Purpose: The purpose of this study was to gain knowledge of successful aging for the Korean elderly and to identify the effects of an intervention program on the change of the knowledge Method: Data were collected from 134 elders from 3 schools for the elderly in H City. The Successful Aging Scale was used to collect data and modified CDSMP was applied as the intervention. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and ANCOVA were used. Results : The total score of the knowledge of successful aging among the elderly cohort was 2.44 out of 3, and the scores of the factors making up old age were 2.66 for the success of children, 2.63 for self-control, 2.56 for self-efficacy, and 2.05 for happy marriage. Life satisfaction from the success of children and self-control were strongly correlated(r=0.7036, p=0.000). Conclusion: The self-management program brought positive changes to the knowledge of successful aging through the self-control parameter, and although it could not change the degree of knowledge of the overall successful aging among the elderly cohort, the program represents the first Korean nursing intervention focused on self-management techniques needed for successful aging.

Background: Despite fall prevention strategies suggested by researchers, falls are still a major health concern in older adults. Understanding factors that differentiate successful versus unsuccessful balance recovery may help improve the prevention strategies. Objects: The purpose of this review was to identify biomechanical factors that differentiate successful versus unsuccessful balance recovery in the event of a fall. Methods: The literature was searched through Google Scholar and PubMed. The following keywords were used: 'falls,' 'protective response,' 'protective strategy,' 'automated postural response,' 'slips,' 'trips,' 'stepping strategy,' 'muscle activity,' 'balance recovery,' 'successful balance recovery,' and 'failed balance recovery.' Results: A total of 64 articles were found and reviewed. Most of studies included in this review suggested that kinematics during a fall was important to recover balance successfully. To be successful, appropriate movements were required, which governed by several things depending on the direction and characteristics of the fall. Studies also suggested that lower limb muscle activity and joint moments were important for successful balance recovery. Other factors associated with successful balance recovery included fall direction, age, appropriate protective strategy, overall health, comorbidity, gait speed, sex and anticipation of the fall. Conclusion: This review discusses biomechanical factors related to successful versus unsuccessful balance recovery to help understand falls. Our review should help guide future research, or improve prevention strategies in the area of fall and injuries in older adults.

This study examined attitudes toward factors underpinning a successful marriage and their associations with marital satisfaction among married men and women in midlife. The sample comprised 201 married men and women aged between 40 and 59 living in Seoul, South Korea, and the data were collected by a self-report survey in 2019. Attitudes toward factors underpinning a successful marriage were measured using 12 items from the European Values Study Master Questionnaire 2008 and marital satisfaction was measured using three items from the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were performed in order to identify the factors deemed important for a successful marriage, as well as a t-test to explore gendered domains. Additionally, regression analysis was conducted to examine the association between attitudes toward factors underpinning a successful marriage and marital satisfaction. The results revealed two factors that were deemed important for a successful marriage: 'marital exchange based on conditions' and 'qualitative interaction based on sharing.' Women were more likely to believe that both factors were important for a successful marriage than men. The regression analysis revealed that 'qualitative interaction based on sharing' had a positive association with marital satisfaction, while 'marital exchange based on conditions' had a negative association with marital satisfaction, and also that these associations did not differ by gender. The findings imply that a successful marriage can be achieved when married partners make efforts to maintain their relationships through positive interactions and share intimacy in midlife.

SCM(Supply Chain Management) is one of the important issues in internet-based business environment. This study intends to suggest a research model to investigate the influence of environmental, organizational, technical factors on successful SCM system implementation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the organizational characteristics of SCM adoption on successful implementation of SCM systems, including the moderating effects of competitiveness. 122 companies data were collected by survey. The results of hypothesis testing showed that project management is the most important determinants to influence successful SCM system implementation. In addition to that, top management support, IS maturity have positive influence to successful implementation of SCM systems in direct effect model. Also, the results of hypothesis testing in moderating effect model show that competitiveness has a positive impact to successful implementation of SCM systems.

In this paper, we focus on churn analysis for the first successful candidates in the entrance examination on 2006 year using Clementine, data mining tool. The goal of this study is to apply decision tree including C5.0 and CART algorithms, neural network and logistic regression techniques to predict a successful candidate churn. And we analyze the churning and nochurning successful candidates and why the successful candidates churn and which successful candidates are most likely to churn in the future using data from entrance examination data of K university on 2006 year.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions of successful ageing and the influencing factors focusing on social support from family and friends to improve elderly's quality of life. The 300 respondents, all participants in programs at facilities for the elderly, were interviewed via a questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0. The results are as follows. First, the average score for successful ageing among the participants was above average. Second, the level of successful ageing varied according to income and religion. Third, the common variables affecting active or emotionally successful ageing were support from friends, subjective health conditions, and gender. It is suggested that the community should be informed of the importance of support from family through educational programs, as the elderly still want the support of family despite family's reduced role.

본 연구에서는 성공적 노화이론의 생의학적 이론과 사회심리학적 이론에 대한 각각의 선행요인인 주관적 건강 및 노인차별경험을 측정하여 어느 측면이 보다 성공적 노화에 영향을 주고 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 주요 결과를 보면, 첫째, 노인차별경험 중 무시차별경험이 다른 차별경험 보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 사회인구적 변수를 가지고 주관적 건강, 노인차별경험, 성공적 노화에 대한 차이를 분석한 결과 여성에 비해 남성이 높은 노인차별경험을 하고 있었다. 연령, 경제수준, 학력에서도 주관적 건강 및 차별경험 일부에서 차이를 나타냈다. 마지막으로, 이 연구의 주요목적인 성공적 노화에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 주관적 건강과 차별경험 중 재산차별이 성공적 노화에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 통해 우리는 성공적 노화를 위해서 주관적 건강(생의학적 측면의 선행변수)이 노인차별경험(사회심리학적 측면의 선행변수) 보다 중요한 설명력을 갖는다는 사실을 검증했다. 이를 통해 효과적인 건강증진사업 등의 정책 입안 및 시행이 우선적으로 필요하다는 것이 입증되었으며, 노인차별을 위한 방지대책도 사회적인 논의가 필요하다는 것이 입증되었다.

Purpose: This study was done to investigate factors influencing successful aging in middle-aged women. Methods: A convenience sample of 103 middle-aged women was selected from the community. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, two-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis test, Pearson correlations, Spearman correlations and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. Results: Results of regression analysis showed that significant factors influencing successful aging were post-traumatic growth and social support. This regression model explained 48% of the variance in successful aging. Conclusion: Findings show that the concept 'post-traumatic growth' is an important factor influencing successful aging in middle-aged women. In addition, social support from friends/co-workers had greater influence on successful aging than social support from family. Thus, we need to consider the positive impact of post-traumatic growth and increase the chances of social participation in a successful aging program for middle-aged women.

Purpose: The focus of the study was on the selection-optimization-compensation (SOC) strategy to predict successful aging mediated by dyspnea symptoms in older adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The model was constructed based on the hypotheses that coping strategy and social support of the elders predict successful aging through the SOC strategies. Methods: Participants were 218 outpatients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease recruited for the study. Data collection was done from March 25 to September 11, 2015, and analyzed using SPSSWIN 22.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results: The hypothetical model appeared to be fit to the data. Seven of eight hypotheses selected for hypothetical model were statistically significant. The SOC strategy has only significant indirect effects through dyspnea symptoms on successful aging. Coping strategy, social support, SOC strategies and dyspnea symptoms explained 62% of variance in successful aging. Conclusion: The SOC strategies with social support and dyspnea symptoms significantly explained successful aging among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nursing strategies should be focused on social support and coping strategies to optimize SOC strategies so that older adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are able to manage dyspnea symptoms and eventually achieve successful aging.

Purpose: In this study, we sought to identify the impact of aging anxiety and successful aging on the personality traits of elderly. Method: Subjects were 108 elderly persons aged more than 65 years. Data collected from June to November 2015 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: With regard to the mean scores of personality traits, conscientiousness yielded the highest score, and neuroticism the lowest. The mean score on aging anxiety was below average, and that on successful aging was above average. Aging anxiety differed significantly according to age, present job, economic status, and health status. Successful aging differed significantly according to having a spouse, economic status, and health status. Significant correlations were found between anxiety and conscientiousness, extraversion, and neuroticism, and between successful aging and conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion, openness, and neuroticism. Conscientiousness and neuroticism had an effect on aging anxiety (23.2%), whereas conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion, openness, and neuroticism affected aging anxiety (45.3%). Conclusion: These findings indicate that personality traits reduce aging anxiety and lead to successful aging among elderly.
