양한 정책이 추진되고 있다. 그러나 국내 강소기업은 독일과는 상당히 다른 특성을 가지며, 연구와 정책개발을 위해서는 그 차이에 대한 이해가 선행되어야 할 것이다. 첫째, 전반적 특성과 전략적 행동 및 성과 측면에서 지역의 강소기업은 독일 기업에 비해 업력이 현저히 짧고 특정 분야에의 전문화 정도는 오히려 낮으며, 특히 원가경쟁력과 세계화 등의 측면에서는 약점을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기술개발 방법에 있어서, 독일의 강소기업은 자체 연구개발을 통한 기술개발과 경쟁력 확보에 초점을 두는 반면, 지역의 성공적 중소기업은 협력적 기술개발, 특히 기술제휴를 적극적으로 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로, 연구의 기여와 정책적 시사점에 대해 논의하고, 연구의 한계와 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

Immobilization of a Mediator onto Carbon Cloth Electrode and Employment of the Modified Electrode to an Electroenzymatic Bioreactor

  • 5,5'-Dithiobis(2-nitrobenzoic acid) (DTNB) was selected as an electron transfer mediator and was covalently immobilized onto high porosity carbon cloth to employ as a working electrode in an electrochemical $NAD^+$-regeneration process, which was coupled to an enzymatic reaction. The voltammetric behavior of DTNB attached to carbon cloth resembled that of DTNB in buffered aqueous solution, and the electrocatalytic anodic current grew continuously upon addition of NADH at different concentrations, indicating that DTNB is immobilized to carbon cloth effectively and the immobilized DTNB is active as a soluble one. The bioelectrocatalytic $NAD^+$ regeneration was coupled to the conversion of L-glutamate into ${\alpha}$-ketoglutarate by L-glutamate dehydrogenase within the same microreactor. The conversion at 3 mM monosodium glutamate was very rapid, up to 12 h, to result in 90%, and then slow up to 24 h, showing 94%, followed by slight decrease. Low conversion was shown when substrate concentration exceeding 4 mM was tested, suggesting that L-glutamate dehydrogenase is inhibited by ${\alpha}$-ketoglutarate. However, our electrochemical $NAD^+$ regeneration procedure looks advantageous over the enzymatic procedure using NADH oxidase, from the viewpoint of reaction time to completion.
