  • In this article, we give an example of local derivation, that is not derivation, on the algebra F(x1,…, xn) of rational functions in x1, …, xn over an infinite field F, and show that if X is a set of symbols and {x1,…, xn} is a finite subset of X, n$\geq$1, then each local derivation of F[x1,…, xn] into F[X] is a F-derivation and each local derivation of F[X] into itself is also a F-derivation.

  • Thomas Harriot(1560-1621) introduced a simplified notation for algebra. His fundamental research on the theory of equations was far ahead of that time. He invented certain symbols which are used today. Harriot treated all answers to solve equations equally whether positive or negative, real or imaginary. He did outstanding work on the solution of equations, recognizing negative roots and complex roots in a way that makes his solutions look like a present day solution. Since he published no mathematical work in his lifetime, his achievements were not recognized in mathematical history and mathematics education. In this paper, by comparing his works with Viete and Descartes those are mathematicians in the same age, I show his achievements in mathematics.

  • In this paper, we discovered a sufficient condition ensuring the weighted composition operators $C_{{\omega}_1,{\varphi}_1},{\cdots},C_{{\omega}_N,{\varphi}_N}$ were disjoint supercyclic on $H({\Omega})$ endowed with the compact open topology. Besides, we provided a condition on inducing symbols to guarantee the disjoint supercyclicity of non-constant adjoint multipliers $M^*_{{\varphi}_1},M^*_{{\varphi}_2},{\cdots},M^*_{{\varphi}_N}$ on a Hilbert space ${\mathcal{H}}$.

  • We study Toeplitz operators $T_{\nu}$ on generalized Fock spaces $F^2_{\phi}$ with a locally finite positive Borel measures ${\nu}$ as symbols. We characterize operator-theoretic properties (boundedness and compactness) of $T_{\nu}$ in terms of the Fock-Carleson measure and the Berezin transform ${\tilde{\nu}}$.

  • In this paper, we establish the boundedness of the m-linear Calderón-Zygmund operators on product of central Morrey spaces with variable exponent. The corresponding boundedness properties of their commutators with λ-central BMO symbols are also considered. Finally, we prove that the multilinear commutators of Calderón-Zygmund singular integrals introduced by Pérez and Trujillo-Gonález are bounded on central Morrey spaces with variable exponent. Our results improve and generalize some previous classical results to the variable exponent setting.

  • In this paper, we introduce Toeplitz operators and Hankel operators with complex Borel measures on the closed unit disk. When a positive measure 𝜇 on (-1, 1) is a Carleson measure, it is known that the corresponding Hankel matrix is bounded and vice versa. We show that for a positive measure 𝜇 on 𝔻, 𝜇 is a Carleson measure if and only if the Toeplitz operator with symbol 𝜇 is a densely defined bounded linear operator. We also study Hankel operators of Hilbert-Schmidt class.

  • We consider a special orthonormal basis for the Hardy space of the unit disc to compute the matrix representations of the composition operators with respect to the basis particulary associated to two symbols which are the inverse and the origin symmetry of the Riemann self map in the unit disc, and then we find a certain symmetry of the matrices.

  • Decimal fractions are the practical system of notations representing real numbers. The set of decimal fractions with the definition of comparison of decimal fractions and the identification of their double representations is essentially the field of real numbers. Therefore, we have to clarify the concept of decimal fractions. However, there are problematics that the aquisition of the concept of decimal fractions is not easy. In this paper, we attempt to eradicate the problematics relevant to the acquisition of decimal fractions discussed above and find the desirable direction of instruction of meaning for mathematical symbols: The case of decimal fractions. In J. Hiebert & decimal fractions. First of all, we clarify the essence of them - ratio, operator and linearity. And we compare and analyse the theories about decimal fractions of Resnick, Drexel, Brousseau and Hiebert and the contents of texts about decimal fractions in Korea. Finally, we suggest the efficient instruction methods which are faithful to the essence of decimal fractions and choose some methods among them to plan the classroom instruction and implement the methods in the classroom.

  • We study the Sobolev spaces to the generalized Sobolev spaces $H^s_{\mathcal{G}}$ of exponential type based on the Silva space $\mathcal{G}$ and investigate its properties such as imbedding theorem and structure theorem. In fact, the imbedding theorem says that for $s$ > 0 $u{\in}H^s_{\mathcal{G}}$ can be analytically continued to the set {$z{\in}\mathbb{C}^n{\mid}{\mid}Im\;z{\mid}$ < $s$}. Also, the structure theorem means that for $s$ > 0 $u{\in}H^{-s}_{\mathcal{G}}$ is of the form $$u={\sum_{\alpha}\frac{s^{{|\alpha|}}}{{\alpha}!}D^{\alpha}g{\alpha}$$ where $g{\alpha}$'s are square integrable functions for ${\alpha}{\in}\mathbb{N}^n_0$. Moreover, we introduce a classes of symbols of exponential type and its associated pseudo-differential operators of exponential type, which naturally act on the generalized Sobolev spaces of exponential type. Finally, a generalized Bessel potential is defined and its properties are investigated.

  • In this paper, we adapted the frame by Lee et al (2013) to investigate to what extent the Korean mathematics textbooks for the 7th graders adapt the principles of Yungbokhap education. The analysis suggests that the textbooks mostly adapt the competence to use language, symbols and texts interactively, and to use knowledge and information interactively. Among the competencies for interacting in heterogeneous groups, the textbooks included the competences to related well to others and to cooperatively work in teams. The competence for acting autonomously was least adapted in the textbooks. The most tasks in the textbooks adapted the monodisciplinary integration and the personal contexts for integration. The results of this research show that Korean mathematics textbooks are limited in implementing the principal dimensions of Yungbokhap education. In the future development of mathematics textbooks, it is necessary to consider how to further reflect the various dimensions of Yungbokhap education to promote students' creativity and autonomy in mathematics class.
