Study of the Rheological Properties of a Fermentation Broth of the Fungus Beauveria bassiana in a Bioreactor Under Different Hydrodynamic Conditions

  • Fermentation with filamentous fungi in a bioreactor is a complex dynamic process that is affected by flow conditions and the evolution of the rheological properties of the medium. These properties are mainly affected by the biomass concentration and the morphology of the fungus. In this work, the rheological properties of a fermentation with the fungus Beauveria bassiana under different hydrodynamic conditions were studied and the rheological behavior of this broth was simulated through a mixture of carboxymethyl cellulose sodium and cellulose fibers (CMCNa-SF). The bioreactor was a 10 L CSTR tank operated at different stir velocities. Rheological results were similar at 100 and 300 rpm for both systems. However, there was a significant increase in the viscosity accompanied by a change in the consistence index, calculated according to the power law model, for both systems at 800 rpm. The systems exhibited shear-thinning behavior at all stir velocities, which was determined with the power law model. The mixing time was observed to increase as the cellulose content in the system increased and, consequently, the efficiency of mixing diminished. These results are thought to be due to the rheological and morphological similarities of the two fungal systems. These results will help in the optimization of scale-up production of these fungi.

  • Science & Technology(S&T) is the most important thing to attain competitiveness in the 21st century, Our traditional S&T policies have been focused on hardware infra structure. we should consider software of S&T to enhance effectiveness. S&T should be had a correct understanding method of the creation for S&T culture. It implies that S&T policy in the 21st century should consider nonmaterial factors which include social, human, environmental and culture. Under this background, The purpose of this paper is to seek new S&T policy in the 21st century. Therefor this paper deals with how we can prepare for the future S&T policy and classify the change of S&T policy of Korea and analyze the characteristic of each phase. This paper argues that all actors (for example, S&T personnel, corporate using S&T, general public) should participate in the process of S&T innovation since the 21st century is the generation of the general public S&T. Also this paper presented the expanded S&T policy Right S&T policy could leads to diffuse right S&T culture. Diffusing S&T culture could accomplish expanded S&T policy which was considered phases of culture and welfare.

코렉스에서 파이넥스로: 포스코의 경로실현형 기술혁신 (From COREX to FINEX: The Case of Path-revealing Innovation in POSCO)

  • 이 논문에서는 탈(脫)추격형 기술혁신의 사례로 1990~2007년에 포스코가 용융환원법을 개발한 과정과 그 특정에 대해 분석하였다. 포스코는 차세대 혁신철강기술의 일환으로 용융환원법에 주목했으며, 푀스트와의 협력을 바탕으로 코렉스 공법을 상용화하는 데 성공하였다. 더 나아가 포스코는 분광석을 원료로 사용할 수 있는 파이넥스 공법을 개발하는 작업을 전개했으며, 그것은 모델 플랜트, 파일럿 플랜트, 데모 플랜트, 상용화 설비의 단계를 거쳤다. 포스코는 파이넥스 공법과 관련된 모든 영역의 기술을 개발 혹은 확보하는 데 성공함으로써 기존의 빠른 추종자를 넘어 기술혁신 선도자로 부상하고 있다. 포스코의 용융환원법 개발과정은 적절한 기술선택, 점진적 규모 확대, 나선형 기술개발방식, 상호보완적 기술협력, 과감한 연구개발투자, 중량급 프로젝트 매니저의 존재, 초기 단계의 정부 지원 등과 같은 특성을 보였다. 이러한 포스코의 용융환원법 사례는 기술패러다임 전환기에 이루어진 경로실현형 기술혁신(path-revealing innovation) 에 해당한다.

중국 성시 및 자치구 과학기술 예산활용 효율성 분석에 관한 연구 (An Efficiency Analysis of Science and Technology Budget in Provinces and Autonomous Regions in China)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중국 자치성별 과학기술 예산활용 효율성을 분석하고 개선방향을 제시하는 것이다. 중국교육부가 공시한 2013-2017년의 고등교육 통계연감에서 데이터를 확보하여, 맘퀴스트 분석방법을 활용해 투입대비 산출의 효율성을 분석하였다. 분석결과 기술 진보가 낮은 것은 생산성 MPI지수의 변동을 일으키는 원인이며, 기술적 효율성의 영향을 받은 도시는 효율성을 높이려면 지역 내 대학의 내부 조율, 구조조정 등 내부적 요인의 개선이 필요한 것으로 파악되었다. 기술변화의 영향을 받은 지역은 정부정책, 경제 환경, 사회 환경이나 기술의 발전 등 외적 요인에 대한 적절한 대응이 필요한 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구는 중국의 자치성별로 과학기술 예산활용 효율성을 제고하는 데에 참고자료를 제시하였다는데 의의가 있으며, 향후 비효율적인 지역의 효율성을 높이기 위한 전략의 수립 및 필수적인 요소에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

초연결시대 기술융합을 위한 사물 인터넷 기술의 특허동향 분석 (An IoT Patent Trend Analysis for Technological Convergence on Hyper Connected Society)

  • 사물인터넷은 오늘날 기술 주기에서 가장 널리 논의되고 있고 있는 기술적 개념이다. 이러한 기술은 우리가 어떻게 일을 하는지 뿐만 아니라 어떻게 사는지에 대한 급진적 변화를 예측할 수 있다. IoT의 개념은 기본적으로 데이터 네트워크를 통해 컨트롤 할 수 있는 연결된 장치의 웹을 의미한다. 이와 같은 장치들을 컨트롤하기 위해 요구되는 기술 비용과 스마트폰을 통한 인터넷의 연결의 증가로 IoT는 향후 10년 안에 모든 퍼베이시브 기술이 될 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문에서는 지식재산권(특허)의 관점에서 빠르게 성장하는 기술 도메인의 기술적 요소들을 살펴본다. IoT 기술의 특허 분포에서 전체 특허들의 5%가 상위 특허 출원인이고 나머지는 다수의 출원인이 차지하고 있다. 특히, 미국지역에 가장 많이 출원하고 있고, 이것은 한국과 일본의 큰 아시안 시장과 밀접한 관계가 있다.

  • While shifting from modern society to post-industrial society, social structure is changing from the period which pursues material affluence to that which pursues psychological abundance. Formation of various values along with pursuit of psychological abundance has made the illusion of standardization, massification, and popularization meaningless. Different from functionality oriented approach in the past, today's design requires diversified, multiple and integrated thinking and way in fast-changing social phenomena and stream, and lets human loose from the restriction of time and space thanks to technological development. It appears as new and various attempts along with paradigm shift of the wholle society, however the existing physical and actual things gradually transit to non-physical and non-actual things. Tendency of dematerialization has spread as far as esthetic and environmental genre on the basis of social and philosophical base along with change of consumption culture, and has displayed complex and de-genre aspect. Paradigm shift has expanded the range of communication by changing to user's independent awareness and sensitive concept, among them, light displays various changes of space by taking the role of new medium. Particularly, the light as the media expression beyond the phenomenon of light of traditional concept acts as an essential element to stimulate sensitivity and for experience as an immaterial element which shows this change of space most dramatically. This research aimed at recognizing space in complex dimension, exploring the relation between the light and space through media expression displayed in the realization of immateriality, expanding the meaning of light, and recognizing it as the possibility of creative and future-oriented light space creation which responds to technological development and social change.

보육 산업의 발달과 아동의 모성접촉으로부터의 소외 (A Study on the Technical Change and Maternal Touch in Child Care)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of changes in child care technology on mother-child contact by using all sorts of literature such as diaries, documents or statistical data. Child care technologies began to change during the 1960's. Diverse goods and services such as baby dry milk, paper diapers and child care centers have made child care easier and saved a great deal of time. This has also allowed women to participate in labor markets easily despite rearing children. But maternal contact with children have declined due to new goods and services and this trend is especially prevalent in early childhood. It could be supported that the convenience of rearing rather than the needs of children like as attachment to maternity primarily was considered in technological change. From this results it was suggested that we should develop the alternative child care technologies which better reflect children's needs.

Barriers to Realization of Forestry Mitigation Potential in India

  • Implementation of mitigation options on land is important for realisation of the goals of the Paris Agreement to stabilize temperature at $2^{\circ}C$. In India, the Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) targets include a forestry goal of creation of carbon sinks of 2.5 to 3 billion tonnes by 2030. There are however, multiple barriers to implementation of forestry mitigation options in India. They include environmental, social, financial, technological and institutional barriers. The barriers are varied not just across land categories but also for a land category depending on its regional location and distribution. In addition to these barriers is the impeding climate change that places at risk realisation of the mitigation potential as rising temperatures, drought, and fires associated with projected climate change may lead to forests becoming a weaker sink or a net carbon source before the end of the century.

  • This paper aims to link the basic structure of the revolution to skill needs and further to education, although there are risks of thin discussion in each domain. Many writings describe or analyze the job characteristics related to the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution without discussing the interlinkage of the revolution. It attempts to give better understanding the whole features of the revolution and further discuss about challenge for innovative HRD. It overviews the technological competition in the $4^{th}$ IR, the change of work with skills need and the new labor and the change of education focusing on new competence. After that, it brings the challenges for innovative HRD.
