For the safety analysis of large structures such as nuclear containment buildings, we conventionally prefer to use analytical approach using finite element method rather than empirical test. Therefor, this paper is mainly focused to develop low-order solid finite element model with the elasto-plastic material model for the safety analysis of nuclear containment building. Drucker-Prager failure criteria in uncracked concrete and maximum tensile stress criteria in cracked concrete are used to model the constitutive behavior of concrete. The concrete material model takes into account the aspects of tensile strain, compression strength reduction of concrete and shear transfer to improve the accuracy of the finite element analysis. Finally, numerical simulation to compare the performance of the developed model with experimental results is employed. The numerical results in this study agree very well with the experimental data.
Recently Development of construction system that subjective operators share and control information efficiently based on the three-dimensional space and design information throughout life cycle of construction project is progressing dynamically. In case of civil structures which are infrastructure, Demand for structure of complex system which has multi-functions such as super and smart bridges and express rails is increasing and system development which computerizes and integrates process of structure design is in need. For that, research about link way between three dimensional modeling data and structure analysis programs should be preceded. In this research, therefore, research about interface design between three dimensional virtual modeling data to automate efficient civil-structure-design and nonlinear finite element analysis program which is made up of reinforced concrete material model that express material's character clearly.
The laminated composite materials have been applied to various mechanical structures due to their high performance to weight ratios. In this study, we suggest a stochastic finite element scheme for the probabilistic analysis of the composite laminated plates. The composite materials consist of two different materials which constitute the matrix and fiber. The material properties in the major and minor directions are determined depending on the volume fraction of these two materials. In this study, the elastic modulus and shear modulus are considered as random and the effect of these random properties on the behavior of the composite plate is investigated. We adopt the weighted integral scheme in the formulation, which has been recognized as the most accurate method in the statistical methodologies. For verification of the proposed scheme, Monte Carlo analysis is also performed for the comparison with the proposed scheme.
Glass-fiber reinforced polyester(GFRP) composite material is a promising alternative to existing construction materials such as steel, concrete and wood. One of passible applications of GFRP composite material is to build temporary bridges by assembling GFRP composite decks. In this paper, we develop a system of temporary arch bridges that can be built by easy assembling of GFRP composite decks. For this purpose, several types of temporary arch bridges are suggested and verified by FE analysis.

The modelling approach in the case of connections in precast buildings is specific. The assembly of the constitutive parts of the connection requires the inclusion of contact definitions in the model. In addition, the material non-linearity including the influence of the spatial stress distribution should be taken into account where appropriate. Here a complex model of a beam-to-column dowel connection is presented. Experiments on the analysed connection were performed within the framework of the European project SAFECAST (Performance of Innovative Mechanical Connections in Precast Building Structures under Seismic Conditions). Several material and interaction parameters were investigated and the influence of each of them was evaluated. The set of parameters which gave the best match with the experiments was chosen.
In this study we present the effect of annealing temperatures on the structural, electrical and optical characteristics of Ga-doped ZnO (GZO) films. GZO target is deposited on coming 7059 glass substrates by DC sputtering. and then GZO films are annealed at temperatures of 400, 500, $600^{\circ}C$ in air ambient for 20 min. in this case of as-grown film, it shows the resistivity of $6{\times}10^{-1}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and transmittance under 85%, whereas the electrical and optical properties of film annealed at $500^{\circ}C$ are enhanced up to $1.9{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and 90%, respectively.
This study investigated illustrated Koran fairy tales as material for teaching kindergarten science. The 64 books selected for this study were analyzed by the standards set forth in the Exploring Life segment of the 5th Revision of Kindergarten Teaching Procedures (1993). The story-structure strategy was based on the structural pattern suggested by Moen(1991). Results showed that the structural elements of the illustrated fairy tales could be classified into 7 categories and 8 types of content patterns. After validating the adaptability of the fairy tales for use in teaching Kindergarten science, the books were cataloged by type and category.
In this study, one type of circular shaped composite tube was used, combined with reinforcing foam and without foam. Furthermore, CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) circular member manufactured from CFRP prepreg sheet for lightweight design. CFRP is an anisotropic material which is the most widely adapted lightweight structural member. The crashworthy behavior of circular composite material tubes subjected to static axial compression under same conditions is reported in this paper. The collapse mode during the failure process were observed and analyzed. The behavior of polymeric foams to the tubes crashworthiness were also investigated.
In this paper, MgO thin films were deposited on Si(100) single crystal substrates by RF magnetron sputtering. The effects of RF power, chamber atmosphere, and substrate temperature on the characteristics of MgO thin films were already studied. Thus, we focused on the working pressure. The structural properties of the films changed dramatically with deposition conditions. Structural analyses carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD). MgO films were obtained at the deposition conditions as follows:
