The recent cyber attacks paralyzed several major banking services, broadcasters, and affected the services of a telecommunications provider. Media outlets classified the attack as cyber terror and named it an Advanced Persistant Threat. Although the attack significantly disrupted these services for at least one day, various components used in the attack were not new. Previous major cyber attacks towards targets in South Korea employed more advanced techniques thus causing greater damage. This paper studies the anatomy of the recent 2013.3.20 attack, studies the technical sophistication of the malware and attack vectors used compared with previous attacks.

Wireless network information services allow end systems to discover heterogeneous networks and spectrum available for secondary use at or near their current location, helping them to cope with increasing traffic and finite spectrum resources. We propose a unified architecture that allows end systems to find nearby base stations that are using either licensed, shared or unlicensed spectrum across multiple network operators. Our study evaluates the performance and scalability of spatial databases storing base station coverage area geometries. The measurement results indicate that the current spatial databases perform well even when the number of coverage areas is very large. A single logical spatial database would likely be able to satisfy the query load for a large national cellular network. We also observe that coarse geographic divisions can significantly improve query performance.

Demand for the highly efficient and high performance urban energy supply system having been continuously increased according to the rise of quality of life and continuously increased energy cost all over the world. The district heating and cooling system is very effective way for energy saving, cost reduction, and demand side management of energy. There are several district cooling supply technologies such as chilled water direct transportation, installation of absorption type chiller in the user side, and desiccant cooling. This study investigates the advantage and technical problems of each district cooling technology. Also, it is necessary political and financial support system for the extension of district cooling system.

본 연구는 최근 실용주의 입장에서 대학 및 그 부속기관들의 평가가 경제적 가치의 평가 문제로 다루어지고 있는 현상을 배경으로 하여 국내 대학도서관의 가치측정을 위한 기반 연구로써 대학도서관 서비스들 중 참고정보서비스와 기술서비스를 중심으로 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이들 서비스가 가지는 상이한 특성으로 인한 각 연구들의 측정접근 방법 및 절차와 결과의 다양성을 분석하기 위하여 대학도서관의 영향력이나 가치와 관련한 최근 문헌을 대상으로 사례 분석을 실시하였다. 또한 이를 통하여 대학도서관의 가치측정의 방향과 방법론적인 틀을 검토하고 이를 실질적으로 적용할 수 있는 측정모형 구축을 위한 기반을 제공하고자 하였다.

The union of broadcasting and telecommunication is developing by the rapid advance of communications technology and the digitalization of broadcasting. IPTV appears as a standard service of the union of broadcasting and telecommunication because it uses more extended broadband which enables people to watch TVs and uses various communication services at the same time. Therefore, I would like to study the structure of IPTV services, some technical issues for high-quality services and propose solutions.

With the development of mobile and wireless environments, the Ubiquitous era has com on the base of technologies of Semantic Web and Web Services. To accelerate proliferation of the E-Commerce in the Ubiquitous era, the importance of information search is emphasized more and more and its time to need more intelligent search for product and service which can consider location and other context-aware related information. As a starting point to meet these requirements, we proposed more effective product information search service framework through web services under semantic web environment. Over the wireless internet and we also examined its technical validity with the prototype system, implemented prototype and investigated the technological possibility.

The rapid growth of Korean SI(System Integration) Industries have established the largest marketplace in Korean software markets. In this thesis, we examine the development status of autonomous mobility services using various artificial intelligence algorithms and propose a solution by combining edge and cloud computing to overcome technical difficulties. A fully autonomous vehicle with enhanced safety and ethics can be implemented using the proposed solution. In addition, for the future of 2035, we present a new concept that enables two- and three-dimensional movement via cooperation between ecofriendly, low-noise, and modular fully autonomous vehicles. The zero-error autonomous driving system will safely and conveniently transport people, goods, and services without time and space constraints and contribute to the autonomous mobility services that are free from movement in connection with various mobility.

Physical rehabilitation consists of exercises that help individuals who have suffered injury, disease, or nervous system disorders to recover lost or impaired functions. The exercises need to be tailored to the degree and type of the patient's condition. To this end, a comprehensive rehabilitation data delivery system that connects medical institutions and local communities should be established, and an intelligent rehabilitation service technology should be developed. An intelligent rehabilitation service integrates and manages the patient's health information provided by medical institutions and the overall function evaluation information measured in the community. Based on the collected data, personalized rehabilitation services can be provided. We examine supportive policies and technological trends for rehabilitation exercise and sports. Additionally, we investigate development trends and key technologies of intelligent rehabilitation services being developed at ETRI.

This paper analyzes metadata workflow from creation to browsing, and discusses metadata authoring and browsing technology. Unlike usual multimedia authoring, broadcast metadata authoring means metadata editing synchronized with video. In order to make practical application of other systems, the result is in XML or MXF(Material eXchange Format) based on common metadata scheme. The MXF Browser developed with the consideration of broadcast metadata that is time-synchronized with AV content provides not only metadata authoring capability but also advanced content browsing services such as summary playback and highlight browsing based on metadata multi-track.
