Feasibility Analysis of a Wood Bioenergy System in an Apartment Complex (목질계 바이오에너지 시스템의 공동주택 적용성 평가)

  • This study compared the feasibility of utilizing a wood bioenergy system over a conventional central heating and cooling system and a cogeneration system in an apartment complex. The performance of the three systems were compared in the following areas: energy consumption, environmental impact(output of CO2, CH4, and N2O), and life cycle cost. The results showed that energy performance of the wood bioenergy system was similar to the conventional central system (just a 1% improvement) but the cogeneration system showed a 12% reduction in energy consumption compared to the conventional system. In terms of environmental impact, the bioenergy system reduced pollutants by 50% while the cogeneration system reduced pollutants by 30% compared to the conventional system. Life cycle cost analysis indicated bioenergy and cogeneration to have an 8% and 19% improvement over the conventional system. The findings of the study suggest that it is both economically and environmentally beneficial to use a wood bioenergy system in place of a conventional central heating and cooling system in apartment complexes.

  • Dynamic characteristic of CD/DVD deck for vehicle is analyzed in this paper. Generally CD/DVD deck for vehicle is used from inferior environment with the vibration of the vehicle and shock of outside and so on. Therefore it must have the structure which is stabilized from the vibration to prevent read error. For this purpose, vibration characteristic of the deck for vehicle should be identified. To analyze characteristic of the deck system, we perform the signal analysis and modal testing using the FFT analyzer. Also we change the design factor degrading the performance of the deck system and verify the efficiency improvement using the acceleration measurement occurring to the sound discontinuation.

  • In this paper, the performance improvement and modeling of small onboard generator were described. As the characteristics of the field coil which are a major parameters of generator were improved, the system bandwidth could be increased, therefore the generator could also be satisfied with fast characteristic loads. Established the brief control model of the generator, it could be possible to do the analysis of generator performance, and improve the operational stability of the generator system using the control model.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of the start-ups' quality management system implementation on differentiated competitive advantage and management performance, and to verify the effect of the moderating effect of company size between the quality management system implementation and differentiated competitive advantage. A questionnaire was conducted for start-ups and 259 samples were analyzed using SmartPLS 2.0. First, it was found that leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement have a positive effect on differentiated competitive advantage, and contexts of organization does not have a positive effect. Second, differentiated competitive advantage has a positive effect on financial and non-financial performance. Third, company size has a moderating effect in the relationship between leadership, support, operation, improvement and competitive advantage. The results of the study can be interpreted that the quality management system improves the quality of start-ups and has a positive effect on management performance. In addition, it implies that the organizational situation and the size of the company should be considered when implementing the quality management system.

Decision Feedback Equalizer Based on LDPC Code for Fast Processing and Performance Improvement (고속 처리와 성능 향상을 위한 LDPC 코드 기반 결정 궤환 등화기)

  • In this paper, we propose a decision feedback equalizer based on LDPC(Low Density Parity Check) code for the fast processing and performance improvement in OFDM system. LDPC code has good error correcting capability and its performance approaches the Shannon capacity limit. However, it has longer parity check matrix and needs more iteration numbers. In our proposed system, MSE(Mean Square Error) of signal between decision device and decoder is fed back to equalizer. This proposed system can improve BER performance because it corrects estimated channel response more accurately. In addition, the proposed system can reduce complexity because it has a lower number of iterations than system without feedback at the same performance. Simulation results evaluate and show the performance of OFDM system with the CFO and phase noise in multipath channel.

Performance Analysis of MC DS-CDMA System using Turbo Code in Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel (다중경로 레일리 페이딩 채널에서 Turbo 부호를 적용한 MC DS-CDMA 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyzed BER performance of the MC DS-CDMA system and evaluated the degree of performance improvement of the system caused by adopting turbo code recently receiving much attention due to its powerful coding capability. As a result of analysis, it was found that the MC DS-CDMA system without any powerful coding scheme can not serve voice quality $(BER : 10^{-3}$ regardless of the number of users and the value of $(BER : 10^{-3)$ in Rayleigh fading channel. On the other hand, it was found that the MC DS-CDMA system adopting turbo code for performance improvement, shows improved BER performance and can serve voice quality without regard to the number of users and the value of $(BER : 10^{-3)$ in the same channel. For example, when $(BER : 10^{-3)$ is l0dB and the number of users was 10, the MC DS-CDMA system adopting turbo code showed improved BER performance about $5\times10^{-3}$.

Improvement of Maneuvering Feeling of Human-Mechanical Cooperative System and Its Application to Electric Power Steering System

  • In human-mechanical cooperative systems, a significant issue is to improve the control performance and the maneuvering feeling of human operation. However, since it is not easy to evaluate the feeling of operators numerically, control engineers design controllers only through experience. Thus, in this paper, a new evaluation method for control performance of human-mechanical cooperative system is proposed based on the reserge waveform. Various distortions of waveform represent deteriorations of control performance and maneuvering feeling. In some cases, since there is a tradeoff between the control performance and the maneuvering feeling, it is difficult to compensate for both of them by usual feedback controllers. To overcome this situation, the two degrees of freedom control system is applied to human-mechanical cooperative system. Some numerical simulation results for an electric power steering system are shown to confirm the effectiveness of proposed control design method.

  • In this paper we studied for multi-user detection system, which hold the merit of CDMA system and can enhance the system capacity. We designed actually realizable quasi-optimal multiuser detection system by use of linear equalizer on the concept that multiuser detection algorithm can be reduced by combining TDMA with CDMA. we call this the hybrid TDMA/CDMA system. And we proposed multiuser detection system, which can use PSAD and MSDD channel estimation method. As a result of performance analysis we acquired equal or much better performance by use of linear multichannel equalizer in the case of not so many user. And on the occasion of many user within cell we can also acquired much better performance in comparison with conventional single user detection system by use of hybrid TDMA/CDMA system.

  • This paper focuses the performance improvement of the train radio system (TRS) supporting the safe and accurate operations. The causes of troubles and the performance drift in TRS have been analyzed and measurement indexes have been selected. Frequency shifts of transmitters causing from train vibrations have been shown, and the improvement of frequency stability has been confirmed by use of vibration- proof pads.
