브래킷 결합형식에 따른 용접 구조물의 파이프에서 발생하는 응력분포와 응력집중에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stress Distribution and Stress Concentration of Pipe with Respect to Attached Shape and Method of the Bracket in a Welding Structure)

  • This investigation is the result of the structural analysis by finite element method and test for considering stress distribution and stress concentration to be generated according to the change of attached shape and method of the bracket to pipe in welding structure. Generally, members that consist structures are subjected to various forces and are jointed each other with a number of bracket. In this case, circular pipe was adapted in order to weld these members easily and to study the optimal design which is used a beam with shape section as main components of the structure, According to attached shape and method, distributed stress on circular pipe is appeared so differently. This may result deeply effects with respect to thickness, material properties. So a study on attaching shape and method of bracket to circular pipe is needed. In this paper, to obtain the maximum equivalent stress or stress concentration was used experimental and F.E.M. analysis. First five parameter was defined with respect to attached a shape and method to circular pipe i.e. the variation of the attached area, the variation of the attached shape, the variation of the attached length, the variation of both directin angles, the variation of the upper angle. Afterward the experimental analysis was practiced as the variation of the both direction angel and the finite element analysis was practiced as each parameters. We can discover stress distribution and stress concentration according to the change of form of bracket. And the result can be referenced for a design of similar structure.

안전계수 변화를 고려한 사면거동의 3차원 분석기법 연구 (3-Dimensional Analysis of Slope Behavior with Varying Safety Factor)

  • 사면의 거동에 관한 종래의 해석 기법은 사면거동을 시간과 변위의 2차원 크리프로 해석하는 것이었으나, 이러한 해석 기법은 강우에 의한 응력변화를 고려 않고 시간에 따른 변위만을 고려하여, 강우 시 사면의 거동 및 붕괴를 설명하지 못한다. 또한 강우에 의한 이력현상으로 인해 파괴면내의 전단에너지가 감소한다. 크리프 해석은 응력항을, 이력현상 해석은 시간항을 무시한 해석이므로, 두 가지 해석을 결합하여, 사면의 거동을 해석한다면, 응력변화, 변위 및 시간을 모두 고려한 실제 사면의 거동해석이 됨을 알 수 있다. 그러나 응력변화에 관한 항은, 강우로 인한 실제 사면의 침투 및 배수 시, 전단응력의 변화 및 전단강도의 변화를 동시에 유발하므로, 이 두 항을 동시에 고려할 수 있는 안전계수항으로 바꾸어야 한다. 본 논문은 강우의 지반침투 및 배수로 인하여 사면의 단위중량이 변하는 과정에 대한 크리프와 이력현상을 고려할 수 있는 결합해석으로 고찰하고 이에 따른 사면붕괴에 관한 전단응력과 전단강도의 변화 및 안전계수변화를 3차원으로 나타내고자 수행한 결과이다.

냉간단조용 금형강도에 미치는 보강방법의 영향 (The effect of shrink fitting type on cold forging die)

  • In cold forging die the shrink fitting is generally used to decrease stress and increase die life. In this paper we have studied about the effect of fitting type, When the die insert is splitted into several pieces the maximum stress could be decreased as much as 50~70% The fitting angle could be selected to minimize the maximum stress and the variation of stress on loading and unloading, . In F, E.M result in case 3。 fitting angle the maximum and variation of stress may be minimized.

Limit speeds and stresses in power law functionally graded rotating disks

  • Limit elastic speed analysis of Al/SiC-based functionally graded annular disk of uniform thickness has been carried out for two cases, namely: metal-rich and ceramic rich. In the present study, the unknown field variable for radial displacement is solved using variational method wherein the solution was obtained by Galerkin's error minimization principle. One of the objectives was to identify the variation of induced stress in a functionally graded disk of uniform thickness at limit elastic speed using modified rule of mixture by comparing the induced von-Mises stress with the yield stress along the disk radius, thereby locating the yield initiation. Furthermore, limit elastic speed has been reported for a combination of varying grading index (n) and aspect ratios (a/b).Results indicate, limit elastic speed increases with an increase in grading indices. In case of an increase in aspect ratio, limit elastic speed increases up to a critical value beyond which it recedes. Also, the objective was to look at the variation of yield stress corresponding to volume fraction variation within the disk which later helps in material tailoring. The study reveals the qualitative variation of yield stress for FG disk with volume fraction, resulting in the possibility of material tailoring from the processing standpoint, in practice.

십자형 필렛 용접 이음의 피로균열 에 대한 파괴 역학적 고찰 (A Study on the fracture Mechanical Behavior of Cruciform Welded Joint With Fracture Cracks)

  • This paper describes a study of fillet welded joint stressed perpendicular to the weld line. The finite element method was used to determine the stress intensity factor for cruciform joint at weld toe and root cracks according to variation of H/Tp, weld angle and main plate thickness. But, in this study, weld angle was fixed at 45.deg., since the variation of weld angle affect the stress intensity factor little, also main plate thickness was fixed. Pulsating tension fatigue test was done at the second phase of experiment. The work using the concepts of the fracture mechanics on the stable crack growth, was in the correlation of the experimental fatigue stress-life behavior because the fatigue behaviors of various joint geometries are related to the stress intensity factors calculated by F.E.M. analysis. Main results obtained are summarized as follows. 1) According to the propagation of toe crack, the variation of the stress intensity factor at root crack is obvious as H/Tp is smaller. 2) According to the propagation of root cracks, the change of the stress intensity factor of the toe is very large with propagation of root crack. 3) The calculation formula of the stress intensity factor of crack propagation at the root crack was obtained. 4) The calculation formula of the stress intensity factor at the toe cracks was obtained in similar manner. 5) From the results of experiment, the velocity of fatigue crack propagation at the weld toe and root was estimated.

  • The stochastic properties of variation in fatigue crack growth are important in reliability and stability of structures. In this study,the stochastic model for the variation of fatigue crack growth rate was proposed in consideration of nonhomogeneity of materials. For this model, experiments were ocnducted on 7075-T6 aluminum alloy under the constant stress intensity factor range. The variation of fatigue crack growth rate was expressed by random variables Z and r based on the variation of material coefficients C and m in the paris-Erodogan's equation. The distribution of fatigue life with respect to the stress intensity factor range was evaluated by the stochastic Markov chain model based on the Paris-Erdogan's equation. The merit of proposed model is that only a small number of test are required to determine this this function, and fatigue crack growth life is easily predicted at the given stress intensity factor range.

스퍼기어의 접촉응력 해석 (Contact Stress Analysis of a Pair of Mating Spur Gears)

  • This paper presents the study on the contact stress analysis of a pair of mating spur gears during rotation. Contact stress analysis is performed between two spur gear teeth at different contact positions during rotation. An example is presented to investigate the variation of contact stress on a pair of mating gears with contact positions. The variation of contact stress during rotation is compared with the contact stress at lowest point of single tooth contact(LPSTC) and AGMA Equation for contact stress. The results show that contact stress varies along the contact position and gets maximum values in the beginning and end of the contact. In this study, the gear design considering the contact stress on a pair of mating gears is more severe than that of AGMA standard.

부재의 강성변화에 따른 강철도 트러스 교량의 발생응력 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expection of the Stress to the Stiffness Variation of Members on Truss Railway Bridge)

  • 공용중에 있는 철도 교량의 거동 상태를 평가하는 데 있어서는 각 부재에 대한 현장 실측을 통하여 하중의 분배와 발생응력 등을 파악하는 것이 가장 정확하나 이는 매우 어렵다. 그래서. 현장 실측을 거치지 않고 자료조사 및 현지 외관조사 등으로 획득이 가능한 교량의 형식, 각 부재의 손상 정도 및 위치, 열차 교통 특성 등의 간접자료를 사용하여 대상교량의 발생응력을 추정하는 것에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 교량에서 발생하는 부재의 응력변화 특성을 정량적으로 평가하기 위하여 여러 가지 손상중에서도 부식에 의한 단면의 감소와 강성의 변화를 고려하여 시물레이션에 의한 부재의 발생응력을 구하였다. 이로부터 각 부재의 발생응력의 정도와 면화를 조사하였으며 각 부재간의 상호관계를 고찰하였다. 그 결과 단면의 감소에 따라 트러스 주부재에 발생하는 응력은 대체적으로 선형적으로 증가하고 하현재가 가장 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 부재에 발생하는 응력의 증가량은 각각의 부재에 발생하는 응력의 증가량을 더하므로서 큰 오차없이 계산될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 밀도의 변화가 직교이방성 함수구배재료에서 전파하는 모드 III 균열선단부근의 응력 및 변위장에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 균열은 물성치의 구배방향과 수직하여 전파하며 다음과 같은 3가지 종류의 함수구배재료에서 밀도변화가 균열선단의 응력장 및 변위장에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. (1) 탄성변화 없이 밀도만 변화하는 경우 (2) 밀도의 변화방향과 탄성변화방향이 서로 반대인 경우 (3) 밀도의 변화방향과 탄성변화방향이 동일한 경우이다. 이와 같은 경우에 대한 연구를 위하여 균열의 응력장 및 변위장이 개발되었으며 또한 전파하는 균열에 대한 동적응력확대계수에 대하여도 연구하였다. 균열전파속도가 느린 경우에는 밀도의 변화가 균열선단부근의 응력 및 변위장에 미치는 영향은 미미하나 균열전파속도가 빠른 경우에는 그 영향은 매우 크다.

  • Stress and displacement fields of a Mode III crack propagating along the normal to gradient in an orthotropic functionally gradient materials (OFGM), which has (1) an exponential variation of shear modulus and density, and (2) linear variation of shear modulus with a constant density, are derived. The equations of motion in OFGM are developed and solution to the displacement and stress fields for a propagating crack at constant speed though an asymptotic analysis. The first three terms in expansion of stress and displacement are derived to explicitly bring out the influence of nonhomogeneity. When the FGM constant ${\zeta}$ is zero or $r{\rightarrow}0$, the fields for OFGM are almost same as the those for homogeneous orthotropic material. Using the stress components, the effects of nonhomogeneity on stress components are discussed.
