  • In this study, we used 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate(MPS) silane coupling agent for surface modification of silica nanoparticles. We studied effects of reaction conditions such as solvent pH, MPS hydrolysis time, reaction time, and molar ratio of MPS to Si-OH groups on silica nanoparticle surfaces, on the surface modification reactions of silica nanoparticles. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR), Elemental Analysis(EA) and solid state crosspolarization magic angle spinning(CP/MAS) Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy(NMR) techniques were used to determine the type and the degree of surface modification. We found MPS reacts preferentially with Si-OH groups of the silica nanoparticles as monomeric form at solvent pH = 4.5. But increasing hydrolysis time of MPS from 30 mins to 90 mins, and molar ratio of MPS to Si-OH groups on silica nanoparticle surfaces, we found that MPS reacts preferentially with Si-OH groups of the silica nanoparticles as oligomeric form.

  • The holes with a diameter of $35{\mu}m$ inside the GMR-SV (giant magnetoresistance-spin valve) film were patterned by using the photolithography process and ECR (electron cyclotron resonance) Ar-ion milling. From the magnetoresistance curves of the GMR-SV film with holes measuring by 4-electrode method, the MR (magnetoresistance ratio) and MS (magnetic sensitivity) are almost same as the values of initial states. On other side hand, the $H_{ex}$ (exchange bias coupling field) and $H_c$ (coercivity) dominantly increased from 120 Oe and 10 Oe to 190 Oe and 41 Oe as increment of the number of holes inside GMR-SV film respectively. These results were shown to be attributed to major effect of EMD (easy magnetic domian) having a region positioned between two holes perpendicular to the sensing current. On the basis of this study, the fabrication of GMR-SV applying to the hole formation improved the magnetoresistance properties having the thermal stability and durability of bio-device.

  • This study uses the bibliometric analysis and author bibliographic coupling analysis (ABCA) to analyse the study of IT outsourcing in Korea and China by 2017 and determine the subject areas of the researcher and the intellectual structure which lays the foundation for future researchers in IT outsourcing area. For this study, through the National Digital Science Library (NDSL) of Korea and China Academic Journal network publishing Database (CAJD) of China, it collected the connected documents and found out authors whose work had been published more than twice. ABCA is utilized to visualize the author map which could find out the researchers and areas in meaningful way. The result show that the study of IT outsourcing in Korea came out earlier and developed further than that of China. The study in Korea has already come to the mature period. By contrast, China remains at somewhere between developing period and bottleneck period. The distribution of papers are still in the dispersed state. The author map shows a hot subject area in Korean researchers IT outsourcing strategy is and in chinese scholars IT outsourcing management.

  • Electronic systems based on solid state devices have changed to be more complicated and miniaturized as the electronic systems developed. If the electronic systems are exposed to HPEM (high power electromagnetics), the systems will be destroyed by the coupling effects of electromagnetic waves. Because the HPEM has fast rise time and high voltage of the pulse, the semiconductors are vulnerable to external stress factor such as the coupled electromagnetic pulse. Therefore, we will discuss about malfunction behavior and DFR (destruction failure rate) of the semiconductor caused by amplitude and repetition rate of the pulse. For this experiment, the pulses were injected into the pins of general purpose IC due to the fact that pulse injection test enables the phenomenon after the HPEM is coupled to power cables. These pulses were produced by pulse generator and their characteristics are 2.1 [ns] of pulse width, 1.1 [ns] of pulse rise time and 30, 60, 120 [Hz] of pulse repetition rate. The injected pulses have changed frequency, period and duty ratio of output generated by Timer IC. Also, as the pulse repetition rate increases the breakdown threshold point of the timer IC was reduced.

  • The hydration effect on the intrinsic magnetism of natural salmon double-strand DNA was explored using electron magnetic resonance (EMR) spectroscopy and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetic measurements. We learned from this study that the magnetic properties of DNA are roughly classified into two distinct groups depending on their water content: One group is of higher water content in the range of 2.6-24 water molecules per nucleotide (wpn), where all the EMR parameters and SQUID susceptibilities are dominated by spin species experiencing quasi one-dimensional diffusive motion and are independent of the water content. The other group is of lower water content in the range of 1.4-0.5 wpn. In this group, the magnetic properties are most probably dominated by cyclotron motion of spin species along the helical π -way, which is possible when the momentum scattering time (${\tau}_k$) is long enough not only to satisfy the cyclotron resonance condition (${\omega}_c{\tau}_k$ > 1) but also to induce a constructive interference between the neighboring double helices. The same effect is reflected in the S-shaped magnetization-magnetic field strength (M-H) curves superimposed with the linear background obtained by SQUID measurements, which leads to larger susceptibilities at 1000 G when compared with the values at 10,000 G. In particular, we propose that the spin-orbital coupling and Faraday's mutual inductive effect can be utilized to interpret the dimensional crossover of spin motions from quasi 1D in the hydrate state to 3D in the dry state of dsDNA.

  • In this paper, all the materials constants of the PMN-32%PT single crystals grown by the solid state crystal growth method were measured by the resonance method. PMN-PT crystals of tetragonal symmetry have six elastic constants, three piezoelectric constants and two dielectric constants for their independent material constants. These materials constants were extracted from six sets of crystal samples of each different geometry to have different vibration modes respectively. Measured results showed that the crystal has larger electromechanical coupling factor k/sub 33/ (∼86%) and piezoelectric constant d/sub 33/ (∼1200pC/N) than conventional piezoceramics. Validity of the measurement was confirmed through comparison of the results with the impedance spectrum from finite element analysis of the samples and the results measured with a commercial do meter.

  • In the past decades, much effort has been made towards the study of single-mode-based vibration controls with dynamic energy absorbers such as single or multiple Tuned Mass Dampers(TMDs). With the increase of bridge span length and the tendency of the bridge cross-section being more slender and streamlined, multi-mode coupled vibrations as well as their controls have become very important for large bridges susceptible to strong winds. As a simple but effective device, the TMD system especially the semi-active one has become a promising option for such coupled vibration controls. However, despite various studies of optimal controls of single-mode-based vibrations with TMDs, research on the corresponding controls of the multi-mode coupled vibrations is very rare so far. For the development of a semi-active control strategy to suppress the multi-mode coupled vibrations, a comprehensive parametric analysis on the optimal variables of this control is substantial. In the present study, a multi-mode control strategy named "three-row" TMD system is discussed and the general numerical equations are developed at first. Then a parametric study on the optimal control variables for the "three-row" TMD system is conducted for a prototype Humen Suspension Bridge, through which some useful information and a better understanding of the optimal control variables to suppress the coupled vibrations are obtained. This information lays a foundation for the design of semi-active control.

  • The behaviour of alloys in the semi-solid state strongly depends on the imposed stress state and on the morphology of the phase which can vary from dendritic to globular. To optimal net shape forging of semi-solid materials, it is important to investigate for filling phenomena in forging process of arbitrarily shaped dies. To produce a automotive part which has good mechanical property, the filling pattern according to die velocity and solid fraction distribution has to be estimated for arbitrarily shaped dies. Therefore, the estimation of filling characteristic in the forging simulation with arbitrarily shaped dies of semi-solid materials are calculated by finite element method with proposed algorithm. The proposed theoretical model and a various boundary conditions for arbitrarily shaped dies is investigated with the coupling calculation between the liquid phase flow and the solid phase deformation. The simulation process with arbitrarily shaped dies is performed to the isothermal conditions of two dimensional problems. To analysis of forging process by using semi-solid materials, a new stress-strain relationship is described, and forging analysis is performed by viscoelastic model for the solid phase and the Darcy's law for the liquid flow. The calculated results for forging force and filling limitations will be compared to experimental data. The filling simulation of simple products performed with the uniform billet temperature(584$^{\circ}C$) from the induction heating by the commercial package MAGMAsoft. The initial step of computation is the touching of semi-solid material with the end of die gate and the initial concept of proposed system just fit with the capability of MAGMAsoft.

  • Multiconductor transmission line(MTL) equations are solved by FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method to predict crosstalk and fields to transmission line coupling on lossy multiconductor transmission lines terminated in arbitrary linear loads. Skin effect losses as well as dc losses are included in the analysis. In order to increase computational efficiency, the convolution integral of internal impedance of conductors and the line currents is computed by using Prony method. For boundary conditions of MTLs terminated in linear loads, state-variable formulation is adopted. The simulated results by FDTD method are compared with the measured ones obtained by using TEM cell. The predictions are in good agreement with the measurements. In addition, it has been found that skin effect losses as well as dc losses of the conductors should be included for accurate predictions on relatively high loss transmission lines such as PCB. It has also been found that dc losses and skin-effect losses affect late-time responses and early-time responses, respectively.

  • The present work was designed to determine whether change in fluidity of the mitochondrial membrane affects mitochondrial {TEX}$F_{1}${/TEX}{TEX}$F_{0}${/TEX}ATPase characteristics in NIDDM-prone BHE/Cdb rat. Isolated mitochondria fom BHE/Cdb rat fed a 6% coconut oil or corn oil were functionally tested by an analysis of its respiration and the coupling of this process to ATP synthesis in presence of oligomycin, a specific inhibitor of oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), that binds to the {TEX}$F_{1}${/TEX}{TEX}$F_{0}${/TEX}ATPase. Mitochondria from rats fed coconut oil were more responsive to the inhibitory action of oligomycin with respect to state 3 respiration, respiratory control (RC) ratio and ADP:P (P/O) ratio than were mitochondria from rats fed corn oil. In state 3 respiration, mitochondria from rats fed coconut oil consumed less oxygen than did mitochondria from rats fed corn oil. RC ratio was lower in the mitochondria from rats fed coconut oil than was mitochondria from rats fed corn oil. In P/O ratio, the mitochondria from rats fed coconut oil had a lower P/O ratio than did mitochondria from rats fed corn oil. The data showed that the chang influidity of the mitochondrial membrane by dietary fat affected mitochondrial {TEX}$F_{1}${/TEX}{TEX}$F_{0}${/TEX}ATPase characteristics. The present study on diet differences in {TEX}$F_{1}${/TEX}{TEX}$F_{0}${/TEX}ATPase characteristics provides considerable insight into the role diets play in the control of mitochondrial function, expecially OXPHOS in NIDDM with mitochondrial defects.
