In this paper, an improved predictive functional control (PFC) scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control system is proposed, on account of the standard PFC method cannot provides a satisfying disturbance rejection performance in the case of strong disturbances. The PFC-based method is first introduced in the control design of speed loop, since the good tracking and robustness properties of the PFC heavily depend on the accuracy of the internal model of the plant. However, in orthodox design of prediction model based control method, disturbances are not considered in the prediction model as well as the control design. A minimum-order observer (MOO) is introduced to estimate the disturbances, which structure is simple and can be realized at a low computational load. This paper adopted the MOO to observe the load torque, and the observations are then fed back into PFC model to rebuild it when considering the influence of perturbation. Therefore, an improved PFC strategy with torque compensation, called the PFC+MOO method, is presented. The validity of the proposed method was tested via simulation and experiments. Excellent results were obtained with respect to the speed trajectory tracking, stability, and disturbance rejection.

This paper is proposed hybrid artificial intelligent(HAI) controller for high performance of induction motor drive. The design..of this algorithm based on fuzzy-neural network(FNN) controller that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural network. This controller uses fuzzy rule as training patterns of a neural network. Also, this controller uses the back-propagation method to adjust the weights between the neurons of neural network in order to minimize the error between the command output and actual output. A model reference adaptive scheme is proposed in which the adaptation mechanism is executed by fuzzy logic based on the error and change of error measured between the motor speed and output of a reference model. The control performance of the adaptive FNN controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. The results of experiment prove that the proposed control system has strong high performance and robustness to parameter variation, and steady-state accuracy and transient response.

In the defence wireless communications, conventional Anti-Jamming techniques(Frequency Hopping/Spread Spectrum or Direct Sequence/Spread Spectrum) are used to overcome a intentional interfering signals which are single/multitone or partial band jammer etc. DS/SS techniques is very strong on tone jamming signal but not to be on a partial band jammer. So FH/SS AJ performances are expected method of an substitution of DS/SS, however FH/SS could not have good performance on some BMTJ(Band Multi-tone Jammer). So this paper proposes FH-CSS (Frequency Hopped - Chirp Spread Spectrum) to get more robustness against jammers(BMTJ, PBNJ) and analyze the AJ performances.
In this paper, we propose an adaptive PID controller using a cell-mediated immune response to improve a PID control performance. The proposed controller is based on the specific immune response of the biological immune system that is cell-mediated immunity. The immune system of organisms in the real body regulates the antibody and the T-cells to protect an attack from the foreign materials like virus, germ cells, and other antigens. It has similar characteristics that are the adaptation and robustness to overcome disturbances and to control the plant of engineering application. We first build a model of the T-cell regulated immune response mechanism and then designed an I-PID controller focusing on the T-cell regulated immune response of the biological immune system. We apply the proposed methodology to building structures to mitigate vibrations due to strong winds for evaluation of control performances. Through computer simulations, system responses are illustrated and additionally compared to traditional control approaches.
The need for a more affordable, reliable, clean and secure energy has led to explorations in non-traditional sources, particularly renewable energies. Wind is one of the cleanest energy sources that plays a significant role in augmenting sustainability. Wind turbines, as energy convertors, are usually tall and slender structures, and depending on their location (inland or offshore), they can be subject to high wind and/or strong wave loadings. These loads can cause severe vibrations with detrimental effects on energy production, structural lifecycle and initial cost. A dissipativity analysis study was carried out to know whether wind turbine towers require damping enhancement or rigidity modifications for vibration suppression. The results suggest that wind turbines are lightly damped structures and damping enhancement is a potential solution for vibration lessening. Accordingly, the paper investigates different damping enhancement techniques for vibration mitigation. The efficacy of tuned mass damper (TMD), tuned liquid column damper (TLCD), tuned sloshing damper (TSD), and viscous damper (VD) to reduce vibrations is investigated. A comparison among these devices, in terms of robustness and effectiveness, is conducted. The VD can reduce both displacement and acceleration responses of the tower, better than other types of dampers, for the same control effort, followed by TMD, TSD, and finally TLCD. Nevertheless, the use of VDs raises concerns about where they should be located in the structure, and their application may require additional design considerations.

This paper proposes a new technique of optimal codebook design in multistage gain-shape vector quantization (MS-GS VQ) for wireless image communication. An original image is divided into a smany blocks as possible in order to get strong robustness to channel transmission errors: the original image is decomposed into a number of subband images, each of which contains a sperate spatial frequency information and is obtained by the biorthogonal wavlet transform; each subband is separated into several consecutive VQ stages, where each stage has a residual information of the previous stage; one vector in each stage is divided into two components-gain and shape. But, this decomposition genrates too many blocks and it thus makes the determination of optimal codebooks difficult. We overcome this difficulty by evolving each block's codebook independently with different genetic algorithm that uses each stage's individual training vectors. Th eimpact of th eproposed VQ technique on the channel transmission errors is compared with that of other VQ techniques. Simulation results show that the proposed VQ technique (MS-GS VQ) with the optimal codebook designe dy genetic algorithms is very robust to channel transmission errors even under the bursty and high BER conditions.

Blind algorithms based on Information potential of output samples and a set of symbols generated in random order at the receiver go through performance degradation when biased impulsive noise is added to the channel since the cost function composed of information potentials has no variable to deal with biased signal. Aiming at the robustness against biased impulsive noise, we propose, in this paper, a modified information potential, and derived related blind algorithms based on augmented filter structures and a set of random-order symbols. From the simulation results of blind equalization for multipath channels, the blind algorithm based on the proposed information potential produced superior convergence performance in the environments of strong biased impulsive noise.

The aim of this study was to determine the first outbreaks of nontoxic Gonyaulax polygramma Stein in Yeosu waters in place of harmful Cochlodinium polykrikoides Margalef, which has occurred annually in the same coastal region since 1995. The observation of cellular arrangement and structure by electron microscopy showed that G. polygramma isolated from Yeosu waters had a few spines connecting with mem-branes and prominent longitudinal ridges on the cell surface, with a cingular dis-placement 1.5 times their cell width. Furthermore, the location of the nucleus wasposterior of large oval formation according to electron microscopy. On 6 August, 2004,the first bloom of G. pozygramma occurred, the date of own its disappearance was with a maximum cell density of 8,000 cells ml$^{-1}$ on 21 August, 2004. During the period of this study, the horizontal distribution of sea water temperature and salinity showed a strong coastal front, whereas the front of DIN (Dissolved Inoganic Nitrogen) was significantly different between the occurrence and disappearance of G. polygramma blooms. These results suggested that the process of the breakdown of stratification by wind and a low level of inorganic nitrogen play important roles in the rapid growth of G. polygrmma, which is associated with a greater robustness in growth against DIN than that of C.polykrikoides in nature.
An optimal shape design approach is presented for a subsonic S-shaped intake using aerodynamic sensitivity analysis. Two-equation turbulence model is employed to capture strong counter vortices in the S-shaped duct more precisely. Sensitivity analysis is performed for the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations coupled with two-equation turbulence models using a discrete adjoint method For code validation, the result of the flow solver is compared with experiment data and other computational results of bench marking test. To study the influence oj turbulence models and grid refinement on the duct flow analysis, the results from several turbulence models are compared with one another and the minimum number of grid points, which can yield an accurate solution is investigated The adjoint variable code is validated by comparing the complex step derivative results. To realize a sufficient and flexible design space, NURBS equations are introduced as a geometric representation and a new grid modification technique, Least Square NURBS Grid Approximation is applied With the verified flow solver, the sensitivity analysis code and the geometric modification technique, the optimization of S-shaped intake is carried out and the enhancement of overall intake performance is achieved The designed S-shaped duct is tested in several off-design conditions to confirm the robustness of the current design approach. As a result, the capability and the efficiency of the present design tools are successfully demonstrated in three-dimensional highly turbulent internal flow design and off-design conditions.
