By study the basic elements and the development process of the visual identity design, We have the aims in this study to help the design study groups in the country to develop a VI design system with a high degree of efficiency. We clarified the strategic position which the individual basic elements occupy in the visual communication process, by studying the individual function and the character of the basic elements which construct the keynote of VI design system, and the mutual relations among them. Also, we presented in this study the systematic and resonable approaching means in the design development process for the VI system with a high degree of efficiency.

This study explored the trend of postwar period American furniture design and analyzes the contexts of the trend. To be more specific, this study categorized the types of the styles or "looks" of furniture which were dominant in postwar period America: the machine look ; the handicraft look ; the biomorphic look. The background and the context for each look were traced back and analyzed both diachronically and synchronically. Based on the analysis, this study provided two conclusions. First, postwar period American furniture design is in many ways indebted to the World War II, because the war itself and postwar economic revival produced high demands for furniture, which consequently produced a variety of looks of furniture. Second, the furniture design in this period is attributed to commercialism and consumer-oriented design policy formulated in the mid 1920′s when American design established its own identity separating from European avant-gardism.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of elevation design of apartment buildings in other countries, in order to search the new directions of elevation design planning of domestic apartment, so it can plan the qualitative improvement of housing environments can be fulfilled. This study will proceed to examine the following phase. As a preliminary study it trys to classify the formal characteristics of foreign apartment, in order to grasp the seven general ideas and methods of the elevation design through analyzing various design samples of well designed housing buildings. And it searches the variatino methods of the elevation design, and it can suggest the diverse elevation design samples of housing buildings.

The purpose of this thesis is to study on the source, the introductive process and the phenomenon of the regional tendency into Korean modern interior design. To achieve the purpose of this study, the methods and contents are as follows : 1. Explaining the regionalism in the architecture as the source of the regional tendency. 2. Explaining the introductive process of the regional tendency in Korean modern interior design.. For that, 1)Explaining the traditional expression, the leo-corbusian expression and the organic expression with nature in Korean contemporary architecture 2)Explaining the vernacular expression and the abstract expression in Korean modern art 3. Studying the regional tendency in Korean modern interior design For that, 1)Studying the expression of Korean traditionality 2)Studying the expression of the vernacular 3)Studying the expression of the environmental affinity By theme methods and contents, we will study the introduction of the regional tendency into Korean modern interior design.

The urban land is incapacitated to grow and correspond to demand the space in urban area. And recently, rapid increasing of population and complex of urban function on pushed to develop the underground space. In Korea, the underground space development in inefficient in aspect. because development of underground space have not consistent and systematic planning method in underground environment inclounding interion design, extererior design. Therefore this study is suggested the design element for comfortable underground living environment and assortment on utilization of underground space. The results of this study on utilization are security of space through land use efficiency, conservation of historical place, building and natural environment, and technological characteristics, mental image. Accordingly, this study is proposed design element that make comfortable underground space as aspect from stimulation and diversity, sapciousness and feeling of warmth and dryness to compensate improper image of underground space, spacial orientation and way finding.

The applications of intangible cultural heritage in China have encountered development bottlenecks due to poor user experience. In this paper, we begin to study the reasons why the user experience is not good, and to study design methods that enhance the user experience through the theory of five-factor model. Through literature study and comparative study of contestants, this paper investigates the advantages and disadvantages of their interaction design and summarizes the common problems. Next, a survey of these user populations will be conducted to find some design elements that affect the user experience. Finally, through empirical research, the design elements are incorporated into the theory of user experience modeling and case studies demonstrate that the application of the design elements is beneficial to improving the user experience.

The purpose of this study was to develop design principles of both animated pedagogical agents as 'credible' persuasive message source and persuasive fear arousing instructional messages in order to help enhance attitude changes toward a certain issue. Based on the previous pedagogical agent research, this study drew the design principles providing ways to manipulate agent credibility level and fear arousing level of message. Consequently, it specified how to make pedagogical agents perceived less or more credible by learners by manipulating a variety of agent features. For fear arousing message, this study showed how fear arousing messages would be structured into one of three levels: non-threatening, moderately threatening, and strongly threatening. Two different agent conditions and three message conditions were actually developed and experimentally tested with the participants of 40 undergraduate students. The results showed that the agent design principles specified from the previous research worked well enough to make a distinction between the more credible agent and the less credible agent. The overall results of this study may indicate that the design strategies for fear arousing message are retained on the premise of some future refinements.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the issues and problems of interior design education in Korea and to further present guidelines for curriculum development and research on interior design education in Korea for the 21st Century. Content analysis and scholastic inquiry from various sources were used to examine the issues concerning 1) professional identity, 2) curriculum structure, and 3) creative scholarship including interdisciplinary approach. Identification of these issues presented in this study will allow interior design educators to help prepare interior design students who are qualified to lead the profession in the future.

The seismic design guidelines for the pile-supported marginal wharf structures are studied. Various design codes such as AASHTO code or UBC code, which are focused on general structures, may be referred for the design of the wharf structures. However, in developing domestic design code, special consideration should be made concerning the size of the earthquake and the type of the structure. This study aims at the comparison among the various design codes for a specific wharf structure in the process of developing a domestic design code.

The purpose of study is to know how a tendency of organic design have become in mordern architecture-from 20C. architecture to current architecture. In particular, I want to find it out in digital architecture-one of current architecture. To do this, first, I research concept, categories, characteristics of organic design in mordern architecture. Second, I observe theoretical background and analyze design characteristics of digital architecture. Finally, I recognize form of digital architecture have a side of a tendency of organic design.
