Children's Proportional Reasoning on Problem Type of Proportion according to Ill-Structured Degree (비(非)구조화된 정도에 따른 비례 문제 유형에서 나타난 초등학생의 비례추론에 관한 연구)

  • Proportional reasoning is considered as a difficult concept to most elementary school students and might be connect to functional thinking, algebraic thinking, and mathematical thinking later. The purpose of this study is to analyze the sixth graders' development level of proportional reasoning so that children's problem solving processes on different proportional problem items were investigated in a way how the problem type of proportion and the degree of ill-structured affect to their levels. Results showed that the greater part of participants solved problems on the level of proportional reasoning and various development levels according to type of problem. In addition, they showed highly the level of transition and proportional reasoning on missing value problems rather than numerical comparison problems.

  • In this study, an inspection system based on an optical scanning mechanism is developed for the inspection of silicon wafers in solar cells. In particular, a structured hybrid illumination system that can satisfy the illumination requirement for the detection of various defects is designed. In the hybrid illumination system, the optimum illumination conditions are selected by considering the design of experiment in master glass and silicon wafer. The illumination conditions available are B-high, BG-high, BR-high, and BGR-high for master glass and R-middle-B-medium for silicon wafers. By using the illumination conditions for silicon wafers, numerous surface defects like pinhole, scratch, and chipping, can be accurately detected. The hybrid illumination system is expected to be widely used for the inspection of silicon wafers in solar cells.

  • To achieve the aim of this study, 9 different types of samples were made to examine mechanical property according to structured pattern and type of Machi of pullover armhole of WholeGarment(seamless knitwear). With respect to samples, from which comparisons are made and anaylzed among basic characteristics of material, tensile strength & elongation and residual elongation due to repeated extension of armhole connecting part, the following conclusions could be obtained. It's revealed that the tensile strength of Machi part as being armhole connecting part of samples is more affected by Machi type than pattern structure. Of Machi types, it showed stronger tensile strength in the order of Normal(Normal Machi)< Machi_B(unilateral Machi)

Measuring Leaf Areas with a Structured-Light 3D Scanner (3차원 구조광 스캐너를 이용한 식물의 잎 면적 측정 방법)

  • We have developed a non-destructive, touch-free method for estimating leaf areas with a structured-light three-dimensional (3D) scanner. When the surfaces of soybean leaves were analyzed with both the 3D scanner and a leaf area meter, the results were linearly related ($R^2=0.90$). The strong correlation ($R^2=0.98$) was calculated between shoot fresh weights and leaf areas when the scanner was employed during growth stages V1 to V4. We also found that leaf areas measured by the scanner could be used to detect changes in growth responses to abiotic stress. Whereas under control conditions the areas increased over time, salt and drought treatments were associated with reductions in those values after 14 d and 12 d, respectively. Based on our findings, we propose that a structured-light 3D scanner can be used to obtain reliable estimates of leaf area and plant biomass.

A Study on the Corona Discharge Simulation Using FEM-FCT Method (FEM-FCT 기법을 이용한 코로나 방전 시뮬레이션에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, the corona discharge is analyzed by Finite Element Method(FEM) combined with Flux-corrected Transport(FCT) algorithm. In the previous papers, Finite Difference Method(FDM) combined with FCT was used. Usually in the FDM, the regionof interest is discretized with structured grids. But to refine local regions with same resolution, much more grids are required for the structured grids than for unstructured grids than for unstructured grids. Therefore, we propose the FEM-FCT method to simulate the corona discharge. The proposed method has good flexibility in model shape and can reduce the computational cost by the local refinement where the physical quantities have steep gradients. Using the proposed method, we study the streamer growth of parallel plate electrodes which is initiated by the low and high perturbation density. We find that the varying the initial density of perturbation has very little effect on the streamer propagation. And the corona discharge of the rod-to-plane electrode is simulated. On the surface of the rod electrode, the high concentration of the electric field gives rise to many number of streamer seeds. The strong axial streamer propagate to the plane electrode. The weaker non-axial streamer repel each other and stop growing more. The results are very similar to those of the papers which used the FDM-FCT method on structured grids. Thus we can conclude that the proposed FEM-FCT method is more efficient than the conventional FDM-FCT method by virtue of the reduction in computational grids number.

Improving Diversity of Keyword Search on Graph-structured Data by Controlling Similarity of Content Nodes (콘텐트 노드의 유사성 제어를 통한 그래프 구조 데이터 검색의 다양성 향상)

  • Recently, as graph-structured data is widely used in various fields such as social networks and semantic Webs, needs for an effective and efficient search on a large amount of graph data have been increasing. Previous keyword-based search methods often find results by considering only the relevance to a given query. However, they are likely to produce semantically similar results by selecting answers which have high query relevance but share the same content nodes. To improve the diversity of search results, we propose a top-k search method that finds a set of subtrees which are not only relevant but also diverse in terms of the content nodes by controlling their similarity. We define a criterion for a set of diverse answer trees and design two kinds of diversified top-k search algorithms which are based on incremental enumeration and A heuristic search, respectively. We also suggest an improvement on the A search algorithm to enhance its performance. We show by experiments using real data sets that the proposed heuristic search method can find relevant answers with diverse content nodes efficiently.

A Study on the Types and the Frequencies of Personality Disorders/Traits in the Patients with Somatoform Disorders (신체형 장애 환자에서 동반되는 인격 장애/성향의 유형 및 빈도에 대한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to identify the relationships between personality disorders/traits and somatoform disorders. After the patients were screened through self-rated SCID-II Questionnaire(Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-III-R, Questionnaire), the researcher got psychiatric history, performed clinician-rated SCID-P(Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-III-R, Patient Edition), classified and diagnosed mental disorders with SCID-P, and evaluated SCID-II(Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-III-R, Personality Disorders) by direct interview. The prevalencies of avoidant, obsessive-compulsive, schizotypal, narcissistic, paranoid, dependent, self-defeating, borderline personality disorders/traits in patients with somatoform disorders were diagnosed as 67.4%, 48.8%, 44.2%, 41.9%, 37.2%, 34.9%, 34.9%, 32.6%, respectively. The frequencies of self-defeating and schizotypal PD/traits were significantly higher than those of other neurotic control group. The results of this study could be regarded as replicating the results of previous studies that had reported most of all patients with somatoform disorder had presented with personality disorders/traits. This study, however, showed that the patients with somatoform disorders accompanied not with any specific types of personality disorders/traits but with various types of personality disorders/traits, which was much different from the previous usual clinical impressions. Thus, it is necessary for clinicians to approach the patients with somatoform disorders through more flexible and more supportive methods and attitude, in order that they should treat them more effectively.

Synthesis of Structured Lipids from Corn Oil and Conjugated Linoleic Acid in the Continuous Type Reactor (연속식 반응기를 이용한 Conjugated Linoleic Acid 함유 재구성지질의 합성 연구)

  • Structured lipids (SL) were synthesized by transesterification of corn oil and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in the continuous type reactor using sn-1,3 specific Rhizomucor miehei lipase. The parameters of reaction were observed in terms of flow rate, temperature, and substrate molar ratios. The highest incorporation of CLA was obtained with 1 mL/min flow rate, 55$^{\circ}C$ and 1 : 3 (corn oil/CLA) molar ratio, showing 10.26 ㏖%. When different reaction temperatures and substrate ratios were studied, the highest incorporation was obtained at $65^{\circ}C$ (17.33 ㏖%) and 1 : 5 (corn oil/CLA) ratio (17.50 ㏖%), respectively. After pancreatic lipase analysis, most of all CLA were found at sn-1,3 position. The iodine values of obtained SLs ranged from 110 to 120. From the neutral lipid analysis by normal-phase HPLC, produced SLs composed of 99.35 ∼ 99.89% triacylglycerols, 0.11 ∼ 0.51% 1,2- and 1,3-diacylglycerols, and 0.06 ∼ 0.22% monoacylglycerols.

Power Saving Algorithm based on Data Reuse in Tree Structured Wireless Sensor Networks (트리 구조 무선 센서 네트워크에서의 데이터 재사용 기반의 전력 절감 기법)

  • Due to limited size and limited battery lifetime of sensor node, one has to address the power saving issue in wireless sensor network. The existing power saving algorithm based on data reuse was proposed for the cluster structured wireless sensor network. We state the problem of existing power saving algorithm and propose new power saving algorithm for tree structured wireless sensor network. The proposed algorithm reduces power consumption by buffering the sensed data at the selected relay node for its data lifetime. The optimum buffering node is selected so that the power saving gain is maximized and at the same time, power consumption among sensor nodes are equally distributed in the network. With computer simulations, it is shown that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional algorithm in terms of power saving gain.

  • Recently, with the activation of the industry related to the big data, the global security companies have expanded their scopes from structured to unstructured data for the intelligent security threat monitoring and prevention, and they show the trend to utilize the technique of user's tendency analysis for security prevention. This is because the information scope that can be deducted from the existing structured data(Quantify existing available data) analysis is limited. This study is to utilize the analysis of security tendency(Items classified purpose distinction, positive, negative judgment, key analysis of keyword relevance) applying the machine learning algorithm($Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes, Decision Tree, K-nearest neighbor, Apriori) in the big data environment. Upon the capability analysis, it was confirmed that the security items and specific indexes for the decision of security tendency could be extracted from structured and unstructured data.
