Digital Filter Design using the Symbol Pulse Invariant Transformation

  • In general, when IIR digital filter are designed from analog filters, the bilinera transformation and the impluse invariant tramsformation are commonly used. It is known, however, that high frequency response of digital filters designed by these transformations can not be well approximated to the sampled analog signals. In this paper, the symbol pulse invariant transformation is analyzed theoretically so that the symbol pulse invariant transformation which was originally application to a rectangular pulse is newly applied to double rate pulse signals and generic shape pulse signals. Also, the relation of spectra between a transfer function of digital filter and one of analog filter is considered. Further, we apply to design the digital high pass filters using the symbol pulse invariant transformation method.

  • This paper presents the application of a turbo coding technique combined with a bandwidth efficient method known as trellis-coded modulation. A transformation applied to the incoming I-channel and Q-channel symbols allows the use of an off-the-shelf binary/quadrature phase shift keying (B/QPSK) turbo decoder without any modifications. A conventional turbo decoder then operates on transformed symbols to estimate the coded bits. The uncoded bits are decoded based on the estimated coded bits and locations of the received symbols.

  • The aim of this study is to find out the symbol of clothing decorations in Elsa Schiaparalli's design works and there are four major points due to the aim of this study. Firstly, a fantasy is represented through Surrealistic Arts which creates mysterious, secrete, and surprising spirits. In Surrealistic Arts, the fashion of schiaparelli demonstrates a fantasy spirit by using the methods like metaphor, transformation, and re-positioning. Secondly, In Surrealistic paintings, normally double image or different image from symbol immanent were expressed. However, Elsa Schiaparelli used double and multi-image decorations instead that has well-organized formative effect. The mixture of double images can be separated as symbolic mixture, design mixture and expressive mixture. Thirdly, the body parts has represented symbolism and sensuality in Surrealism Arts. Elsa Schiaparelli has demonstrated the expression of modern clothing as passionate, desirable, and powerful. This is the reason why her designs were absolutely different from the previous sihouette-focused clothing. Fourth, there are lots of intentional decoration that are different from actual images, such as transformation, exaggeration, minimization and repettion, as well as, re-location, re-arrangement, line-up arrangement, collage and odd materials.

Generalization of the Spreading Function and Weyl Symbol for Time-Frequency Analysis of Linear Time-Varying Systems

  • We propose time-frequency (TF) tools for analyzing linear time-varying (LTV) systems and nonstationary random processes. Obtained warping the narrowband Weyl symbol (WS) and spreading function (SF), the new TF tools are useful for analyzing LTV systems and random processes characterized by generalized frequency shifts, This new Weyl symbol (WS) is useful in wideband signal analysis. We also propose WS an tools for analyzing systems which produce dispersive frequency shifts on the signal. We obtain these generalized, frequency-shift covariant WS by warping conventional, narrowband WS. Using the new, generalized WS, we provide a formulation for the Weyl correspondence for linear systems with instantaneous of linear signal transformation as weighted superpositions of non-linear frequency shifts on the signal. Application examples in signal and detection demonstrate the advantages of our new results.

  • 기존의 QPSK와 TC-8PSK 신호를 복호할 수 있는 pragmatic TCM은 3bit 연판정을 적용한 Viterbi 복호기를 이용하기 위해서 sector phase quantizer가 필요하다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해서 sector phase quantizer가 필요치 않고서 간단히 심볼 변환을 이용하여 연판정 출력이 가능한 새로운 알고리즘을 제안해서 이에 구조 및 성능을 분석하였으며 아울러 터보 부호에도 적용하였다. 성능 분석 결과, 기존의 pragmatic TCM에 비해 Euclidean 거리의 증가로 약 1[㏈]의 성능 향상을 가져옴을 알 수 있다.

The Symbol of Hùng Kings: From a Founding Myth to Modern National Belief

  • Using sociohistorical approaches, the paper shows that before the 15th century, myths of Hùng Kings, considered to be the descendants of the Dragon race and ancestors of the Vietnamese people, may have existed locally. Vietnamese rulers and people strongly supported the integration of these myths into indigenous culture to form a new belief: the worship of Hùng Kings. By way of discovering the transformation process from the founding myths to the modern national beliefs of the Vietnamese, this paper attempts to demonstrate that both myths and worship of Hùng Kings were politically created and encouraged. The article also focuses on the reasons why these myths and worship reached a broad public as these were integrated into Vietnamese culture.

  • In this paper, we designed a equalizer that moved the multipath of channel in 8-VSB transmission receiver. After doing the initial equalization with "LMS(Least Mean Square)"aigorithm. this equalizer used "Stop-and-Go" algorithm. Because of estimating SER(Symbol to Error Ratio) every a training sequence, this can positively cope with transformation of channel and because of using fast clock than symbol-clock(10.76 MHz), we are able to reduce a multiplier.

  • 뱀은 다양한 나라의 종교, 민담, 설화 등에 등장하는 대상으로, 고대부터 인간정신과 문화에 지대한 영향을 미쳐왔다. 본 연구에서는 뱀의 생태 중 허물을 벗는 점에 집중하여 이와 관련한 상징을 다루었다. 뱀은 허물을 벗는 과정에서 어려움과 고통을 딛고 성장하며, 죽음을 벗어나 새로운 생명을 얻는다. 이는 고난을 극복하여 심리적 변환의 과정을 통한 개성화의 의미를 가진다. 이러한 허물벗기는 신화, 종교, 민담에서 지혜, 변환, 재탄생과 치유의 상징으로 인식되어 사람들의 무의식에 자리하게 되었다.

지역적 이진패턴을 이용한 2차원 바코드 검출 알고리즘 (A 2-D Barcode Detection Algorithm based on Local Binary Patterns)

  • To increase the data capacity of one-dimensional symbology, 2D barcodes have been proposed a decade ago. In this paper, a new 2D barcode detection algorithm based on Local Binary Pattern is presented. To locate 2D barcode symbols, a texture analysis scheme based on the Local Binary Pattern is adopted, and a gray-scale projection with sub-pixel operation is utilized to separate the symbol precisely from the input image. Finally, the segmented symbol is normalized using the inverse perspective transformation for the decoding process. The proposed method ensures high performances under various lighting/printing conditions and strong perspective deformations. Experiments show that our method is very robust and efficient in detecting the symbol area for the various types of 2D barcodes.

  • The aim of this article is to derive twenty five transformation formulas in the form of a single result for the triple hypergeometric series $X_8$ introduced earlier by Exton. The results are derived with the help of generalized Watson#s theorem obtained earlier by Lavoie et al. An interesting special cases are also pointed out.
