  • The 'Environmental Psychology and Behavior Studies' which started from the purpose of "Building the comfortable environment for people", is one of the most essential research area in architecture and intoner design field because of the basis of humanbeing matters. As the development of science and industries, the social circumstances have been more complicated and diversified. As a result, humanbeing require much humanized and high level of quality in space design as well as environmental design. In case of domestic research situation, the research of environmental psychology and behavior studies in architecture and interior design fields, haven't been applied fully in their potential abilities due to the shortage of research history, complexity of humanbeing researches and the vagueness of studies as a major fields. Thus, my purpose of studying is to analizing the previous research tendencies focus on the domestic thesis since 1980 to 2006 from the related research Institutes. Final findings are as follows ; 1. Steadily increasing tile interest ratio of the research field of environmental psychology and behavior studies 2. Concentration of research target spaces are higher from the residential > elderly facilities > educational > and medical spaces. 3. The preference of research theme showed the environmental psychology fundamentals > behavior studies > general studies of environmental psychology > emotional engineering > human factors engineering. 4. Results of crossing analysis ; 1)Residential spaces were the main spaces for main research theme. 2)Main theme used in target spaces were 'environmental psychology fundamentals' and "behavior studies'. 3)Main research methods for the most target spaces were 'sample research' methods.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to investigate the factors influencing health behavior. Method: Data used in this study was drawn from a 2001 National Health survey done by Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. Number of samples were 5,085 people between age 20 years and 69 years in whole country. In this study, we modified Green and Kreuter's Precede-Proceed model to analyse influence of factors in health behavior, Hierarchical regression were used in the analysis. Result: 1) Factors that had statistically significant positive relation with overall health behavior were age, educational level, income level, disease in the family, medical examination, subjective weight, and concern about health, 2) Factors that had statistically significant negative relation with overall health behavior were sex, subjective health, stress, and degree of physical activity. Conclusion: 1) It would be necessary to set the target group for the health promotion in advance. 2) It was very important to adopt easy and efficient methods to change the health behavior of target group, for example, ability to control stress.

  • The purpose of this study was to 1) explore the effectiveness of a college-level self-management (SM) course in improving a target behavior and reducing impulsivity, 2) investigate improvements in other non-target self-control behaviors(generalization of self-control), and 3) determine whether change in impulsivity could predict the generalization of self-control. A total of 128 College students who took the SM course were included. Participants completed the computerized delay-discounting task, self-report impulsiveness scale, and general self-control behavior questionnaire at the beginning and end of the course. After participants had defined their target behaviors, they self-monitored and recorded their behaviors everyday throughout the course. Results revealed that 63% of the participants successfully changed their target behaviors after the course. Although differing depending on the type of target behavior, thoes who successfully changed their target behaviors reported decreases in impulsivity and increases in other self-control behaviors such as physical exercise, healthy diet, study habits, and time management, after the course. Furthermore, the decrease of impulsivity significantly predicted the generalization of self-control in the exercise and diet groups. The results indicate that reduced impulsivity is related to improvements in a target behavior and general self-control behaviors in other spheres. Implications and limitations are also discussed.

  • Fashion store patronage behavior includes, in broad, choosing of a store and strong preference of a certain store called store-royalty. Thus, in order to achieve successful business in sales, a retailer must continually analyze why target consumers choose particular stores and patronize them. This study identified the relevant factors of the patronage behavior of female college students residing in Seoul. Thus, this study can achieve its goal of enabling retailers to predict use information sources used by the target consumers, so that help retailer to establish new positions of their shops to differentiate them from others and, also, to reposition existing stores. The aims of this study were to classify information sources used by female college students and identify the relationships between them and fashion store patronage behavior. Relationship between the factors of information sources and patronage behavior were identified by use of Tukey's test, Duncan test and ANOVA. As a result, it showed significant differences among patronage groups according to nearly every factor of information sources used by female college students. As based on the results, this study is expected to assist that retailers can establish effective sale strategies in order to make continuously consumers' patronage behavior of a store.

  • A skill is defined as the special ability to do something well, especially as acquired by learning and practice. To learn a skill, a Bayesian network model for representing the skill is first learned. We will regard the Bayesian network for a skill as an affordance. We propose a soft Behavior Motivation(BM) switch as a method for ordering affordances to accomplish a task. Then, a skill is constructed as a combination of an affordance and a soft BM switch. To demonstrate the validity of our proposed method, some experiments were performed with GENIBO(Pet robot) performing a task using skills of Search-a-target-object, Approach-a-target-object, Push-up-in front of -a-target-object.

  • Real-time monitoring of the behavior of reinforced soil retaining wall (RSW) is required for safety checks. In this study, a targetless displacement measurement technology (TDMT) consisting of an image registration module and a displacement calculation module was proposed to monitor the behavior of RSW, in which facing displacement and settlement typically occur. Laboratory and field experiments were conducted to compare the measuring performance of natural target (NT) with the performance of artificial target (AT). Feature count- and location-based performance metrics and displacement calculation performance were analyzed to determine their correlations. The results of laboratory and field experiments showed that the feature location-based performance metric was more relevant to the displacement calculation performance than the feature count-based performance metric. The mean relative errors of the TDMT were less than 1.69 % and 5.50 % for the laboratory and field experiments, respectively. The proposed TDMT can accurately monitor the behavior of RSW for real-time safety checks.

  • Ti-silicide was formed by using metal-Ti target and composite target on the silicon substrate that $BF_2$ were introduced into. Implant energies of $BF_2$ were 50keV and 90keV. The behavior of boron was investigated by SIMS. The redistribution of boron occurred during the formation of Ti-silicide by metal-Ti target and the sample implanted at the energy of 50keV showed severe out-diffusion. In the case that Ti-silicide was formed by composite target, there was little redistribution of boron.

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine relative effects on safety behaviors between global feedback and specific feedback at a construction site. Participants were 30 full-time workers at a construction site. Five safety related behaviors were identified as critical behaviors. An ABCB within-group design was adopted. After baseline (A), participants received global feedback on their average percentage of all five target safety behaviors (B). In the next phase, participants received specific feedback on the percentages of individual target behaviors (C). In the final phase, the global feedback condition was reintroduced (B). Results showed that both global feedback and specific feedback were effective in increasing the frequencies of safety behaviors and there were no differences in the effectiveness between the two types of feedbacks.

  • With the rapid growth in Internet users, web applications are becoming the main target of hackers. Most previous WAFs (Web Application Firewalls) target every single HTTP request packet rather than the overall behavior of the attacker, and are known to be difficult to detect new types of attacks. In this paper, we propose a web attack detection system based on user behavior using machine learning to detect attacks of unknown patterns. In order to define user behavior, we focus on features excluding areas where an attacker can camouflage as a normal user. The experimental results shows that by using the path and query information to define users' behaviors, best results for an accuracy of 99% with Decision forest.

  • The term "social marketing" was first introduced in 1971 to describe the use of marketing principles and techniques to advance a social cause, idea, or behavior. Social Marketing is a strategy for changing behavior. It utilizes concepts of market segmentation, consumer research, product concept development and testing, directed communication, facilitation, incentives, and exchange theory to maximize the target adopters' response. Social marketing requires knowledge of each target-adopter group, including its 1. social demographic characteristics, 2. psychological profile and 3. behavioral characteristics. To know the target adopters in these three related ways enables social marketer to make more accurate predictions. In addition to differentiating among and selecting target adopter groups, the social marketer will identify influence-holding groups, or influentials, who can affect a program's success. Great changes and opportunities exist to produce changes in the ways that individuals and groups think and behave and in meeting human needs. The balance of the scales of social change, we hope, will shift away from the use of force and violence to the use of persuasion and voluntary action. I trust that this dissertation will be useful highlighting the strategies and means of peaceful, planned social change designed to elevate the quality of life.
