  • Supply Chain Management is a process-oriented concept, integrated approach to procuring, producing, and delivering products and services to customers. Supply Chain Management covers the management of material, information, and funds flows. A strategic supply chain management produces for value maker and the ultimate customer. One aim of this paper is to determine the effect of contract parameters on the quality of the end product of the supplier-producer chain. The supply chain management is viewed as a single entity rather fragmented. This research constructed model the relationship of supply chain management to quality management. The questionnaire were tested with survey of supplier's employee and the result were analyzed using SEM(Structural Equation Model). As a result, Quality performance positively depends on the communication, coordination, and process management between the supplier and the producer.

  • The objectives of the research were to modify and validate a daily water balance model, DIROM, for irrigation reservoirs using field data, and to estimate daily water supply from the reservoirs in the Han river basin. Modified DIROM was applied to three test sites, and validated with field data. The relative errors between the simulated and observed water supply were less than 10 percent. Historical records on daily or ten-day’s storage for 110 reservoirs from the twenty Farmland Improvement Associations, FIA were collected and used to estimate the daily water supply during 1993 to 1997. The results were applied to the other 723 reservoirs that are not owned by FIA. The five-year averaged annual water supply from the reservoirs was estimated to be 180 million ㎥/yr. Maximum yearly water supply was recorded to be 190 million ㎥/yr in 1996.

  • Supply chain management(SCM) has been recognized as a major strategy in today's market place. A growing number of researchers have begun to realize the strategic importance of model construction, planning, controlling and operation for SCM. Also various researches of supply chain model building are going on. In this paper, we synthesis key elements of supply chain model such as performance factors, decision variables and constraints. We have reviewed past and present supply chain models and then analyzed those in view of environment factors, operations, solution approaches.

  • In this paper, we present empirical testing result to examine the validity of inbound supply and outbound demand risk factors in the sense of early predicting the firm's bankruptcy risk level. The risk factors are drawn from industry uncertainty attributes categorized as uncertainties of input market (inbound supply), and product market (outbound demand). On the basis of input-output table, industry level inbound and outbound sectors are identified to formalize supply chain structures, relevant inbound and outbound uncertainty attributes and corresponding risk factors. Subsequently, publicly available macro-economic indicators are used to appropriately quantify these risk factors. Total 68 industry level bankruptcy risk forecasting results are presented with the average R-square scores of between 53.4% and 37.1% with varying time lag. The findings offers useful insights to incorporate supply chain risk to the body of firm's bankruptcy risk level prediction literature.

  • The effects of unsteady combustion are experimentally studied using forced pulsating mixture supply. It was shown that unsteady combustion used in this experiment plays an important role in controlling self-excited combustion oscillations. It may also have desirable performances, from a practical point of view, such as high combustion load, augmented heat transfer, reduced pollutant emissions and so on. We examined the characteristics of unsteady combustion driven by forced pulsating mixture supply in a small duct-combustor with a rearward-facing step. Further, we found its influence on the onset of self-excited combustion oscillations, the possibility of suppressing self-excited combustion oscillations and the reason why the self-excited combustion oscillation was suppressed using the forced pulsating mixture supply, comparing with the steady mixture supply.

  • In this study, based on the principal-agent paradigm, we investigate a joint cost reduction activity in a buyer-supplier supply chain where a buyer motivates its operations department and a supplier to reduce the supply chain's production cost. We construct a benefit-sharing model based on the target cost scheme, a basic philosophy in practice which has not been explored in previous studies. The model also incorporates various supply chain issues such as the cooperation of multiple agents, the opportunity loss, and the degree of strategic relationship between the buyer and the supplier. Based on the analysis of the principal-agent model, we investigate the benefit-sharing rule to control agents' actions, and we also provide important managerial implications into supply chain practices via extensive comparative static analyses.

  • Because of world financial crisis, The Korea domestic construction industry has been damaged hugely on material supplying work. A current domestic material supply system can't react properly on a great rise of foreign exchange rate and raw material price, so the system has a problem which is not properly supplying material. To solve this problem, a more innovative material supply work system is seriously needed than ever. So this study wants to improve material supply system for supplying material right time, right place through applying a web-based system. Applying this, overall process of material-supply-work can be done on a web-based system for immediately understanding change of ordering and warehousing by material-supply-schedule to a domestic construction field.

  • This paper examined the supply chain management partnerships factors and business performance in Korean industry. As SCM got evolved, the importance of partnership and relationship among the SC members are increased. we should consider the following critical factors such as lead-time reduction, embedness, trust. The purpose of this study is to focus on partnership factors and flexibility to clarify with the Partnering experience which of the SCM factors contribute to business performance for the SCM firms. Based on the analysis of seventy cases, the following results were found. First, SCM operational factors of supply chain management have a positively significant influence on flexibility of supply chain management. Second, partnerships experience factors of supply chain management have a positively significant influence on flexibility of supply chain management. This study suggests that partnerships are main factors for the business performance. Especially, our empirical evidence shows that partnership experience can improve the influence on SCM operational factors and business performance.

  • A reliable and compact pulse power supply using a thyratron and a magnetic pulse compression (MPC) circuit was developed for a metal vapor laser. The life time of the pulse power supply is expected to be much longer than that of a conventional thyratron-discharge type pulse power supply. A thyratron generated a long pulse of its conduction pulse width 500 ns and then it was compressed to less than 80 ns of its output voltage rise time by a three stage MPC circuit. This pulse power supply was applied to a laser plasma tube of 30 mm inner diameter and 1.5 m discharge length. It was operated several hundreds hours without any troubles.

  • Condensing gas boiler units may make a big role for the reduction of energy consumption in heating industries. In order to decrease the energy consumption of a boiler unit, the effective operation is necessary. In this study, the supply water temperature algorithm of a condensing gas boiler was developed. This includes the setpoint algorithm and the control algorithm of the supply water temperature. The setpoint algorithm was developed by the fuzzy logic and the control algorithm was developed by the proportional integral algorithm. In order to analyse the performance of the supply water temperature algorithm, the dynamic model of a condensing gas boiler system was used. Simulation results showed that the supply water temperature algorithm developed for this study may be practically applied for the control of the condensing gas boiler.
