폴리머의 어블레이션 시 소거성 잉크를 이용한 잔유물 제거공정 개발 (Development of Debris-free Process using Erasable Ink for Polymer Ablation)

  • The excimer laser ablation of a polymer occurs by the excitation of chemical bonds to energy levels that are above the dissociation energy. In this process, however, fragmented debris is finally ejected explosively by the scission of bonds and accumulates on the material surface. In the present work, a process for eliminating surface debris contamination generated by the laser ablation of a polymer is developed. The proposed approach for removing surface debris utilizes an erasable ink pasted on a polymide. The ink pasted polyimide is ablated by KrF excimer laser. The surface debris ejected from the polyimide is then combined with the ink layer on the polymer. Finally, both the surface debris and the ink layer are removed using adhesive tape or alcohol solvent. The results suggest that the erasable ink method is a simple, low cost, and extremely effective debris eliminating process.

해변 표착 플라스틱 쓰레기 서식 중형저서부착생물 조성과 서식밀도 (Composition and Abundance of Meiofaunal biofouling on the Surface of Plastic Debris Washed Ashore)

  • We investigated meiofaunal biofouling (40-1,000 ㎛) on stranded marine plastic debris (hereafter MPD) collected from 8 coastal areas highly affected by plastic pollution located in the southern part of Korea during June, 2021, in order to analyze the abundance and composition of MPD associated organisms. A total of eight shapes of MPD was collected and classified into four types of plastics (LDPE, PET, PP and EPS) based on Resin Identification Coding System. Meiofounal biofouling was identified into 35 taxa belonging to 11 phylum, 10 classes and 12 order, and were numerically dominated by harpacticoids (EPS: 21.6%, PP: 27.1%), nematodes (LDPE: 23.2%) and foraminiferans (PET: 29.6%). Surface area of MPD was negatively correlated with abundances of organisms on the plastic debris (r = -0.487, p < 0.05, n = 24), indicating that abundances (avg. 3,225 inds. 0.1 m-2) on the smallest area of PP debris (avg. 0.0208 m2 ) were higher than those (avg. 50 inds. 0.1 m-2) on the largest area of LDPE debris (avg. 0.4029 m-2). Whereas, there was no correlation between surface area of MPD and the number of taxa on the debris (r = 0.147, p = 0.49, n = 24). These results showed that higher abundances of meiofaunal biofouling were observed on the PP material debris than those on the other debris collected from eight hot spots of the southern coastal waters in Korea, associated with not only polymer type and surface area of the PP debris, but also possibly surface microstructure of the PP debris.

  • The most part of the faculty drop a trouble and damage of machine equipment even if whatever cause they break out take place at local and trifling place and the factor dominating their trouble is due to wear debris occurred in the lubricated machine moving surface. This study has been car-ried out to identify morphology of wear debris on the lubricated machine moving system by means of computer image analysis. Namely the wear debris contained in lubricating oil extracted from movable machine equipment will be filtered through membrane filter(void diameter 0.45${\mu}m$) and will be analyzed with its data information such as 50% volume diameter aspect roundness and reflectivity. Morphological characteristic of wear debris is easily distinguished by four shape parameters it is necessary to divide small class of every 100 wear debris in total wear particles in order to distinguish morphological characteristic of wear debris more easily by computer image analysis. We are sure that operation condition diagnosis of the lubricated machine moving surfaces is possible by computer image analysis.

신경회로망 모델을 이용한 기계윤활면의 마멸분 형태식별 (Wear Debris Identification of the Lubricated Machine Surface with Neural Network Model)

  • The neural network was applied to identify wear debris generated from the lubricated machine surface. The wear test was carried out under different experimental conditions. In order to describe characteristics of debris of various shapes and sizes, the four shape parameter(50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) of wear debris are used as inputs to the network and learned the friction condition of five values(material 3, applied load 1, sliding distance 1). It is shown that identification results depend on the ranges of these shape parameter learned. The three kinds of the wear debris had a different pattern characteristics and recognized the friction condition and materials very well by neural network.

  • Carbon fiber polymeric composites have been widely used in bearing materials under high pressure without oil-lubrication due to their self-lubricating characteristics. However, the severe wear of carbon composite surface occurs due to the generation of wear debris when the pressure applied on the composite surface is higher than the critical value of composite surface. In this work, in order to remove wear debris continuously during sliding operation, composite specimens with many micro-grooves on their sliding surfaces were devised. To investigate the effect of wear debris on the tribological behavior of carbon/epoxy composites, dry sliding tests were performed with respect to applied pressure using the composite specimens with and without micro-grooves. From the measurement of friction coefficients and wear rates, a model for the effect of wear debris on the friction and wear of composites was proposed.

  • Wherever there are rotating equipment and contact between surface, there is wear and the generation of wear particles. The particles contained in the lubricating oil carry detailed and important information about the condition monitoring of the machine. This information may be deduced from particle shape, composition, size distribution, and concentration. Therefore, This paper was undertaken to Ferrography system of wear debris generated from lubricated moving machine surface. The lubricating wear test was performed under different experimental conditions using the Falex wear test of Pin and V-Block type by Ti(C, N) coated. It was shown from the test results that wear particle concentration (WPC) and wear severity Index( $I_{S}$), size distribution in normal and abnormal wear have come out all the higher value by increases sliding friction time. Wear shape is observed on the Ferrogram it was discovered a thin leaf wear debris as well as ball and plate type wear particles. This kind of large wear shape have an important effect not only metals damage, but also seizure phenomenon.

  • During contact between surfaces, there is wear and the generation of wear. The particles contained in the lubricating oil carry detailed and important monitoring information about the condition of the machine. Therefore, this paper was undertaken for the Ferrography system of wear debris generated from a lubricated moving machine surface. The lubricating wear test was performed under different experimental conditions using the Falex wear test of the Pin and V-Block types by Ti(C,N) coated. It was shown from the test results that wear particle concentration(WPC), wear severity index(Is) and size distribution have come out all higher with increases in sliding friction time. With the Ferrogram thin leaf wear debris as well as ball and plate type wear particles were observed.

  • Previous studies demonstrated that laser ablation under transparent liquid can result in ablation enhacement and particle removal from the surface. In this work, the liquid-assisted excimer laser ablation process is examined fer polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), Si, and alumina with emphasis on ablation enhacement, surface topography, and debris formation. In the case of PET and PMMA, the effect of liquid is analyzed both fer thin water film and bulk water. As the ablation enhanement by liquid is already known for Si and alumina, the analysis focuses on surface topography and debris formation resulting from the liquid-assisted laser ablation process. The results show that application of liquid increases the ablation rate of PMMA while that of PET remains unchanged even in the liquid-assisted process. It is also revealed that the liquid can significantly improve the surface quality by reducing the debris deposition. However, the surface roughness is generally deteriorated in the liquid-assisted process. The surface toporaphy is found to be strongly dependent on the method of liquid application, i.e., thin film or bulk liquid.

Neural Network에 의한 기계윤활면의 마멸분 해석 (Analysis of Wear Debris on the Lubricated Machine Surface by the Neural Network)

  • This paper was undertaken to recognize the pattern of the wear debris by neural network as a link for the development of diagnosis system for movable condition of the lubricated machine surface. The wear test was carried out under different experimental conditions using the wear test device was made in laboratory and wear testing specimen of the pin-on-disk type were rubbed in paraffine series base oil, by varying applied load, sliding distance and mating material. The neural network has been used to pattern recognition of four parameter (diameter, elongation, complex and contrast) of the wear debris and learned the friction condition of five values (material 3, applied load 1, sliding distance 1). The three kinds of the wear debris had a different pattern characteristic and recognized the friction condition and materials very well by the neural network. The characteristic parameter of the large wear debris over a few micron size enlarged recognition ability.

태백산맥 남부산지의 암설사면지형 (The Study on the Debris Slope Landform in the Southern Taebaek Mountains)

  • 본 연구는 암설사면지형이 잘 발달하고 다양하게 분포하는 태백산맥의 남부산지를 대상으로 항공 사진판독과 도상계측 및 현지조사를 통하여 노출암설사면의 분포, 형태 및 퇴적물의 특성을 분석하고 사면의 지형적 배열과 지형발달에 관해서 연구한 논문으로써 분포적 특성에 있어서는 애추의 경우 기반암이 경암이거나 절리가 잘 발달된 지질에서, 암괴류의 경우는 화강섬록암 지질에서 높은 분포밀도를 보였다. 형태적 특성은 애추, 암괴류 모두 설상이 각각 83${\%}$, 80${\%}로 가장 많았으며 지형면의 경사도에 있어서는 애추가, 길이에 있어서는 암괴류가 각각 우세했다. 퇴적물의 특성중 암설의 평균입경은 암괴류가 보다 크게 나타났다. 한 지형면에서 암설의 장축방향성의 경우 방향성 있는 경우와 없는 경우가 있는데, 후자는 지형면상의 함몰로 그 방향성이 상실된 것으로 보인다. 끝으로 지형발달의 경우, 애추는 암석낙하(rock fall)에 의한 형성기(최종빙기)와 2차적인 영역에 의한 조정기(후빙기)로 암괴류는 암괴의 생성기(제3가 또는 제 4기의 간빙기), 암괴류의 형성기(최종빙기), 조정기(후빙기)로 구분할 수 있었다. 그리고 산지 사면의 배열유형은 6가지 유형으로 분류되었다.
