  • In this paper, the finite element method is applied to find the flux distribution of the magnetic field in the end region of the tubular motor. In order to analyze two-dimensional flux distribution, the r-z domain to be analyzed is subdivided into 56 nodes, 84 elements. In the case of wt=O and .pi./2, the flux distribution is shifted to the edge with frequency (w) and time (t) increase in the edge and the air gap. It is proved that this study does fit the actual phenomena.

  • The elliptic random field is an extension to the Gaussian random field. We proved a theorem which characterizes the elliptic random field. We proposed a heuristic approach to derive an approximation to the distribution of the size of one connected component of its excursion set above a high threshold. We used this approximation to approximate the distribution of the largest cluster size. We used simulation to compare the approximation with the exact distribution.

  • In this article, we compare the reliability and the hazard function between a baseline distribution and the corresponding transmuted-G distribution. Some examples based on existing transmuted-G distributions in literature are used. Three tests of parameter significance are utilized to test the importance of a transmuted-G distribution over the baseline distribution, and real data is used in an application of the inference about the importance of transmuted-G distributions.

  • Recently, the retail industry has created efficient store operations, and has differentiated customer service through the future store. The intelligence of these stores is being applied by using technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), and the business process is being improved through this. The process also focuses on efficient store operations and service developments to provide customers with shopping convenience. The change in trends in the industry means that domestic distribution has already reached maturity. Even in countries where retail industries are mature, such as the U.S. and Europe, recent trends are moving toward maximizing operational efficiency and customer service. The reason is that many retailers have already reached saturation and survived the competition. This paper is a study of a drive-through service for automation and efficiency in receiving service after ordering by a customer of the distribution store. When ordering a product being purchased by a customer, the product picking process is done in a timely fashion through a picking scheduling agent. When the customer enters the store parking lot, a service supports the entry of information and finding a parking place so the customer can quickly pick up the goods. The proposed service can be applied to a retail store drive-through system, the distribution store's delivery system, the digital picking system, and indoor/outdoor large parking management systems, and it is possible to provide one-dimensional customer service through the application of IoT technology.

  • The insurance market is saturated and its growth engine is exhausted; consequently, the insurance industry is now in a low growth period with insurance companies that face a fierce competitive environment. In such a situation, it will be an important issue to find the probability distributions that can explain the flow of insurance claims, which are the basis of the actuarial calculation of the insurance product. Insurance claims are generally known to be well fitted by lognormal distributions or Pareto distributions biased to the left with a thick tail. In recent years, skew normal distributions or skew t distributions have been considered reasonable distributions for describing insurance claims. Cooray and Ananda (2005) proposed a composite lognormal-Pareto distribution that has the advantages of both lognormal and Pareto distributions and they also showed the composite distribution has a higher fitness than single distributions. In this paper, we introduce new composite distributions based on skew normal distributions or skew t distributions and apply them to Danish fire insurance claim data and US indemnity loss data to compare their performance with the other composite distributions and single distributions.

  • Environmental baseline information is necessary in order to assess the potential environmental impact of future manganese-nodule mining on the deep-seabed ecosystem. Total ATP (T-ATP), dissolved ATP (D-ATP) and particulate ATP (P-ATP) were measured to estimate total microbial biomass and to elucidate their vertical distribution patterns in the seabed of KODOS (Korea Deep Ocean Study) area, northeast equatorial Pacific Ocean. Within the upper 6 cm depth of sediment, the concentrations of T-ATP, D-ATP and P-ATP ranged from 4.4 to 40.6, from 0.6 to 16.1, and from 3.0 to 29.2 ng/g dry sediment, respectively. Approximately 84% of T-ATP, 81% of D-ATP, and 74% of P-ATP were present within the topmost 2 cm depth of sediment, and the distributions of ATP were well correlated with water content in the sediment. These results indicate that the distribution of total microbial biomass was largely determined by the supply of organic matter from surface water column. Fine-scale vertical variations of ATP were detected within 1-cm thick veneer of the sediment samples collected by multiple corer, while no apparent vertical changes were observed in the box-cored samples. It is evident that the box-core samples were disturbed extensively during sampling, which suggests that the multiple corer is a more appropriate sampling gear for measuring fine-scale vertical distribution pattern of ATP within thin sediment veneer. Overall results suggest that the concentrations of ATP, given their clear changes in vertical distribution pattern within 6 cm depth of sediment, are a suitable environmental baseline parameter in evaluating the variations of benthic microbial biomass that are likely to be caused by deep-seabed mining operation.

  • The structures of the protoplanetary nebula have been examined under various conditions of the stellar wind and the mass distribution of the nebula by assuming that the nebula is steady and geometrically thick. T Tauri stars commonly accompany with disks as well as the stellar wind. Therefore, the nebula around T Tauri stars should be influenced by the stellar wind. The results are summarized as follows ; The height of the geometrical surface of the nebula is suppressed by the dynamical pressure of the wind but depends very weakly on the wind strength. The surface becomes higher slightly when the wind strength becomes weaker. Furthermore, the dependency of the nebular height on the mass distribution of the nebula is also weak. As a natural result of the above, the temperature distribution in the nebula is insensitive to the wind strength and the mass distribution of the nebula, too. Thus, we can conclude that the temperature and geometrical surface height of the nebula under the stellar wind does not depend on neither the wind properties nor the mass distribution of nebula.

  • The observed distribution of a blending-corrected sample of Einstein ring crossing times, $t_E$, for microlensing events toward the galactic bulge/bar are analyzed. An inspection of the distribution of crossing times suggests that it may be bimodal, indicating that two populations of lenses could be responsible for observed microlensing events. Given the possibility that microlensing in this direction can be due to the two most common classes of stars, main-sequence and white dwarf, we analyze and show via Monte Carlo simulations that the observed bimodality of $t_E$ can be derived from their accepted mass functions, and the density distributions of both stellar populations in the galactic disk and bulge/bar, with a transverse velocity distribution that is consistent with the density distribution. Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) one sample tests shows that a white dwarf population of about 25% of all stars in the galaxy agrees well with the observed bimodality with a KS significance level greater than 97%. This is an expanded and updated version of a previous investigation (Wickramasinghe, Neusima, & Struble, in Mao 2008). • The purpose of this paper is to suggest strategies for Korean companies to overcome the limitation of the international trade structure between Korea and Vietnam. This study examined foreign multinational distribution companies, Korean distribution companies and domestic distribution companies in Vietnam. A SWOT analysis conducted to propose effective strategies revealed that Saigon Mart, Vietnam's largest regional mart company, needs an O/W strategy and to capture market opportunities quickly through strategic alliances with foreign distribution companies, in order to gradually complement their core competencies internally. Lotte mart in Vietnam, one of Korea's three largest marts, needs to establish a T/S strategy in order to overcome the crisis situation in Vietnam market and succeed in business. BIG C Mart has over 40,000 diverse products needs to use a T/S strategy in order to effectively overcome the crisis situation in the Vietnamese market and to increase the possibility of business success. From the study findings and conclusions, various implications are derived. Vietnam is still very strong in socialism and regional characteristics, so it needs to build up close cooperation such as joint venture with local partners in the region and strategic alliances to increase the possibility of investment success.

  • In hospitals and pharmacies, the distribution of medicines is an important part. Any mistakes, misses, fake medicines and expired medicines can cause medical accidents. With the widespread application of the Internet of Things technology (IoT), traditional drug distribution methods need to be upgraded. This article proposes a drug distribution management scheme based on the Internet of Things technology. In the production of drugs, a flexible RFID tag was printed on the packaging box, which stored a series of information such as drug name, dosage, raw materials, efficacy, production date, expiration date, and manufacturer. The use of a drug distribution management system combined with RFID readers can identify drug information and effectively prevent the occurrence of erroneous, missed, counterfeit, and expired drugs. It can also improve management efficiency, reduce management costs, and control management risks. Through the circuit design and software system development, the test results show that this solution is effective and feasible, the proposed method can achieve the expected results.
