Taxi's queue for entering into taxi stand makes traffic jam and congestion around taxi stand. If we make that taxi waits in another place around taxi stand, and can approach to taxi stand when it gets in its turn, these traffic jam and congestion around taxi stand can be reduced. In this paper, we propose entry sequence operating system for taxi stand to reduce traffic jam and congestion around taxi stand. In this system, taxi driver can request his sequence number, and the system issues sequence number to driver. When it is time to approach to taxi stand due to issued sequence number, the proposed system notifies to taxi driver via taxi terminal. Taxi getting the proposed service can wait in another place around taxi stand, and can approach to taxi stand after receiving notify for approaching. Therefore, the proposed system in this paper can reduce traffic jam and congestion around taxi stand because it can reduce or get rid of taxi's queue around taxi stand. We implement the taxi stand approach sequence management system proposed in this paper for taxi stand installed in Chungju-Si, Chungbuk. We use Google Cloud service and Android platform for implementing.
Taxi is one of the representative transpotation method in Korea. This is the study on the method of taxi fare calculation. So this study tries to find out the resonable method of taxi fare calculation. Many research institutes have tried to find out good method of taxi fare calculation. Until now, there has not been any standard method of taxi fare calculation. So the purpose of this study is to provide the best method of taxi fare calculation. This is the example of the method of taxi fare calculation. Both studies of related literature and empirical investigation have been reviewed to accomplish the purpose of this study.
In this paper, we implement the taxi telematics service system based on location based service(LBS). The system implementation is composed of 3 major parts : the mobile device with which a user requests taxi calls, the taxi client which resides inside a taxi and supports multimedia environments with navigation function, and the server which manages moving taxies and receives user taxi calls. From the mobile device's GPS information, the server finds the closest taxi which is then sent to the user with the mobile device.

Objectives: Taxi drivers are exposed to various hazards, such as long periods of sedentary work and traffic-related air pollutants. However, studies on the health effects among taxi drivers in South Korea are insufficient. Methods: To assess subclinical hematologic change related to cardiovascular disease among male taxi drivers, we analyzed data from the second Korean National Environmental Health Survey. Fifty-nine taxi drivers and 1,912 controls were included in the analysis. Propensity score matching was performed to adjust for age, body mass index, and urinary cotinine. A total of 295 subjects were matched with 59 taxi drivers. Leukocyte count, platelet count, hematocrit, triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol land total IgE of the taxi drivers were compared with the control groups. Results: Taxi drivers showed significantly elevated blood leukocytes and platelets. Serum total IgE was significantly reduced in taxi drivers. However, blood leukocytes, platelets, and serum total IgE were not significantly correlated with work period among taxi drivers. Conclusions: Regarding the change of the blood leukocyte count, platelet count, and serum total IgE, taxi driving has the possibility to be associated with peripheral inflammation, humoral immunity and cardiovascular risk.

Taxi, one of the passenger services, is an essential transportation system in our society. In spite of the importance of taxi service, deterioration of the service quality is continuously reported. In particular, taxi service failures due to traffic accidents have emerged as the most serious social problem which may incur a considerable amount of social costs. In this study, we focus on analyzing the causes of service quality deterioration-traffic accidents of both corporately owned and privately owned taxies in Seoul. The research objective is to find out the determinants of service quality deterioration of Taxi industry and to suggest policies for improving the taxi service in Seoul. We collected the archival data from KTSA (Korea Transportation Safety Authority) and ODP (Open Data Portal), which span from 2005 to 2014. Hierarchical regression analyses and a set of mediation tests are conducted. The root factors inducing traffic accidents of taxies are divided into competitive, and profitability factors. The statistical results indicate that the accident ratio per taxi is not only affected by competitive/profitability factors such as number of active taxi drivers, number of bus passengers, and taxi fare, but also mediated by the traffic violation ratio. To alleviate the current problems with taxi service in Seoul, we conclude that the number of taxies be reduced and the taxi fare be increased. Finally, we suggest several policies to improve the endemic taxi industry problems, over-supply and the low profitability by enhancing the linkage between service quality and profitability.

Estimation of the taxi-out and taxi-in times of aircraft on a airport surface is one of the essential features of Departure Manager (DMAN). Especially for an airport with multiple runways and large ramp areas, estimation of the taxi-out and taxi-in times are mainly dependent on the taxi routes on airport surface. This paper described the method of automatic extraction of the the taxi routes using the ASDE track data and the Dijkstra algorithm based on the node-link model of a airport surface movements. In addition, we analyzed the ground operation status of Incheon International Airport using the extracted taxi routes.

In this paper, we established a prediction model of fuel consumption at the aircraft's taxi operation. To look for countermeasures to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, Airbus A380's actual ground taxi data was used. As a result, the number of stops or turnings during the taxi operation was not related to fuel consumption. It was confirmed that the amount of fuel consumption in the taxi operation was the taxi time and the thrust change. It can be confirmed that ground control optimization, which is the result of close cooperation between the control organization and the airline, is absolutely necessary to reduce taxi time and minimize the occurrence of thrust change events.

The mobility model is one of the most important factors that impacts the evaluation of any transportation vehicular networking protocols via simulations. However, to obtain a realistic mobility model in the dynamic urban environment is a very challenging task. Several studies extract mobility models from large-scale real data sets (mostly taxi GPS data) in recent years, but they do not consider the statuses of taxi, which is an important factor affected taxi's mobility. In this paper, we discover three simple observations related to the taxi statuses via mining of real taxi trajectories: (1) the behavior of taxi will be influenced by the statuses, (2) the macroscopic movement is related with different geographic features in corresponding status, and (3) the taxi load/drop events are varied with time period. Based on these three observations, a novel taxi mobility model (T-START) is proposed with respect to taxi statuses, geographic region and time period. The simulation results illustrate that proposed mobility model has a good approximation with reality in trajectory samples and distribution of nodes in four typical time periods.
Mobile application is growing explosively with the advent of a new technology: smartphones. Mobile application is a new marketing channel and performs as a start-up platform. This study examines the effect of mobile application on the off-line market. Despite the continuous declining demand for taxi service, paradoxically, the supply of taxi service has increased. The taxi industry can be categorized into general taxi and call taxi. General taxi is accidental and inefficient because it has to search for its own passenger. As call taxi takes the request of a passenger, it is more efficient than general taxi. However, the current defective passenger-taxi driver matching system and insufficient taxi driver management hinder the development of the call taxi market. Differences in differences (DID) is an econometrical methodology that examines whether or not an event has meaningful influence. This research uses DID to investigate the effect of the Kakao taxi application on the call taxi industry. Furthermore, it examines the effect of major companies' reckless diversification, which is considered unethical behavior. The passengers of call taxi data from August 2014 to July 2015 and those of designated driving service data of the same period were collected as the control group.
In this paper, we analyze the optimum moving speed of taxi for maximum revenue. In the analysis, we vary taxi speed from 5km/h through 80km/h to see how revenue of a taxi varies applying the practical gas mileage of LPG taxi and taxi fare system in Korea. From the results of the analysis, we see that the probability that a taxi meets passengers goes high as taxi speed gets fast, however the fuel cost also goes up. We also obtain the optimum speed for the maximum revenue according to passenger distribution while varing moving speed.
