Purpose: This study aims to develop new markers based on silicone rubber and urethane rubber to enhance visibility in low magnetic field magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Methods: Four types of markers were fabricated using two different base materials. Two of the markers were composed of two different types of silicone rubber: DragonSkin™ 10 MEDIUM and BodyDouble™ SILK. The other two markers were composed of types of urethane rubber: PMC™ 780 DRY and VytaFlex™ 20. Silicone oil (KF-96 1000cs) was added to the fabricated markers. The allocated amount of oil was 20% of the weight (wt%) of each respective marker. The MR images of the markers, with and without the silicone oil, were acquired using MRIdian with a low magnetic field of 0.35 T. The signal intensities of each MR image for the markers were analyzed using ImageJ software and the visibility for each was compared. Results: The highest signal intensity was observed in VytaFlex™ 20 (279.67±3.57). Large differences in the signal intensities (e.g., 627% in relative difference between BodyDouble™ SILK and VytaFlex™ 20) among the markers were observed. However, the maximum difference between the signal intensities of the markers with the silicone oil showed only a 62% relative difference between PMC™ 780 DRY and DragonSkin™ 10 MEDIUM. An increase in the signal intensity of the markers with the silicone oil was observed in all markers. Conclusions: New markers were successfully fabricated. Among the markers, DragonSkin™ 10 MEDIUM with silicone oil showed the highest MR signal intensity.
A structure in which GaAs and AlGaAs epilayers are formed with a metal organic chemical vapor deposition equipment on a GaAs wafer similar to the structure of making a vertical cavity surface emitting laser is used. Photonic Quantum Ring (PQR) devices that are naturally generated by 3D resonance are manufactured by chemically assisted ion beam etching technology, which is a dry etching method. A new technology that can be fabricated has been studied, and as a result, the possibility of wet etching of a solution containing phosphoric acid, hydrogen peroxide and methanol was investigated, and the device fabrication by applying this method are also discussed. In addition, the spectrum of the fabricated optical device was measured, and the results were theoretically analyzed and compared with the wavelength value obtained by the measurement. It is expected that the PQR device will be able to model cells in a three-dimensional shape or be applied to the display field.
Purpose: The evaluation of SUV (Standardized Uptake Values) for quantitative analysis in PET exam is the most significant. In PET exam, we make attenuation correction images by using $^{68}Ge$, $^{137}Cs$ or CT data. At this time, a distorted attenuation map affects quantitative analysis. After the exam using barium-sulfate and high density of barium contrast make attenuation map distorted. And then it brings bed influences on SUV. The aim of this study is to verify the relationship between high density barium-sulfate and SUV in PET exam. Materials and Methods By using $^{18}F$-FDG, we made barium-sulfate powder, density of 0, 1.5, 3, 5, 10 and 15% respectively and acquired PET and PET/CT images per each density. And we examined SUV variations from PET and PET/CT images according to differences of barium's density. Moreover, we finally calculated SUV causing variations in HU (Hounsfield Units) values to justify whether the differences of barium density bring any changes in PET/CT exam. Results: From PET images acquired from transmission scan with $^{68}Ge$, we got SUV figures from 6.46 to 6.8 in barium density between 0 to 15 percent. On the other hand, In PET images acquired from Tx scan that using CT, SUV was 6.77 to 23.73, derived from the same barium density. And CT HU values range from 29 to 2004. Conclusion: PET images from Tx data using $^{68}Ge$ weren't affected by barium density and had no differences in SUV. But in the PET/CT images using CT Tx data, there's considerable variations in HU and SUV values according to a difference of barium density in HU values. To perform a precise examination, barium sulfate should be removed from a human body before performing a PET exam.
The purpose of this study examine to identify the mediating Organizational citizenship behavior in the relation Authentic leadership and Organizational support. Data were collected by self-report questionnaires targeting 229 caregiver in Daegu city and Gyeongsangbuk-do city. Data were analyzed with SPSS/PC ver. 21.0 programs. There were significantly positive correlations between toward the Organizational citizenship behavior, Authentic leadership and Organizational. As a result of analyzing the main factors the level of care performance for authentic leadership and Organizational support to be significant explanatory variables and this model's explanatory power was 50.0%. Therefore, it is necessary required to improve the Organizational support and leader's authentic leadership for the nursing work performance.
The purpose of study is to investigate the load resistance mechanism of MRS continuous joint designed with different details. Six full-scale specimens, which could simulate the negative moment region of the 8 m long MRS system, were prepared to evaluate the structural performance of the continuous joint. According to the experimental results, all specimens which include the specimen with dapped ends designed by loads at the construction stage were failed in a flexural manner and showed the load carrying capacity over the nominal flexural strength. Therefore it is recommended that the dapped ends for MRS continuous joints be designed for the loads of the construction stage. And the shear key, which was installed on the top of rib for MRS slab, helps the enhancement of strength and especially deformation capacity.
Our experiment studied that grafted stem cells reduced behavioral deficiency in rodent animal models of clip compressive surgery inducing spinal cord infarction. Our research proved the effect of embryonic stem cells to the spinal cord infarction caused by compressing T9-10 with an aneurysm clip, focusing the application of grafted stem cells for reduction of infarction and regeneration of spinal cord nervous injury. Therefore, our research suggests manifest results that implantation of mouse embryonic stem cell could show behavioral improvement after severe spinal cord damage. Therefore, mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC) could be useful application for the method in neurological injury. Conclusively, stem cell implant therapy may enhance the effectiveness of stem cell implant for central nervous system injury.
The purpose of this study is to compare students' perception shaped by two different university classrooms: Traditional Classroom and ALC(Active learning classroom). We conducted survey of 71 university students who were taught by an identical instructor using same pedagogy. The survey questionnaires asked respondents about their perceptions on teaching and learning and physical environments relations, teaching proficiency, social context, student satisfaction and immersion. The data was analyzed using Student's T-test. The results showed that ALC group, compared to the traditional classroom group, demonstrated statistically higher awareness on teaching and learning and physical environments relations, teaching proficiency, and instructor-student unofficial relations. Based on these findings, implications and limitations of this study were discussed.

Although nuclear factor of activated T cell (NFAT) plays a key role in inflammation, its anti-inflammatory effects and mechanism of action in periodontitis are still unknown. This study aimed to identify the effects of NFAT on the proinflammatory mediators activated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) plus nicotine stimulation in human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs). The production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin $E_2(PGE_2)$ was evaluated using Griess reagent and an enzyme immunoassay, respectively. The expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and NFAT proteins was evaluated by Western blot analysis. LPS plus nicotine synergistically induced the production of NO and $PGE_2$ and increased the protein expression of iNOS, COX-2 and NFAT. Treatment with an NFAT inhibitor blocked the LPS plus nicotine-stimulated NO and $PGE_2$ release as well as the expression of iNOS and COX-2. Our data suggest that the LPS plus nicotine-induced inflammatory effects on hPDLCs may act through a novel mechanism involving the action of NFAT. Thus, NFAT may provide a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of periodontal disease associated with smoking and dental plaque.
