  • The electronic and magnetic properties for Mn-adsorbed on the chalcopyrite (CH) AlGaP2 semiconductor are investigated by using first-principles FPLMTO method. The clean CH-AlGaP2 without adsorbed Mn is a p-type semiconductor with a direct band-gap. The Mn-adsorbed CH-AlGaP2 exhibits the ferromagnetic state. It is more energetically stable than the other magnetic ones. The interstitial site on P-terminated surface is more energetically favorable one than the Al/Ga-terminated surface, or the other adsorbing sites. In the case of Mn-adsorbed Al/Ga-terminated surface, it is induced a strong coupling between Mn-3d and neighboring P-3p electrons. The holes of partially unoccupied minority Mn-3d state and majority (or minority) Al-3p or P-3p state are induced. Thus a high magnetic moment of Mn is sustained by holes-mediated double-exchange coupling. It is noticeable that the semiconducting and half-metallic characteristics of CH-AlGaP2:Mn thin film is disappeared.

  • This paper deals with position-attitude coupling motion during spacecraft relative operation, and suggests dual quaternion-based kinematics for the problem. The position-attitude coupling motion can occur when the target point is located at an arbitrary point on the satellite body, not the center of mass. This is especially apparent in close proximity operation case. The dual quaternion-based kinematics directly reflects the angular velocity state, so that the coupling motion in which the change of attitude affects the position can be concisely defined. In this study, a new dual quaternion-based kinematics is presented along with a conventional approach to solve the coupling problem. Numerical simulations show that the position error for the target point is generated by the coupling motion, and verify that the dual quaternion-based kinematics can solve this problem.

  • Wind-resistant design of existing cooling tower structures overlooks the impacts of rainfall. However, rainstorm will influence aerodynamic force on the tower surface directly. Under this circumstance, the structural response of the super-large cooling tower (SLCT) will become more complicated, and then the stability and safety of SLCT will receive significant impact. In this paper, surrounding wind fields of the world highest (210 m) cooling tower in Northwest China underthree typical wind velocities were simulated based on the wind-rain two-way coupling algorithm. Next, wind-rain coupling synchronous iteration calculations were conducted under 9 different wind speed-rainfall intensity combinations by adding the discrete phase model (DPM). On this basis, the influencing laws of different wind speed-rainfall intensity combinations on wind-driving rain, adhesive force of rain drops and rain pressure coefficients were discussed. The acting mechanisms of speed line, turbulence energy strength as well as running speed and trajectory of rain drops on structural surface in the wind-rain coupling field were disclosed. Moreover, the fitting formula of wind-rain coupling equivalent pressure coefficient of the cooling tower was proposed. A systematic contrast analysis on its 3D distribution pattern was carried out. Finally, coupling model of SLCT under different working conditions was constructed by combining the finite element method. Structural response, buckling stability and local stability of SLCT under different wind velocities and wind speed-rainfall intensity combinations were compared and analyzed. Major research conclusions can provide references to determine loads of similar SLCT accurately under extremely complicated working conditions.

  • In the analysis of characteristic behaviors of a real transformer with coupling coefficient K is less than 1, this paper presents the more accurate and practical profits than the traditional analysis of the transformer treated as K∼1. This results from the use of the coupling coefficient type equivalent circuit of the transformer which includes K as positive parameter. Furthermore, a leakage transformer is analyzed in a unified method and the results of analysis are consistent with the practical measurements of the transformer. By using the above equivalent circuit, the characteristics referred to the load side are expressed as Thevenin voltage source and the leakage inductor (1-K2)L2. Therefore, these analysis about the output voltage and the damping factor in the transient state which are affected by the leakage inductor are confirmed to be an effective method.

  • It is very important to well understand the dynamic characteristics of damaged structures to successfully develop or to choose a most appropriate structural damage identification method (SDIM) as the means of non-destructive testing. In this pope., the dynamic equation of motion for damaged plates is derived by introducing a damage distribution function, which may characterize the effective state of structural damages. It is found that structural damages may induce the coupling between modal coordinates. The effects of damages on the vibration characteristics of a plate depending on their locations, sizes, and magnitudes are numerically investigated in a systematic way. The numerical investigations are also given to the effects of damage-induced modal coupling on the changes in vibration characteristics and to the minimum number of natural modes required to predict sufficiently accurate vibration characteristics of damaged plates.

  • A directional coupler which on the X-cut $LiNbO_3$ substrate is fabricated by using proton exchange method and self-aligned method. After proton exchange process, the waveguide is formed by annealing process. The relation ship between refractive index change of waveguide and maximum output was studied along with the annealing time. A self-aligned method was used to simplify the fabrication process of the waveguide and to maximize the efficiency of electric field. The on-off state of modulator has been observered with the switching of the directional coupler by the electric field effect and also the switching voltage of the directional coupler has been measured with 8.0 [V].

However the characteristics changes of passives in ceramic module due to the coupling between patterns, so each block in module, must be analyzed in the state of module including coupling factors. In our research, characteristics of each block of VCO, resonator part, oscillator part, output part were measured and analyzed to allow the prediction of behavior of VCO.

  • In this study, a governing equation for 4-axis active magnetic bearing system composed of a rigid rotor and two radial magnetic bearings is derived. We find out that there are two kind of coupling between control axes in the system. And digital contralized controller is designed based on state-space approach and linear quadratic regulator(LQR) theory. By numerical simulation, it is shown what the designed controller can stabilize the system and control the coupling effectively using limited control input.
