SUN INTERFEREN PREDICTIONS FOR THE KOMPSAT TT&C STATION

  • The Sun interference event predictions for the KOMPSAT TT&C station were performed to analyze the frequency of the event and the impact on the TT&C link. The KOMPSAT orbit was propagated including only J2 geopotential term for maintaining the Sun-synchronism and no other perturbations were included. Local time of ascending node of the KOMPSAT satellite was set to 10h50m00s. The TT&C station was assumed to locate in Taejon and have 9 meter antenna for S-band link. One year of simulation from 1999/07/01 were performed out of 3 year of mission lifetime of KOMPSAT satellite. Total four times of Sun interference events were occurred during 1 year of simulation and those lasted about 50 seconds altogether. The C/N degradation of the TT&C system was calculated about 4dB. The Sun interference event of 50 seconds of year are 0.0076 percents of the S-band contact time when the 30 minute of contact time is assumed in a day.

  • 전력이나 유선망 등의 기반시설 없이 임의의 장소에서 필요에 의해 일시적으로 구성되었다가 해체한 수 있는 네트워크 형태의 필요성이 대두됨에 따라 Ad-hoc 네트워크에 관한 여러 가지 연구가 진행되고 있다. Ad-Hoc 네트워크에서는 기존의 유선 네트워크 망에서와는 달리 게이트웨이나 라우터 등의 도움 없이 모바일 기기들 간의 통신이 가능해야 한다. 이러한 임의성과 휴대성, 그리고 이동성 때문에 야기되는 여러 가지 문제들을 해결해야,안정적이고 효율적인 통신을 보장할 수 있다. Ad-hoc 네트워크에서는 대부분의 경우 배터리가 에너지원인 모바일 기기들을 사용하므로 효율적인 에너지 자원 관리가 중요한 고려대상이 된다. 본 논문에서는 Ad-hoc 네트워크의 시스템 활동시간을 최대화시키려는데 중점을둔 효율적인 라우팅방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 데이터 전송에 따른 에너지 소비뿐만 아니라 제어신호의 전송에 따른 에너지 소비를 함께 고려하였다.

LED 정전류 적응 제어 회로 설계 (Design of Adaptive Current Control Circuits for LEDs)

  • An effective way to ensure that LEDs produce wanted light output is to use a current driving topology, because the brightness of LEDs is directly related to their current. However, this topology may lead to the lifetime shortening of a illumination system because over-currents may flow through non-damaged LEDs in case some LEDs are damaged. This paper presents an adaptive current control circuits for LEDs, which protect LEDs in a good state by limiting the driving currents according to the number of damaged ones. The proposed control circuits consist of a simple constant-current driver and a micro-controller which monitors the voltage of LED array without any auxiliary current sensors for fault diagnosis. And the driving current is automatically controlled into 6-levels according to the number of failures.

Distributed Decision-Making in Wireless Sensor Networks for Online Structural Health Monitoring

  • In a wireless sensor network (WSN) setting, this paper presents a distributed decision-making framework and illustrates its application in an online structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The objective is to recover a damage severity vector, which identifies, localizes, and quantifies damages in a structure, via distributive and collaborative decision-making among wireless sensors. Observing the fact that damages are generally scarce in a structure, this paper develops a nonlinear 0-norm minimization formulation to recover the sparse damage severity vector, then relaxes it to a linear and distributively tractable one. An optimal algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) and a heuristic distributed linear programming (DLP) algorithm are proposed to estimate the damage severity vector distributively. By limiting sensors to exchange information among neighboring sensors, the distributed decision-making algorithms reduce communication costs, thus alleviate the channel interference and prolong the network lifetime. Simulation results in monitoring a steel frame structure prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

지열발전용 배관재(SUS316)의 부식특성 평가 (Evaluation of Corrosion Characteristics of Pipeline Material(SUS316) for the Geothermal Power Plant)

  • In the geothermal power, the geothermal fluid such as water or steam is moved from the ground to turbine a pipeline. Because the geothermal fluid with high temperature contains Cl-and SO4-, It cause to diminish the system lifetime due to the increase in the corrosion of pipeline. In the present work, the characteristics of corrosion and its fatigue of the sus316 which is used in the pipeline are evaluated experimentally. From this study, the following results can be obtained; for the case of the corrosion environment, it is found that the corrosion rate is faster than that of the steam environment by 10 to 30 times, and the corrosion fatigue limit is underestimated compared to that of steam state.

  • Sleeping is important activity in bedroom and it takes one third of our lifetime. The body pressure distribution on bed has been considered as one of the most important factors affecting sleeping comfort. The measurement contact pressure has been applied to design seat, mattress, shoes, etc., for prevention of pressure sores and improvement of products. This paper discusses the recognizing rule of sleeping posture using contact pressure. Subjects' ages are ranged from twenties to fifties. They include 29 males and 35 females. Body pressure distribution is measured in the state of stable bed when subject lies on his/her back, on his/her side and on his/her face. We made recognizing rules of sleeping posture through statistical analysis; ANOVA and regression analysis, qualitative analysis.

  • Kaplan & Norton introduce the BSC in early 1990s. after introducing the Balanced scorecard, The Balanced scorecard has been evolved in various function. In the various functional Balanced scorecard, this paper focuses on the logistics BSC, and the decision the weights of Key Performance Indicators. In this paper, a combination of Balanced scorecard and AHP-LTV based approach proposed multi-criteria provides a more accurate representation of the problem for measuring company.

  • As wireless sensor network are being deployed in a wide variety of application areas, the number of sensor nodes in a sensor filed becomes larger and larger. In the past, ISP (In-System Programming) method have been generally used for code update but the large number of sensor nodes requires a new code update method called network reprogramming. There are many challenging issues for network reprogramming since it can make an impact on the network lifetime. In this paper, a new sender selection scheme for network reprogramming protocol is proposed to decrease energy consumption for code update by minimizing overlapped area between sender nodes and reducing data contention. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can reduce the amount of message traffic and the overall data transmission time.

  • Wireless Sensor Network consists of several sensor nodes, these nodes loss some of their energy after the process of communication. So an energy efficient approach is required to improve the life of the network. In case of broadcast network, LEACH protocol uses an aggregative approach by creating cluster of nodes. Now the major concern is to built such clusters over WSN in an optimized way. This work presents the improvement over LEACH protocol. Hence we have different work environments where the network is having different capacities. The proposed work shows how the life time of the network will improve when the number of nodes varies within the network.

  • Energy constraints of wireless sensor networks are an important challenge. Data Transmission requires energy. Distance between origin and destination has an important role in energy consumption. In addition, the location of base station has a large impact on energy consumption and a specific method not proposed for it. In addition, a obtain model for location of base station proposed. Also a model for distributed clustering is presented by cluster heads. Eventually, a combination of discussed ideas is proposed to improve the energy consumption. The proposed ideas have been implemented over the LEACH-C protocol. Evaluation results show that the proposed methods have a better performance in energy consumption and lifetime of the network in comparison with similar methods.
