The study estimated the relationship between carbon dioxide, crop and livestock production index in Ghana: Estimating the long-run elasticities and variance decomposition by employing a time series data spanning from 1960-2013 using both fit regression and ARDL models. There was evidence of a long-run equilibrium relationship between carbon dioxide emissions, crop production index and livestock production index. Evidence from the study shows that a 1% increase in crop production index will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 0.52%, while a 1% increase in livestock production index will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 0.81% in the long-run. There was evidence of a bidirectional causality between a crop production index and carbon dioxide emissions and a unidirectional causality exists from livestock production index to carbon dioxide emissions. Evidence from the variance decomposition shows that 37% of future fluctuations in carbon dioxide emissions are due to shocks in the crop production index while 18% of future fluctuations in carbon dioxide emissions are due to shocks in the livestock production index. Efforts towards reducing pre-production, production, transportation, processing and post-harvest losses are essential to reducing food wastage which affects Ghana's carbon footprint.
Ceramics manufacturers in the nation produced more than 5000 tons of ceramics wastes a year increasing industrial waste quantity: However, almost no researches were made to reduce environmental pollution and to recycle waste ware. In this study, white ware scraps that were produced at Icheon, Gyeonggi-do were recycled to make use of them as raw materials of ceramics body and to develop new ceramics body that had economic advantages and good quality. The findings showed that the addition of waste ware had limit of 20 wt% considering molding. The addition of waste ware of 20 wt% to white ware lowered baking temperature of the white ware that was added by waste ware of 20 wt% by 30$^{\circ}C$ than existing white ware, and property values were good, for instance, porosity of 3% in average and water absorptivity of 2% in average, and the bending strength recorded more than 800 kgf/$cm^2$ to be high than that of existing white ware being sold in market. The waste ware could be used to produce new ware body and to recycle resources and to solve environmental problems caused by burial and to improve property of ceramics and to save transportation costs as well as baking costs.
The municipal solid waste (MSW) management system in one of the Class II Indian cities i.e. Rishikesh was studied and analysed to identify the key issues in solid waste management in the city. A total of 329 solid waste samples from 47 households were collected to characterize the household solid waste (HSW). The average (HSW) generation rate was 0.26 kg/c/d and it was composed of organic waste (57.3%), plastics (14%), paper (10.9%), and glass and ceramic (1.3%) and other materials (16.5%). There was an inverse relationship between household waste generation rate and family size (p < 0.05). The MSW management system practiced in Rishikesh is unsound. There is no waste segregation at source, no provisions of composting and no recycling by formal sector. The collection and transportation of waste is inadequate and inappropriate. Collected waste is dumped in open dumping site without scientific management. Following are some recommendations for developing a sustainable solid waste management system in Rishikesh city: (1) sensitize people for segregation at source; (2) promote reduction, reuse and recycling of wastes; (3) promote community based composting; (4) provision for 100% door to door collection and; (5) formalize the informal sectors such as rag pickers and recycling industries.

Surfing is a sport sensitive to changes in the natural environment, using naturally occurring waves. In other words, factors such as the construction of coastal structures, coastal erosion, and sediment transportation could cause the wave to change into a direction inappropriate for surfing at the shore where surfable waves were reaching. In this study, we call the characteristics of the coastal environment that affect the formation of surfable waves as surfing resources, which is subsequently analyzed by coastal engineering methodologies. Also, using Delft3D-WAVE module (SWAN model), a way to evaluate sustainability of surfable wave is suggested through analysis of surfing resources at Jukdo, Yangyang, Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea.
This article analyzes issues regarding the economic development of the arctic area with the aim of finding ways to help solve the problems and to support sustainable economic development of the arctic area. Some proposals are introduced for establishing a sound legal infrastructure of the Korea-Russia economic development of the arctic area. As Russia develops the Arctic area and the route through the Arctic area, Korea will gain the possibility of transportation efficiency, vitalization of international transaction, and finding new markets. Resource development in the North Pole is ongoing, with matching international transaction and economic benefits. To reflect the Korea-Russia interests and to sustain the effect, the legal infrastructure is inevitable. For example, it would be reinforced by pushing forward the Korea-Russia FTA. The legal infrastructure for economic cooperation of Korea and Russia has to reflect that 'the development of the Arctic area and making the route through the Arctic area' should increase the sustainability and vitality of international transaction. The legal infrastructure for economic benefits can also help mitigating non-economic arguments of international community such as the security risk in the Korean-peninsula and around the world.
Recently, the whole world is facing an unprecedented moment of opportunity, so-called The Fourth Industrial Revolution. As emphasized in the World Economic Forum held in January of 2016 at Davos, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is not merely a changes of technological devices. The fundamental of the revolution is new, innovative, and visionary business models which change the whole systems dramatically. One of the greatest challenges is to feed an expected population of 9 billion by 2050 in a impactful way. The system should be sustainable as well as beneficial in improving the lives of people in the food chain along with the ecological health of environment. The technological advances of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are expected to improve our food system. The smart farm technology such as precision planting and irrigation techniques will improve the yields of food materials. The smart food transportation and logistics systems will substantially improve the safety and human nutrition. The adaptation the Fourth Industrial Revolution technology will induce the smart supply chains, smart production, and smart products in food industry due to its flexibility and standardization. This will lead the manufactures to adapt to customers' changing product specifications and traceable services in a timely manner.
Travel is a factor that stimulates the vitality of the urban and is widely used as an indicator of sustainable growth of the region. In Korea, however, no studies has been made to predict changes in traffic and calculate the accessibility of the region by comprehensively considering the socio-economic conditions of the travelers. The purpose of this study is to classify commuters according to the household income and to analyse the traffic characteristics of each class. The analysis results are aggregated into two. First, the analysis of study found different transport characteristics for different income classes. This is the result that underpins the argument of a previous study that suggested that a discriminatory approach is necessary for each income in determining the accessibility of the region. Second, this study calculated utility values differently for each income class based on the transit time and cost required between each zone. Through these measures, transport characteristics were analyzed by income class using indicators that considered transportation infrastructure, and socio-economic conditions of the travelers. This study is meaningful in that it provided the basis for calculating the accessibility that could take into account the activities of the housing consumers in establishing domestic housing policies.
Using forest resources involves solving complex and diverse tasks. At the same time, one of the key goals in the field is improving the quality of forest infrastructure. This direction requires adequate mathematical and economic justification. Moreover, creating an effective infrastructure will not only increase the accessibility and usage volumes of wood and other forest resources, but also contribute to the development of continuous and sustainable forest management. The existing practice of making decisions in terms of the organizational and technological aspects of logging, based on the personal experiences of managers or leading specialists in enterprises, hinders the achievement of constant optimal efficiency. The paper presents results that are a continuation of the research cycle of the authors' team in the fields of optimization and algorithmization of various logging processes. The focus of the study lies in the processing and movement of wood resources, the most valuable products of the investigated groups of enterprises. To this end, the paper presents a developed algorithm for determining an effective technological chain of transportation in logging operations, and for improving loading and unloading processing operations under dynamic natural and production conditions. This algorithm serves as the methodological basis for designing logging infrastructure in a dynamically changing environment.

Urban development has brought about the increasing saturation of urban traffic demand, and traffic congestion has become the primary problem in transportation. Roads are in a state of waiting in line or even congestion, which seriously affects people's enthusiasm and efficiency of travel. This paper mainly studies the discrete domain path planning method based on the flow data. Taking the traffic flow data based on the highway network structure as the research object, this paper uses the deep learning theory technology to complete the path weight determination process, optimizes the path planning algorithm, realizes the vehicle path planning application for the expressway, and carries on the deployment operation in the highway company. The path topology is constructed to transform the actual road information into abstract space that the machine can understand. An appropriate data structure is used for storage, and a path topology based on the modeling background of expressway is constructed to realize the mutual mapping between the two. Experiments show that the proposed method can further reduce the interpolation error, and the interpolation error in the case of random missing is smaller than that in the other two missing modes. In order to improve the real-time performance of vehicle path planning, the association features are selected, the path weights are calculated comprehensively, and the traditional path planning algorithm structure is optimized. It is of great significance for the sustainable development of cities.
