The bioequivalence of two loxoprofen tablets between the $Loxonin^{TM}$ (Dong Hwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and the $Lokpen^{TM}$ (Dong Il Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) was evaluated. 12 normal male volunteers (age $21\sim27$ years old) were divided into two groups and a randomized cross-over study was employed. After one tablet containing 60 mg of loxoprofen sodium anhydrous was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of loxoprofen in serum was determined with an HPLC method using UV/VIS detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters ($C_{max},\;T_{max}$, and $AUC_t$) were calculated and ANOVA was utilized for the statistical analysis of parameters. The results showed that the differences in $C_{max},\;T_{max}$, and $AUC_t$ between two tablets were $1.13\%,\;0\%,\;and\;0.69\%$, respectively The powers (1-${\beta}$) for $C_{max},\;T_{max}$, and $AUC_t$ were $84.88\%,\;88.61\%,\;and\;84.81\%$, respectively Detectable differences ($\delta$) and confidence intervals were all less than $20\%$. All of these parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that $Lokpen^{TM}$ tablet is bioequivalent to $Loxonin^{TM}$ tablet.
This paper investigates the parenting stress of fathers who have preschooler. At first, a causal model constructed, including the parenting stress as a dependent variable and the psychological characteristics of paternal self-esteem and parenting efficacy as parameters. Based on the change of parenting stress, self-esteem and parenting efficacy according to various pertinent to fathers, the causal effect of various variables effecting on the paternal parenting stress is analyzed. The SPSS PC program was used for the statistical analysis, where fully exploited were frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, Cronbach α, one-way analysis(ANOVA), path analysis. The results can be summarized into 3 parts, in conclusion: 1) The younger a father is, the higher paternal self-esteem becomes. Paternal self-esteem trend was there, for a father who is a member of large family, and for a father whose education level is high, and for a father whose occupation is professional. Regarding parenting sense of competence, a father shows confidence when he has more income, more educated and less children. 2) The variable analysis effecting on the parenting stress dut to the paternal environment shows that a father feels more stress when his income is less and his spouse is working. The sub-factor analysis on the parenting stress shows that 'typical stress dut to the parenting' increases when his income is less and his spouse is working, and 'pressures pertaning to the parental role and distress' increases for a father with less income, working spouse, less educated and non-professional job. Further 'guilty to the parenting by others' shows higher for a father with less income and a working spouse. 3) The path analysis, which were performed to check the causality of the parenting stress dut to various variables, shows that the self-esteem and the parenting efficacy are significant factors directly effecting on the paternal parenting stress, and the job-satisfaction and marriage-satisfaction are significantly effecting on the parenting stress both directly and indirectly.
It was verified that a speaker verification system improved its performances of EER by regularizing log likelihood ratio, using background speaker models. Recently the wireless mobile phones are becoming more dominant communication terminals than wired phones. So the need for building a speaker verification system on mobile phone is increasing abruptly. Therefore in this paper, we had some experiments to examine the performance of speaker verification based on mobile phone's voices. Especially we are focused on the performance variations in EER(Equal Error Rate) according to several background speaker's characteristics, such as selecting methods(MSC, MIX), number of background speakers, aging factor of speech database. For this, we constructed a speaker verification system that uses GMM(Gaussin Mixture Model) and found that the MIX method is generally superior to another method by about 1.0% EER. In aspect of number of background speakers, EER is decreasing in proportion to the background speakers populations. As the number is increasing as 6, 10 and 16, the EERs are recorded as 13.0%, 12.2%, and 11.6%. An unexpected results are happened in aging effects of the speech database on the performance. EERs are measured as 4%, 12% and 19% for each seasonally recorded databases from session 1 to session 3, respectively, where duration gap between sessions is set by 3 months. Although seasons speech database has 10 speakers and 10 sentences per each, which gives less statistical confidence to results, we confirmed that enrolled speaker models in speaker verification system should be regularly updated using the ongoing claimant's utterances.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a career group counseling program on the career maturity and achievement motivation of elementary school underachievers. This study targeted the fifth grader underachievers. Twenty underachievers, whose pre-test homogeneity in career maturity and achievement motivation was verified, were allocated to an experimental group and a control group by 10 underachievers each. The program was conducted for a total of 12 sessions, twice per week, and each session lasted 80 minutes. For verification of the program effects in this study, MANOVA and ANOVA were carried out for pre- and post-score tests between the groups, and repeated-MANOVA and paired t-test were peformed to look into the changes within a group by using SPSS/WIN(version 12.0) in terms of statistical analyses. The findings in this study are as follows: First, as a result of post test for the experimental and control groups, and difference verification of post and pre-tests within the experimental group, both career maturity and sub-factors of career maturity demonstrated significant differences. Second, as a result of difference verification of the pre- and post-tests within the experimental group, achievement motivation significantly improved, but there was no statistically significant difference in achievement motivation in the post-test of experimental and control groups. However, of the sub-factors of the achievement motivation, self-confidence and Interest in the long-term future significantly improved. Third, we can see that the career group counseling program provided opportunities for the underachievers to search their own character, interest, and aptitude, and broadly encounter the world of occupations. Also, we can infer that the underachieves had active and developmental attitudes towards future dreams and their current efforts. As noted above, the career group counseling program proved that it has a positive effect to the improvement of the elementary school underachievers' career maturity and achievement motivation in some variables.
Cilostazol has both antithrombotic and cerebral vasodilating effects, and one of the mechanism is the selective inhibition of platalet cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase. Bioequivalence of two cilostazol tablets, the $Pletaal^{TM}$ (Korea Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co.) and the LG $Cilostazol^{TM}$ (LG Chemical Co.), was evaluated according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Sixteen normal male volunteers ($20\sim29$ years old) were randomly divided into two groups and a randomized $2\times2$ cross-over study was employed. After oral administration of $Pletaal^{TM}$ or LG $Cilostazol^{TM}$ tablet (100 mg cilostazol), blood samples were taken at predetermined time intervals and the serum cilostazol concentrations were determined using an HPLC method with UV/VIS detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters $(AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max})$ were calculated and ANOVA was utilized for the statistical analysis. The results showed that the differences in AUCt, C_{max} and Tmax between two tablets based on the $Pletaal^{TM}$ tablet were $-5.39\%,\;2.32\%\;and\;4.26\%$, respectively. The powers (1-${\beta}$) for $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}\;were\;83.81\%,\;96.02\%\;and\;91.04%$, respectively. Minimum detectable differences ($\Delta$) and $90\%$ confidence intervals were all less than $\pm20\%$. All these parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that LG $Cilostazol^{TM}$ tablet is bioequivalent to $Pletaal^{TM}$ tablet.
Objectives: This study was performed to develop a smoking prevention program for Korean high school students, and to evaluate the effects of the program. Methods: A smoking prevention program, composed of five-session curriculum, was developed by modifying several smoking prevention and cessation programs based on the Social Influence Model. The program was applied to the freshmen of a technical high school. We surveyed with a questionnaire one week before education, one week after education, and two months after education. The number of participants for data analysis were 282(181 males, 101 females). Among those, 162(97 males, 65 females) students were allocated to the education group, and the other 120(84 males, 36 females) students were allocated to the control group. The effect of education was analyzed by multiple logistic regression analysis adjusted by potential confounders. Results: Among smokers, those who had education were more likely to quit smoking (OR=2.99, 95% confidence interval(CI) 0.84-10.64), and to decrease smoking frequency(OR=2.29, 95% CI 0.95-5.53) in borderline significance one week after education. However, the effect of education disappeared two months after education. The effect of education was significant(OR=9.11, 95% CI 3.22-25.76) for the increase of smoking cessation intention one week after education, and it persisted until two months after education(OR=2.94, 95% CI 1.18-7.35). Education was also a significant predictor(OR=1.97, 95% CI 0.89-4.37) for the increase of smoking cessation stage one week after education and it persisted(OR=6.39, 95% CI 2.42-16.86) after two months. Among non-smokers, those who had education were more likely to decrease smoking intention one week after education(OR=4.71, 95% CI 1.63-13.58). However, the statistical significance of education disappeared two months after education. Conclusions: The results showed that the smoking prevention program developed in this study changed smoking behaviors immdeiately after education even though the effect did not persist. However, this program was successful in increasing smoking cessation intention and stage of smoking cessation among smokers.

Leaks at the piston seal and the by-pass port of a small volume prover have relatively large influence on the proving accuracy in comparison with a conventional ball prover. The pulse interpolator, which is to increase the discrimination, is affected by the characteristic of the flowmeter signal. In this study, a small volume prover of the double cylinder type was designed in order to study the pulse interpolation error as well as the leak error. The basic volume of the prover determined by a water draw method was about 9.68L. Experimental results revealed that interpolation data attained by the repeated piston pass for turbine meters at a fixed flowrate may be treated effectively by applying a statistical method. It was possible to limit the pulse interpolation error less than .+-. 0.02% at the 95% confidence level. However, in the case of the bulk meter, if failed to achieve the required repeatability level because of the pulse characteristics. The basic volume change appeared to be independent of the piston velocity within the .+-. 0.05% of tolerance.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence rate and factors related with low back pain(LBP) in senior high school teachers. Methods: Questionnaires were completed by 405 teachers at 13 high school in Andong city in July 2-14, 2001. The information was used to estimate odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence intervals(CI) for factors relation to LBP prevalence. A cross-section study design was used in this study. Results: The pointprevalence rate for LBP was 26.4%, prevalence rate for 6 months was 36.0%, prevalence rate for 1 year was 36.5%, and experience rate during life time was 55.1%, The factors associated with LBP by Chi-square test were marital status(p=0.014), An angle for back rest of car seat(p=0.014), and vibration of seat (p=0.003), 12.2% for patients with LBP was a higher than 6.0% for without in singles, Patients(29.0%) were higher than no patients(17.8%) in above $100^{\circ}$. 14% for patients who exposed to a high vibration. Vibration significantly associated with point prevalence rate for LBP were marital status and lecture time in logistic analysis. The married teachers had a higher LBP experience than singles(OR=2.6, 95% CI 1.13-6.03). The teachers who have a lot of lecture time in a day had a higher experience than those for less time(OR=1.6, 95% CI 1.42-2.51). Conclusions: Results from this study indicate that a statistical significant factors relation to LBP were marital status and lecture time in a day.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the foot rotation on the lower limb muscles. Fourteen subjects performed step-up/step-down at a cadence of 80 beats/min, exercises with the foot neutral, $35^{\circ}$ internally rotated, and $35^{\circ}$ externally rotated, respectively. For each variable, a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine whether there were significant differences between genders and among the eight types of jump. When a significant difference was found in jump type, post hoc analyses were performed using the Tukey procedure. A confidence level of p < .05 was used to determine statistical significance. The results showed that significant changes in averaged IEMG values occurred with the internal rotation of the foot in the lateral gastrocnemius during the knee extension, and in the semitendinosus during the knee flexion. During the knee extension, however, the internal rotation of the foot produced a significantly lower Averaged IEMG values than the neutral foot position in the medial gastrocnemius. The results also found that the peak IEMG activity of the rectus femoris during the knee extension for the external rotation of the foot was Significantly higher than the corresponding values in the neutral position of the foot, while the intenal rotaion of the foot exhibited a significant difference with the neutral position of the foot in the semitendinosus during the knee flexion. In general, the foot rotation position did not influence the average IEMG and Peak IEMG values of most muscles. The practice of adopting foot rotation to selectively strengthen individual muscles of the lower limb was not supported by this study. The external rotation of the foot produced high muscle activities in the quadriceps during the knee extension. For the knee extension, therefore, maintaining a laterally rotated position should be need for stable and comfortable position.
Purpose: To examine the effects of appearance satisfaction on school adjustment among adolescents and, further, the mediating effects of self-efficacy between appearance satisfaction and school adjustment. Methods: Conducted a self-report survey of 640 students consisting of sixth, eighth, and tenth graders in the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. The collected data were analyzed through the independent-sample t-test, the One-way ANOVA, the Pearson's correlation analysis, and the hierarchical multiple regression analysis using the SPSS WIN 18.0 statistical program. Results: First, boys and girls showed statistically significant differences. Boys reported higher levels of appearance satisfaction, school adjustment, and self-efficacy than girls. Second, there were no significant differences in appearance satisfaction and self-efficacy according to the school level. However, statistically significant differences were observed in school adjustment between sixth and eighth graders. Third, students who thought they belonged to the upper class in terms of academic performance and family economy showed the highest level of appearance satisfaction, school adjustment, and self-efficacy. Fourth, there were positive correlations between appearance satisfaction, self-efficacy, and school adjustment. Fifth, self-efficacy proved to have mediating effects between appearance satisfaction and school adjustment among adolescents. In particular, it had a full mediating effect on the relation between appearance satisfaction and adjustment to school life, one of the subfactors of school adjustment. Conclusion: The results suggest that appearance satisfaction is a factor which influences adolescents' school adjustment and that self-efficacy is an important means of mediating between appearance satisfaction and school adjustment. The study is significant in that it highlighted the importance of self-efficacy as one of the important variables to consider when planning various educational programs to help adolescents adjust to their school. In the light of the findings, in an effort to enhance adolescents' self-efficacy and help them lead a harmonious school life in Korea's so-called 'lookism' society, it is necessary to develop and implement counseling programs and character education materials that help adolescents develop a positive perception of their appearance and build self-esteem and self-confidence.
